Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Germany Arrests Its Former Top Spymaster for Treason, Accusing Him of Spying for a Foreign PowerThe foreign power is reportedly not Russia. Germany's former spy chief, August Hanning, was arrested on Tuesday for alleged treason, with Berlin accusing him of gathering sensitive documents for a foreign spy service. "Hanning is strongly suspected of treasonous espionage, obtaining state secrets, attempted treason and espionage," German prosecutors said in a statement, according to Reuters. Hanning previously served as president of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND). ... His arrest marks a major scandal for the German state, with prosecutors alleging that Hanning's espionage occurred over multiple years and involved more than 2,000 documents.China, maybe? Surely not Iran. I'm afraid it will turn out to be a western nation. Speaking of treason, a watchdog agency concludes that Biden deliberately risked the country's national security by allowing known security risks to remain in the country on expired visas. The Biden administration risked national security by letting millions of foreigners illegally overstay their nonimmigrant visas, including 104,000 who posed threats, while launching fewer than 500 investigations to remove violators, according to a bombshell report by the Homeland Security Department's internal watchdog. "From fiscal years 2021 to 2024, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) took few enforcement actions using targeted leads concerning foreign nationals who overstayed or otherwise violated their nonimmigrant visa terms of admission," the inspector general reported. "As a result, foreign nationals who potentially posed threats to the United States remained at large despite their illegal status," the report added. The report laid bare a Biden strategy that de-emphasized tracking down foreigners overstaying their permission to stay in the country, leaving a staggering statistical mess that included: 3,145,375 nonimmigrant visa overstays 104,049 foreigners who were deemed national security and public safety concerns ICE conducted just 496 investigations and arrested just eight foreigners The watchdog traced the crisis to a September 2021 policy change that directed Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) "to only investigate "Priority 1" leads -- those potentially posing the highest threat to national security or public safety. "Of the 1,769 viable Priority 1 leads, HSI initiated only 84 investigations (about 5 percent), resulting in two arrests," it added. "The other 3,041,326 (96.7 percent) overstay leads were deemed Non-Priority." Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

This post missed the best part of this story: how this Hanning saboteur came under scrutiny.
"Hanning came under scrutiny in a separate investigation into the abduction of Hamburg businesswoman Christina Block’s children from her ex-husband in Denmark. Hanning and a retired official from the Hamburg State Criminal Police Office are suspected of having accepted a contract from Block in 2022 to abduct her children." Real stand-up guy! I suspect the guy would do anything for money, so his motivation to spy for Country X was probably pecuniary, not ideological, so it could be any country. The watchdog traced the crisis to a September 2021 policy change that directed Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) "to only investigate "Priority 1" leads -- those potentially posing the highest threat to national security or public safety. "Of the 1,769 viable Priority 1 leads, HSI initiated only 84 investigations (about 5 percent), resulting in two arrests," it added. "The other 3,041,326 (96.7 percent) overstay leads were deemed Non-Priority." ------- So they didn't even follow the absurdly narrow policy in stated the memo. There was the written policy, and then there was the actual policy, which was not written down. These people make decisions that get us killed. It's nothing to them. The fact is we have no idea who is here. There are reportedly countless operatives from foreign intelligence agencies hostile to the US in the country conducting all types of surveillance and reconnaissance activities. You will get many official denials from agencies saying that modern satellite techniques make those activities of minimal value. But the fact is you now have threat actors inside our borders who can carry out direct action and up close surveillance. How do we know? Because we have caught some recon operatives doing things like photographing sensitive facilities, military bases, and people within the national defense including SOF and their families. It is a very dangerous time. Stay frosty. Posted by: Marcus T at October 06, 2026 02:55 PM (oAqqA) 151

----- Perhaps. It's as likely as anything else. But they are a Western nation. I don't think, in that context, it would really be treason. These post-Christian, post-modern, post-nationalist deep state rumprangers have no loyalty to anyone except the other deep state rumprangers, and they haven't bothered hiding that in a loooong time. We've seen enough of this bullshit in the US.
Guys like Hanning are a good example why spy chieftains need to be stripped of high level clearances and be read out of their bureaus once retired. And we need severe punishments for anyone passing intel to a retiree, or receiving it. Such as being spun around in a hot oil drum full of carpet tacks. When you're out, you're out, and no more trading on intel for you. Go find a pond full of ducks to lure in with bread and then break their necks if you want a taste of the ol' glory days of treachery and sadism.
