I'll throw out a prayer for safe travels for all. I've been scarce around these parts for the last six months or so, but you folks frequently enter my thoughts and prayers. I didn't completely mute the internet but I turned the volume down to a whisper. A squirrel panel discussion (ADHD) management tool. I've been asking our Lord to make me a better steward of His blessings. I've discovered that to be a very positive self challenge. His peace is one of the many blessings. Sadly it had a bunch of those ads, most of which you can skip after 5-7 seconds, sprinkled in. From back in the 90's done by Marv Rosenthal. I had heard a shorter version done by him back then, How Israel Became a Nation. If interested let me know. Have a short link. Mornin' Horde.
My attempt at holiday employment with the local ABC store appears to have failed. The disappointment is mainly due to the great interview I had with them. Took a full hour, and at the end, the manager mentioned that they sometimes hire for permanent positions from holiday staffers. A follow up encounter with another employee informed me that I was one of only two people interviewed for the spot. So the Dear John email hit pretty hard when it came. Well, no matter. I'm over it and have other irons in the fire. My 2027 dance card has several large productions that require funding above my current means. I share my friend Random Dave's belief that God will guide us both to the right opportunity. (And yeah, I can see how me working in a liquor store was probably not His plan..) Curiouser and curiouser.
Federal agents, according to multiple sources who spoke with NewsNation, searched discarded trash in hopes of obtaining DNA from Omar and her family before raiding her Washington, D.C. home this week. The sources state that any potential DNA evidence obtained "is critical to the investigation" into the Squad member. It's unclear how such evidence would factor into the case, but the outlet reports that the case is believed to be "broader than the public may assume based on longstanding accusations surrounding her immigration history or marital status." Breezy and cool today, with sun and (fairly) low humidity. Amazing for October here in Da Swamp. I wore my windbreaker and a fedora over to Walmart this am.
Be advised, my fedoras are not those fluffy cone-like paper things that WM and Target sell. They are real fur felt and styled much more like a Bogart lid, or like the cream-colored Open Road model such as LBJ wore -- though I snap the front brim down on mine. LBJ was a Resistol man, though, not a Stetson guy. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at October 17, 2026 09:50 AM (wzUl9) 77
