Two-Tiered Justice: Leftwing DAs Give Illegal Aliens Immunity for Major Crimes So That They Won't Be Deported

I wrote about this briefly in Quick Hits yesterday or the day before.

Just the News has a more detailed article.

Illegal aliens are first-tier citizens, somehow. Actual US citizens are second-tier, at best.

Ashe Short:

District attorneys across the country are accused of providing illegal immigrants preferential treatment when they commit crimes, allowing them to remain free in the country and put U.S. citizens' lives at risk. The related reports seem to indicate that when the arrested person is a U.S. citizen, they are denied much of the leniency shown to illegal immigrants accused of the same crime.
The House Judiciary Committee and its Immigration Subcommittee released a report this week detailing how Arlington County, Virginia's Commonwealth's Attorney, Parisa Dehghani-Tafti, "obstructs the enforcement of federal immigration law and shields foreign national criminals from accountability." Dehghani-Tafti's campaign received $515,000 from George Soros-affiliated political entities, Fox News reported last October.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data contained within the report showed that sanctuary jurisdictions -- cities that have vowed not to work with ICE -- have declined at least 41,085 detainers between Oct. 2022 and early 2026.
The Judiciary Committee's report included testimony from Dehghani-Tafti about her office's policy to shift outcomes for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) to ensure they don't lose their DACA status. "This policy ensures that certain foreign nationals are never convicted of DWI in Arlington County, [Virginia] solely due to their status as non-U.S. citizens," the Committee wrote.

Arlington County's refusal to work with ICE also extends to cases involving felons and terrorists, the Committee found.

Philadelphia's DA Larry Krasner also uses the policy that "low-level and nonviolent crimes should not lead to deportation or necessarily risk one's immigration status." Jordan also subpoenaed his office in May.
"In fact, you created an Immigration Counsel position within your office to evaluate cases involving non-U.S. citizens so that foreign nationals 'can avoid unnecessary and unjust consequences' -- in other words, to shield criminal aliens from deportation," Jordan wrote. "You also openly boast about how your policies have resulted in criminal aliens being released onto Philadelphia streets, free to reoffend. Even in cases involving murder or crimes against minors, a prosecutor in your office may still consider a criminal alien's potential deportation or other immigration consequences in making prosecution decisions."

23 This is not just as US issue. It's happening in very country in the West. Hell, in Canada they specifically refer to undercharging due to immigrant issues as "candy sentences." Judges will not only take it into consideration when handing down a sentence, they will highlight that decision making process in their Order. The UK does the very same thing if they make an arrest at all. The automatic sentencing threshold for automatic deportation is 12 months or more. So, the unfairness applied is blatantly obvious. Serious and violent crimes are being paroled or under one year incarceration just to avoid triggering the automatic deportation.

The justification is always based on "minor, non-violent offenses" that shouldn't result in deportation. I don't agree with that at all, but that has at least some germ of reasonableness.

Of course, the policy ends up protecting hardcore criminals and violent lunatics too.

Why? Because the left generates yuge money and power from illegals. Probably 50% of the entire economy -- including political donors -- in some blue cities are based on illegals and the welfare and benefits paid to them.

I'm convinced that 30% of the entire economy of the state of CA is based on illegals and their remoras.

Contrary to above opinions, I'm not sweating bullets about the outcome of yet another "most important election ever". Because it doesn't matter in the macro.

The trends are the trends. All that matters is action. And we're seeing an undeniable growth in the number of Socialists/Communists willing to take tangible action. And we're certainly seeing an marked increase in the Judiciary's willingness to protect them.

One election, or even a few, are not going to change that. Elections will not change that trend.

Almost 60% of the total population growth of the USA since 2000 was hispanics.

The other driver was an immigrant, he didn't have a valid driver's license or ID, he didn't have any proof of insurance, and the car was registered in somebody else's name. The Atlanta police came to the accident, but he wasn't arrested or given a ticket.

I had to report the accident to my insurance. They tried to get the accident report from the Atlanta PD but there was no record of it. It's like it never happened, except I had to pay the $1000 deductible for $3000 of damage to my car.

A few years earlier, I went through a police checkpoint, where they stopped everyone and asked for driver's license and proof of insurance. My insurance was up to date, but the card in my wallet was old. I still got a ticket and had to go to court to show the judge that I had insurance.
