Dozens of Muslim Delegates Walk Out as Netanyahu Addresses UN

Dozens of United Nations delegates walked out of the hall Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was due to deliver a speech in.
Addressing the UN's General Assembly in New York, Netanyahu described those walking out as "moral cowards". Those who remained and felt similarly should leave, he said.

The war was triggered by the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on 7 October 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 others were taken hostage.
Israel responded by launching a military campaign in Gaza, during which more than 73,920 people have been killed, according to the territory's health ministry.

They say "according to the territory's health ministry" to avoid saying "according to the Hamas health ministry."

Netanyahu said that many of those walking out are liars -- behind the scenes, they applaud Israel's attack on Iranian nukes.

"You want to hear the ultimate irony? In defending itself, Israel is also defending many of the countries whose delegates just left this hall. In fact...many of their leaders even thank us privately for taking out Iran's nukes! It's hard to imagine more mind-blowing hypocrisy."

Netanyahu roasted the Communist Jihadi Theater Kid Zorhan Mamdani, who had previously promised to arrest him if he set foot in NYC:

The reality is that everything supposedly malicious and evil about Europe and the whites was earlier done on mass scale by non-whites.

Slavery? Existed since caveman times.

Colonialism? Mongols, Arabs, and to a lesser extent Asians were doing this long before Europe got into the act.

I've had beans since and they were okay, so tonight is the test to see if beer with beans is okay (b/c beer is in the chili) - didn't want to have jalapenos or anything hotter in the chili when I'm testing for the beer. Spouse knows he's got a hot sauce bottle if he needs it. Kept 1/2 the crispy bacon for topping (and tossed the rest in with a dying Aldi's bag of their real bacon bacon bits)...

This is the exact opposite of what Mamdani ran on.

He promised to arrest Netanyahu. Now Netanyahu is escorted to the UN by his NYPD while that same NYPD arrests people protesting him, including politicians endorsed by Mamdani.

And we’re supposed to treat their arrests as resistance without asking the obvious question: why is Mamdani’s NYPD arresting them in the first place? What are they doing to hold him accountable for that publicly?

Mamdani chose to keep Jessica Tisch. If his administration opposes these arrests, he has power over NYPD policy and leadership. Demand that he use it.

Instead, people keep peddling this fiction that Mamdani is powerless and his hands are tied. If his own supporters preemptively excuse him from using the powers he does have, what incentive is there to fight to fulfill the promise they elected him on?

Most presidential signatures aren't that expensive. I inherited these from my grandfather, but the most I ever spent on one was Madison for $500. It's a patent (I looked it up on the patent office's website, it's a type of pilot's wheel for a boat).

He's playing on the idea that the MOU led to a massive cash transfer to Iran, which people were saying would happen.

What actually happened was the MOU outlined a ceasefire arrangement where Iran acted like a normal country during negotiations, and if they were good, they got unfrozen assets from Gulf States ($12 billion) plus an investment fund of $300 billion to rebuild the country, funded by Gulf states in order to bring the region together economically.

People intentionally misread it while listening to Iranian propaganda that said it immediately transferred the funds the second the MOU was signed.

No funds were ever transferred because Iran was attacking third party ships within 48 hours of the signing, Bessent has just frozen more funds, and not even Saudi Arabia had any idea how the $300 billion would come together.

Same thing happened when the Military suffered the largest US disaster versus the Indians in Ohio under Washington as President. Aside from a few raids on the new towns on the riverbank areas they could do nothing, and a little bit later "Mad Anthony Wayne" led an expedition towards their homelands. There's a chain of cities and towns that were the Days march forts northward to protect the supply line, and the result of the treaty to end the war was England abandoning its forts in US Territory.

I think it is more to the point that the Belgians did not stop the tribal groups from killing each other and opening up transportation routes simply made that easier to kill the other tribes. Same issue in Rwanda even recently, the Belgian troops stood aside and let the Hutus do the Tutsis until the Tutsis kicked Hutu asses and reassumed control of Rwanda.

Basically all the colonial powers could do given the disparity of numbers is pick and choose which tribe was the least dysfunctional and the least likely to try to massacre the colonials. And they used that tribe to keep the others at bay.

Asian colonies did not have the same dysfunctional tribal system that Africa did with the barbarians on the periphery of settled cities. In Africa, it was everywhere. A quick glance at colonies regressing after independence or the fall of Rhodesia and South Africa makes clear that African tribalism is not conducive to good governance. Latin America, Asia, etc. have problems but not to that extent.

They certainly made the best citizens during the fighting in the early parts of the North African campaign during WWII. Colonial troops (Indian, Australia and New Zealand, East Africa and others) outnumbered actual British units until about 1943 in north africa.

In WWI, the colonial troops were pretty much the elite which was why they were out front in some of the nastiest operations that went badly. Most UK divisions were not too noteworthy.

I think this is a false dichotomy. We can be a player in the global markets while maintaining our autonomy and also not deliberately outsourcing all of our manufacturing to foreign shores and then allowing those shitty products to undercut everything made at home.

We also don't have to allow unfettered access to our huge consumer market without tariffs or fees out of the goodness of our hearts. Cheap TVs don't make a lasting nation.
