It is supposedly better on coding tasks on high settings than Claude Fable on max settings while working out to about one fifth the cost.

I'll try it and see. I had some really bad results with Opus 5 on a non-coding task today which was a strong reminder not to do that.

No, really, stop throwing things at me. Think of the enshittification of everything. There has been an iron clad trend that the higher pay a job gets, the more profoundly stupid and corrupt people those jobs go to.

Can you imagine an America dotted with nuke plants staffed by gender studies majors with minors in queer neutrino theory? Nuke plants require stern people with serious chops and rigorous adherence to rules and regulations. Not solipsistic dickhead weirdos who think they can passive-aggressively will an atom into not splitting through Goodthink alone. A post-Obama America with nuclear power as its backbone would have been disastrous.

22 Guten morgen. Wee Pooky was thrashing around, so I decided it was a good time to get my Bible study done. He did NOT like getting poked and prodded for his EKG yesterday, and it wasn't fun for me either. Everything looks fine and his growth is on track, EKGs are apparently standard for IVF pregnancies.

And thanks, Fen, for the donut advice. The "pregnancy-safe" antidepressant I'm on is making it hard to be excited for the baby's arrival.

28 I have been reading the scraps of news and watching the YouTube commentary about GoogleBooks. The consensus is nobody has an idea who they're for, they're way too expensive, and due to a lack of PC caliber apps such as the Adobe creative suite these things are going to fail miserably in a manner that would be very familiar to Windows phone fanatics from about a decade ago.

I did come across one fellow who reviews Android tablets who is excited about the GoogleBooks. His enthusiasm was centered around it's not Apple, it's not Microsoft, will run all his favorite Android apps, and comes with a dedicated keyboard. So there you go, based on this one commentary, the market for GoogleBooks is for people who use Android tablets exclusively and are looking to upgrade to something with a dedicated keyboard.
