But apparently the UK is to be condemned for giving up its domination of third-world peoples just to make war on Hitler, whereas Hitler is excused for losing its own domination of third-world peoples just to make war on Czechoslovakia, and Poland, and Russia, and Belgium, and Norway, and Denmark, and of course, ultimately the UK. It's the same shifting standards again that communists apply to the Soviet Union, only Tucker Carlson is increasingly showing his Nazi ass by performing the same service to Hitler. Here's more of those shifting standards: The UK should be condemned for fighting Hitler but Hitler, Tucker Carlson states, had a solid "justification" for invading Poland and must not be condemned for doing so. Tucker also continues insisting that it was wrong to end WWII in the Pacific immediately with the dropping of two atomic bombs, claiming that it's always wrong to take innocent lives. Is it? As Max Nordau points out, Tucker consistently justifies and defends Hitler and Putin taking innocent lives, saying that their starting of wars was just acceptable Great Powers jockeying. But America and of course Israel are not allowed the same "Great Powers jockeying for advantage" leeway; no, for America and Israel, the standard is you must never harm an innocent life, ever, and if you do, you must be condemned forever. Note of course that this is the same kind of standards-shifting communists do when they attack America for, say, spiriting Nazi scientists to America to assist in our rocket program, while justifying Russia's doing of the exact same thing. After all, Russia was just engaging in some Great Power jockeying for advantage.
Max KlingerBy the way: The Groyper/Hitler-adoring pseudoright keeps arguing that we must embrace a little bit of Naziism to attract younger voters, whom they assert are super Hitler lovers. It's not true. Obviously. Phil MagnessAccurate: fe Heydel-MankooExamples at the end of the original post. 13 Britain should have let the Germans annihilate Russia.
Posted by: Boss Moss at October 05, 2026 12:18 PM (1ikK2) The problem here is that Europe becomes a MUCH harder nut to crack. I am trying to remember numbers on the fly, but there was a vast commitment of forces to Barbarossa. Something like 300(?) divisions. Let's say you actually can take Moscow and cap Stalin in winter '41, spring '42, then all of those divisions (planes, tanks, men) become available to bring back west. Plus add in that the fuel issue the germans always dealt with is gone from the caucaus oil fields. So they can increasingly mechanize... Yeah, not a great scenario, even if it would have gotten Stalin down. BUT, it would have also raised the likelyhood of a European usage of nukes. It's a fun scenario to game out though. Defeat all communism/socialism/fascism at one time, when you have the will and men and material to do it. Posted by: Aetius451AD at October 05, 2026 12:24 PM (Y/06r) 42

>>>21 Hitler was just stalling when he said he didn't want war with GB. He knew war was inevitable when he broke the Munich Agreement.
yes, he was lying about everything. He had a sequence of conquest in mind, but knew he could never win without quickly knocking out some countries and keeping other countries out of the war by signing non-aggression pacts he never intended to honor. The obvious example is his non-aggression pact with the Soviet Union -- conquering the Soviet Union for "lebensraumen" was always central to his plan for conquest, but he knew he could not fight Russia and France at the same time. So he signed the pact with Russia, then defeated France, and then almost immediately invaded Russia. I'm not weeping for Stalin here, I'm saying Hitler's promises mean as much as whatever Tucker Carlson claims to believe this month. Posted by: ace at October 05, 2026 12:25 PM (1wjle) 48

>>>That's a morally deranged argument. I disagree with the last sentence. First and foremost, as you later point out, Britain was unlikely to have been able to keep her other possessions in a deal with Hitler. Hitler would have reneged later at a time more to Germany's advantage. So, morality aside, GB had other reasons to take on Hitler. But it is hardly immoral for a nation to determine its own interests in waging war and determining that they don't want to be the world's savior if it runs against their own self-interests. One reason the UK was so broke after Dunkirk is that the US had passed the "Johnson" Act in 1934. UK owed a lot of money after WW1 (as did others), and the US had forbidden itself from lending any more.
Roosevelt (and, later, Willkie) wanted to do more for Britain but the American people lagged them. Over 1940, FDR (with, again, some Republican backing) started Lend-Lease but of course most of that just ended up with Stalin in 1941. I found this interesting while digging around in the Carlson family history:
Tucker Swanson McNear Carlson's father was Richard Carlson who lived a long and interesting life, pretty much setting up Tucker for his media ventures. Richard died in 2025. That's about the time Tucker seemed to publicly go off the deep end so to say. Here's a quote from Richard that I think reflects Tucker's current behavior: Carlson was said to be an active father who had a specific outlook in raising his sons: I want them to be self-disciplined to the degree that I think is necessary to find satisfaction ... you measure a person on how far they go, on how far they've sprung. My parents, the Carlsons, they instilled a modesty in me that, at times, gets in my way ... I know it's immodest of me to say it, but it's difficult sometimes when you want to beat your own drum and say what you really think. ___________________ I think Tucker took those words to heart, and as a homage to his father's passing...telling us what he really thinks. And, it's shit. Posted by: Orson at October 05, 2026 12:47 PM (dIske) 224

===== A reply to such a leftist, You (the leftist) are obviously too short for this ride is my response. To have academic discourse, it requires a common background in education and experience. Frankly, it is not worth my time to rectify your ignorance nor to listen to your pathetic attempts to instigate Socratic questioning in the dialogue with the aim to 'disqualify' if I don't mention your favorite and only 'cite'. True academic research requires a sober acknowledgement and treatment of arguments, even ones we dislike, seriously that have a basis in fact. We do this not to disqualify like the rather stupid Wiki crew does with their endless twaddle of requiring cites but then rejecting and cherry picking what cites are admissible. Instead, we do this in order to recognize commonality of the academic discourse on a particular topic. Leftists are mostly incapable of such knowledgeable discussion because they are emotionally incontinent bed wetters that mistake ideological passion for truth. To such people, ideology is all, reality is meaningless if it does not agree with what the ideologue thinks should occur. Posted by: whig at October 05, 2026 12:52 PM (E4rtv) 246

Hitler always viewed the British as a prodigal son of the Germanic peoples - and he did offer them a guarantee of their overseas possessions if they gave him a free hand on the Continent. Both ideas expose his nearly perfect and deliberate ignorance of European history.
But both ideas are predicated upon Britain - the last remaining true military and imperial power in Europe - relinquishing their status as such and ceding primacy to the Germans. Ridiculous. If they weren't going to knuckle under for the mighty French century after century, why would they suddenly do it for the upstart Germans, let alone the bohemian Austrian corporal? The Nazis brlieved this was possible because Hitler was high on victory and meth, and Goering was coming off the heroin, and Hoess was bugfuck nuts. Tucker also continues insisting that it was wrong to end WWII in the Pacific immediately with the dropping of two atomic bombs, claiming that it's always wrong to take innocent lives. Air delivery of two homemade portable suns into your uncivilized genocidal adversary's cities goes a long ways towards adjusting their attitude in regards to unconditional surrender. Europe needed new warm bodies because they were not having enough kids and their "free" health care was facing a gigantic population of old people without enough workers to pay for it all. Their social programs kept growing but their workers were shrinking. So they figured to flood the zone with 3rd worlders doing crappy low wage jobs.
I think that the reason they wanted Muslims specifically is twofold. 1) the asinine leftist idea that everything is made up of oppressors and oppressed with the Muslim being the most oppressed, required them to help out and give Muslims better conditions and protection because they only could be terrorists and awful goat humping pedophiles because the west was do mean to them for so long. 2) Muslims began a clever program of convincing leftists that not letting them be involved and "advise" everything was racist A supplemental point in England, France, and Spain was feeling guilty for being "so mean" to Muslims in their colonial past. Posted by: Ian S. at October 05, 2026 01:16 PM (2ocoG) Those two groups actually got along pretty well for most of Russian history aside from some colluding with the Nazis in WWII.
