Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Nobel Peace Prize Is Neither Noble Nor Supportive Of Peace!Navi Pillay just won the Nobel Peace Prize, and for those of you who are thinking..."Who," (I'm one of them) you would be entirely correct. She is an apparatchik in the international justice racket, first serving as a judge in South Africa..a well-known bastion of the rule of law! She then moved on to the UN, the International Criminal Court, and the International Criminal Tribunal For Rwanda. These are just some of the organizations across the world that are linked by a common motivation...vast virtue signalling while doing almost nothing to combat the evils of the world. And they are committed post-modern adherents to the concept that the 3rd World can do no wrong, while the West is the root of all evil! Remember, the parent organization of the "Peace" Industry is the United Nations!the UN's 54-nation Economic and Social Council nominated the Islamic Republic of Iran to the UN's Committee for Program and Coordination, which meets next month to shape policy on women's rights, human rights, disarmament, and terrorism prevention. Iran most recently murdered between 50,000 and 100,000 protestors, uses rape as a theological weapon, and is the world's foremost sponsor of terrorism. Which makes them adored by the United Nations! Back to Navi Pillay. She is a typical anti-Western 3rd Worlder who is conspicuously silent when it comes to the real evil in the world. Remember the massacre at Charlie Hebdo? Yeah, she blamed them for their own murders, but conveniently described them as "protests." And when Danish newspapers reprinted the cartoons and a car bomb struck the Danish Embassy in Pakistan, she recommended censoring them rather than defending freedom of speech. Her record is depressingly consistent, and it is focused not on freedom, but on her 3rd World sensibility of Western responsibility for the ills of the world. And the Nobel Committee gobbles up that sort of crap! Have there been deserving winners? Sure, but just glance at the list of winners and it is obvious that it is usually hyper-political, self-serving, anti-Western, and also impossibly silly. Maybe Next Year They'll Give the Chemistry Prize to a Hamas Bomb Maker-- Garry Kasparov To be fair to the other Nobel Prize winners, the peace prize is decided by an entirely different organization called the Norwegian Nobel Committee, which is a five-member committee chosen by the Norwegian parliament, and whose decisions are final and do not go before the larger assembly. But that comment illuminates the problem inherent in the commercialization and politicization of the peace process. The world spends billions of dollars each year on hundreds of international committees and organizations (including the UN) that do very little other than enrich many thousands of otherwise useless people who have spent their lives within that bubble. Elite University to small NGO to larger NGO to government service to mega-NGO...complete with private jets and great restaurants and luxury hotels in every city. And on the way they lecture the West about how evil we are and how we should spend more money helping the developing world, while siphoning off most of that money for their own. All of those organizations, and the prizes they give to their friends and colleagues and fellow NGOs are a boondoggle that pisses away money that could be spent on more productive things, or even better, not spent at all, so the taxpayers of the West who fund these things can keep a little bit more of their money. Obama got one, right? Just for being elected. Posted by: Bertram Cabot, Jr. at October 11, 2026 12:09 PM (Cqx++) For being black. It was an aspirational award given to him in advance for all the good he would do bringing peace to the world. The committee may have been influenced by all the pictures of Obama surrounded by halos. In my own neck of the woods, I can't say any of the Chemistry laureates didn't deserve it, but there are those who were overlooked for personal reasons. Mendelev was nominated many times, but Svente Arrenius always blackballed him. Henry Eyring never got it because he was a prominent Mormon. F. "Some Germans professed to sneer at the idea of an American Army having any impact on the field of battle. After all, in 1917, the entire army hardly came to 150,000 men, less even than Belgium’s. But to a generation of young German officers who had grown up reading tales of the Wild West, and who had studied the Civil War (which German staff officers all had done), the idea of having to fight a country where the average farmhouse probably had as many guns as the average German infantry platoon was far from reassuring." - John Mosier, The Myth of the Great War Posted by: Hadrian the Seventh at October 11, 2026 01:09 PM (eRlcH) 123

Amusing statistic about India and international awards; in spite of its size, residents of India have only been awarded 5 Nobel prizes. There’s a gray area where some have been awarded to persons from India but who no longer lived there.
This carries over to the Olympics - India has 41 Olympic medals total in their entire history. They have precisely zero medals from the Winter Olympics. BUT at the same time India has over 1400 medals in the Special Olympics. Posted by: Tom Servo at October 11, 2026 01:13 PM (Y6Q+5) 137

I’m biased I admit I but I think the refs screwed Bama last night. First they didn’t call an obvious pass interference against Georgia that would’ve put the Tide in easy FG range for a tying FG (and possibly more, they could’ve scored the winning TD). Then with Georgia trying to run out the clock they called a tricky-tack away from the play personal foul on Bama resulting in a first down and the game’s over. It was a penalty by the letter of the law but not the spirit of the rules. A yellow flag shouldn’t determine a good game like that. Georgia still would’ve had 3rd and 2… make them earn the first down

I don't think having mental health problems will harm Talarico's chances. I think people will vote against him for other reasons . Tom Kean Jr. who is the son of our former Governor and had been missing from the House of Representatives for months, because of mental health problems but he explained nothing till he reappeared , is still running for his seat, and because of his being missing will probably lose his seat to the Democrat.

Soros and the anti Second Amendment groups just dumped over $100 million into Democrats coffers. The main objective is to try and swing 8 key House races to take back control. The money is specifically targeting the Second Amendment gains we have made under this Republican majority and Trump. They’ve completely lost their minds over the recent change for NFA items and plan to roll that back as soon as they can.
You have to ask yourself- why do they keep going after your 2A rights? You won’t line the answer. Maybe take a gaze across the pond for some clues. Posted by: Vengeance at October 11, 2026 01:31 PM (DD6gL) 183

Posted by: LinusVanPelt at October 11, 2026 01:25 PM (M+uMR) I'm so old I remember when the uprights in the pros were at the goal line. And the uprights were 'H' shaped. "The NFL moved the goal posts to the back of the end zone in 1974. In the NFL’s earliest days, before the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles existed, the league followed the NCAA rule book. Goal posts were on the goal line. When the NCAA moved them to the end zone’s backline in 1927, the NFL followed suit. In 1933, however, the NFL adopted its own rule book and placed the goal posts back on the goal line. NFL goal posts stayed there until 1974 when they were moved to the back of the end zone." I can think of three ways filed goals can be made more difficult. Move the uprights a distance behind the end lines. Move the crossbar higher. Narrow the distance between the uprights. Or combine any two of those or all three. I don't foresee any changes in the next 10 years. Posted by: Gref at October 11, 2026 01:50 PM (5rh/l) 237

I can think of three ways filed goals can be made more difficult. Move the uprights a distance behind the end lines. Move the crossbar higher. Narrow the distance between the uprights. Or combine any two of those or all three. I don't foresee any changes in the next 10 years.

I have though that perhaps we should make the long range kickoffs a part of the game. If you can kick off through the uprights, you get one point and have to rekick from from five yards further back.
