Day-Old Quick Hits

This was intended as yesterday's quick hits, but news of Larry Kramer's potential criminal charges for perjury and obstruction of justice bumped it.

Although these Quick Hits were baked yesterday, they are still edible. Just put them under a wet paper towel and microwave them for 10 seconds.

Northern Barbarian
@xnoesbueno

Our crazy orange president needs to announce a plan to pack the court, just like Dems keep advocating.

He'll have Dems shouting that court packing is fascism, which will make for useful video clips down the road.

Just post it on Truth Social. Sit back and watch heads explode, with backflips.

I agree. I had intended to say so in the earlier post. The left keeps threatening to pack the court 1, to make the public accept it when they do it, and 2, to in the meantime pressure the "conservative" majority to sell out to the left to forestall them from packing the court.

I say we leverage the court's fear of popular backlash in our own favor. We should campaign to pack the court with six hard-core based conservatives.

And then let Kavanaugh and Roberts and Coney-Barret write decisions to appease us.

And look, the left is going to pack the court. This isn't just bluffing.

Do we have to play the faintheart sucker forever? Can we not act decisively in our own interests, ever?

Kash Patel is working with Congress on legislation to ban birth tourism.

FBI Director Kash Patel on Tuesday confirmed that the Trump administration was working to create legislation to target "birth tourism," the practice of traveling to the U.S. to give birth and secure citizenship for newborns.

Patel made the remarks during an appearance before Senate lawmakers of the Judiciary Committee.

"We are following the federal statutes that we have on the books right now, and we're working with our partners in Congress to draft new legislation to give us new authorities to make sure that we can combat the threat," he said, according to Politico.

Better act quick. Chinese billionaires are basically filling up America with their clones.

A woman has discovered she is carrying a baby for reclusive Chinese gaming billionaire Xu Bo, who has allegedly fathered hundreds of children.

"The agency should've been very transparent from before getting matched ... about who it is that you're having a baby for and what the family is," she told CBS News.

He's creating his own horde of descendants in, as John Kerry would say, in a manner reminiscent of Jengis Khan.

The woman, whom CBS identified as "Judy" to protect her identity, made the comments in one of the first public accounts from a surrogate carrying a child for Xu.

Judy told the station she has repeatedly tried to meet the man for whom she is carrying the baby, but none have taken place. "It leaves me wondering: do I even have a right to know?" she said.

Her involvement with surrogacy began after she came across an AD on Instagram. It offered $120,000 to become a surrogate.

Judy, a single mom raising a seven-year-old, saw it as an opportunity to earn enough money to move into a home of her own.

"I wanted to build a better life for me and my daughter," she said.

Judy eventually signed an agreement with Patriot Conceptions. She said the agency described the intended parent as a single father who wanted to grow his family.

The California Post reached out to Patriot Conceptions about Judy's claims.

In a statement, Patriot Conceptions confirmed that they were the agency for Xu's surrogate Judy. They also clarified that they had "zero affiliation" with a separate Arcadia case featured in CBS's story.

"Conflating our agency with those unrelated arrangements is materially misleading," they said.

Moreover, the agency said that Xu presented himself as a "single father seeking to build a family" and that when revelations over his activities became public, they "recommended terminating the contract" with him.

...

On Weibo, Xu has posted fantasies of his offspring one day marrying Musk's children, according to the Journal.

This superfecudity strategy is insane and should be criminalized. It's dangerous -- when you secret sire a literal Mongolian horde of children, the odds become pretty good that sons will begin marrying sisters, having no idea that they're direct blood relatives.

Spain's socialist bitch Pedro Sanchez wants the cameras to see him shaking hands with an African migrant. He was probably not happy to see the cameras caught him vigorously wiping off his hand after "welcoming" the immigrant.

Karl Rove signals his virtue.

Karl Rove, former adviser to President George W. Bush and longtime Texas GOP political consultant, said he is planning to vote for Democrat Jon Rosenthal, who is running for a seat on the Texas Railroad Commission, which regulates the state's oil and gas production.

The statements come after Republican candidate Bo French published comments on X that critics called racist. The post showed a photo of students celebrating the University of Texas football game on Sunday, many of which appear non-White.

I'm done with this crew.

Speaking of: Super-Conservative (TM) Tom Massie, who is definitely not a flaky closet case, has filed articles of impeachment against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

He's vag-mad that the Secretary of War sometimes orders men into, um, war.

The Pentagon came out swinging on Tuesday after Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., read articles of impeachment against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth over the prosecution of the Iran war.

Massie's articles focused on the continued involvement of U.S. forces in active fighting past the 60-day maximum, after which the White House must seek authorization from Congress. The Iran war began in late February and was subject to a nominal ceasefire for several weeks. The Trump administration previously argued that the official pause in fighting reset the clock.

After Massie's remarks on the House floor, however, the Pentagon embraced a defiant tone, with press secretary Kingsley Wilson telling reporters that "Secretary Hegseth has been a transformative leader for the Department of War. Standards and merit are back, our arsenal is stronger than ever before, and morale and recruitment across every service are at all-time highs."

WTF???!!! This is insane! NBC made Lindsay Clancy juror Kellie Farina re-answer a question - but they left her initial response in the video! This is at the 32:08 mark in the interview, watch:

Interviewer: "Do you think that she should be re-tried?"
Farina: "I would like to see her be re-tried, absolutely."

Then the interviewer looks off screen and gestures to someone. Was that a signal to edit that part out because they didn't like her answer? Then she stumbles through asking the EXACT same question!

Interviewer: "You think, you think, you would like she should be re- re-tried?"

Then they cut to another camera shot for Farina to re-answer the question.

Farina: "I would like him NOT to re-try her."

What is this? They didn't even edit out Farina's initial answer which was that she WOULD like Lindsay to be re-tried! In the span of 10 seconds, you can watch Farina basically say "yes" and "no" to literally the same question.

How can we believe anything these jurors say? If a juror answers a question in a way the media doesn't like they make them re-do the question with a different answer? How many other times has this happened? Fake. News. What a disgrace...

Link to the interview.

Birdhanded shriveled witch warning:

You encounter 2d4 giant rats.

Rock stars have weird rules about eating. If it's not a crusade against green M&Ms, it's an Adrian-Monk-like diet consisting of a "sandwich" containing only bread and one type of cheese.

The favorite sandwich of legendary Beatles drummer Ringo Starr is remarkably simple: cheese on bread -- but not just any cheese.

"What is the best sandwich?" late-night television host Stephen Colbert asked Starr during a 2021 appearance on "The Late Show."

"I don't have a lot of them anymore, but cheese," Starr answered. He said he loved cheese before clarifying, "But it has to be goat cheese now."

When Colbert questioned his preference for goat cheese, Starr said, "I don't eat anything from the cow because the molecules are so big. Have you seen a cow? The molecules are so big. And that's why if you drink a glass of milk, you're full. With a goat, it's a good size for our bodies."

Haven't I been trying to tell you guys for 20 years that the molecules in cow's milk are too big?

You big dummies, you never listen to me.

1) The left claims the US matching Canadian tariffs is fascism and an affront to Canadian autonomy. What...? You can argue all tariffs are bad sure. But...the argument here is the US can't set its own trade policy AND that matching other country's trade policy is taking away their autonomy?!?

2) The left has gone all in on "billionaires are why everything is expensive" and yet Musk and Bezos (while outside of giving money to Dems) have done nothing to me. My biggest bill is taxes. I'm paying twice as much for everything vs 5 years ago because of government spending and the costs of insurance and healthcare have skyrocketed because of all the foreigners the government has brought in. BREAKING….

Kevin Reddington, Lindsay Clancy’s lawyer, has federal tax liens of $2.37 million for unpaid taxes on his Marshfield mansion, according to public records on file at the Plymouth County Registry of Deeds.

Reddington bought his now-assessed-at-$2.3-million estate in 2017, and has liens from the IRS dating back to 2018, through 2024.

Reddington is the public face of the free-Lindsay Clancy mob that is so outraged that the holdout juror allegedly owes $12,600 in unpaid rent, and is being evicted by his landlord in Bridgewater.

There is no record that any of the $2.37 million in IRS liens on Reddington’s property have been discharged, i.e., paid off. Reddington did not return calls seeking comment on his apparently unpaid tax debts.

87 More from the NYP's item:
Starr’s explanation about the size of the animals and their “molecules” isn’t backed by science, but there are structural differences between goat and cow milk.

Research has found that goat milk generally contains a higher proportion of smaller fat globules than cow milk and differs in its fat and protein composition.

Those differences, along with the way the proteins form curds during digestion, may affect how the two types of milk are digested.

109 It’s pretty clear something has to be done about the hyper partisan and corrupt Supreme Court. They are killing our democracy one ruling at a time. I’ll support just about anything they want to do about it.

The legacy of Bitch McConnell. He had set his sights on filing the court with young, explicitly Conservative justices since the Obama era, and he does not get enough hate for it.

Obama shouldn’t have pressured Biden to let Hillary run instead in 2016. If he hadn’t, Biden probably wins in 2016 and we get a liberal majority court.

They stole a supreme court seat and used it to repeal women's healthcare and black voting rights, overturning both precedent and congress. There is no respect left for the supreme court. Democrats need to take a sledgehammer to the status quo.

The court is already packed. We need to talk about it that way.

Progressives were screaming for this back in 2021-2024 but were told we were too radical, now that Trump won and basically dominates America is when Dems decide to listen lol

128 Here's another thing on the economy, regarding Q2's numbers:

"Q2 2026 Government Spending Details

Overall Impact: The decline in government outlays subtracted about 0.2 percentage points from real gross domestic product (GDP) growth.

Federal vs. State: Federal outlays contracted by 4.2%, while combined federal and state/local outlays overall pulled down the sector, driven largely by reductions in nondefense spending despite a modest 2.4% increase in defense spending."

This is after Q4 of last year saw government spending contract by 5.6% (government shutdown everyone forgot happened) and then rebound partially with +4.4% in Q1.

Everyone has said forever that the key to economic growth and restricting inflation was contracting government spending.

Well, Trump's doing that.

Trump is reacting by trying to limit inflation as much as possible (he mentioned a 1% target a while back) and increasing economic output (wage growth, etc) which is one big reason he shat on the AI pullback effort.

I saw a news report when someone that owned a motel was suing the government because the illegals they housed their destroyed the place. One specific incident sticks with me - the immigrants didn't know how the sink worked so they just left it on all the time.

Eventually the sink flooded and ended up spilling onto the floor.

No one called the owner/staff and they basically destroyed the bathroom and the carpet in the rest of the unit by leaving it in this state for days.

Not with those who would build new ones being gun shy because they know a Democrat administration will make their lives hell.

I went to a store in the mail the other day to buy jeans. I know the mall so I'd be paying a premium, but with the low quality control it is hard to find a pair that actually fits so...how bad could it be? Maybe...$60? or $80?

Anyway I tried on a few pairs and found one that fit and brought it up to the register. And...$160. I asked the clerk to doublecheck...this was one pair of jeans right? And...yep that's the price.

I gave them back and walked out. I noticed the store was full of 20-30 olds shopping. I make a very good salary and that price made be say no. How the hell are these kids paying those prices?

Why aren't you upset at those who emptied SPR, literally blowing up refineries and pipelines, sinking tankers and closing Keystone XL?

You think Trump is fucking Swengali and give everyone a Coke and sing in perfect harmony?

216 Trump did run on inflation, but I seriously doubt it was one of the key factors in his win.

Inflation had largely come under control by the time 2024 election season started.

I think the strongest element was immigration. Life just got worse under Biden, and it was easy (and accurate) to point the finger at the millions of new arrivals who made the country worse in a myriad of ways (including driving up prices in ways that weren't inflation by increasing the demand for everything without increasing the supply).

Its more complicated that than. Ethanol replaced MTBE—an octane increasing additive that California banned because it caused too much environmental damage.

And MTBE replaced TEL because Tetraethyl lead is considered bad for the environment too.

And the alternatives: Alkylate and Toluene, Xylene would increase the prices of fuel massively.

I think the dropped tariffs and all Trump's moves were only for ground beef prices...and the prices I listed were sales, not regular prices...but there were sales which just didn't happen last year...

269 264 cattle can eat grasses that are indigestible to us on lands that can't grow arable crops, thus increasing food production without wasting arable land

And properly done, cattle grazing actually improves the health of grazing land.

276 I had a conversation with a friend today. Bit of a fence sitter, but here is what you’re up against.

He tells me he’s probably going to vote with Democrats because of Iran and gas prices. The reason is things need to change. I asked if he remembered what they did last time, have promised for the future and realizes it will be worse. He hedges and finally admits, yes.

Me: So your front steps are broken and your answer is to burn down the house?

Him: I see your point.

286 >it, uhm, wasn't even about the M&Ms, but to check how carefully the facility would read the contract

I thought everyone knew this already. It was common knowledge when I was a roadie (briefly) back around 1990. The pyrotechnic, electrical and sheer weight requirements for the stage show would stress all but the largest venues, so they added the "bowl of M&Ms in the dressing room, but no green ones" as a fast check on whether the contract riders had been followed to the letter. Any half-assing of those could get someone killed, so if the bowl had green M&Ms, some other candy, or wasn't there at all, the band knew they had to double-check every line of the riders to make sure the venue hadn't half-assed something dangerous.

------

It's probably been said but pretty much all of this should be laid at the feet of Sleepy Joe who jacked inflation up to 9% and let everything get expensive quickly. That inflation is now baked into the cake unless we're willing to roll the dice on an actual deflationary cycle which basically nobody is willing to do. So you can be mad about it but sitting here fuming that Trump isn't doing enough to give you cheap hamburgers isn't exactly a productive use of anyone's time.

297 Why hasn't that been reversed? Biden sure reversed a whole lot of shit IMMEDIATELY when he took office.

As of 2026, BLM has granted 18,000 grazing permits and leases covering roughly 155 million acres.

Yet the Left fights every step of the way through environmental reviews required under federal law, litigation, staff and workload challenges within BLM offices, drought, wildfire, endangered species protections, land health concerns

All of that interferes in reasserting cattle grazing rights
