doing media. How embarrassing and offensive to women and men who don't believe murdering your kids should be acceptable. Not to mention a bastardization of what a jury is supposed to do, which is not to engage in activism.

I don't use this word flippantly, but this truly is SICKENING.
They have given it a name: "altruistic filicide".
Altruistic: selfless concern for others.
Filicide: the killing of one's children.
They have pathologized what would otherwise be brutal murder as "the selfless killing of one's children".
We are even beyond "suicidal empathy". We have literally entered the realm of "homicidal empathy". Pathologized as "altruistic filicide"
And listen to the mind virus of "virtue signaling" according to this juror (whose last name happens to be Devlin - my goodness the simulation has a sick sense of humor).
Lindsay Clancy was a good mom (despite "viciously killing" her three children - literally the terms used by another juror who also would have found not guilty), because she had a big sign in her house that said "it's a wonderful life".

Tell me. If a juror, after the fact of a verdict convicting a defendant, spouted off that the conviction was essentially a political act, something not related to the evidence, I think that would allow for the defense to move for a new trial. I think.

But going the other way, acquitting a defendant would not. Double jeopardy or something, I think. But is there any way a juror could be held on something if they admit to blatant politics or other irrelevant factors?

Well, according to Grok, there is only one sure fire a convicted defendant could get a new trial based on juror bias: racial bias. If a juror said, "I convicted because he's black", that would do it.

Jury reasoning is otherwise pretty much "unimpeachable", and gender, political, religious, etc reasons have generally been allowed. IOW, "I voted to convict because I hate men in general" would not be enough. Such things can, but only under extraordinary circumstances.

So racial bias is the only way to pierce that unimpeachability.

If they lied during voir dire, they could be held in contempt, I think. That would also allow maybe for a new trial (for a conviction).

If a juror admits to doing something "external", ie "doing their own research" on the defendant or other evidence, that can also trigger contempt and maybe a new trial for a conviction.

271 Another interesting in-between thing that might be able to impeach juror deliberations is if a juror had specialized knowledge (think say an MD sitting on a jury in a malpractice case, which wouldn't be allowed in the first place).

If a juror lied about that during voir dire, that would trigger it for sure. But supposed that juror slipped through the cracks.

If the juror used his own specialized knowledge to influence other jurors, that would likely be a problem.

And say it were an acquittal, the defendant would still get off, double-jeopardy wise, but that would allow contempt and other charges to be brought against the juror.

About 500 a year by their parents. I'm not sure of the split between mothers and fathers. I wouldn't be surprised if mothers are well north of 50% of that.

But if they were bullying the cucks on the jury with this, that might be enough to investigate and start asking questions of the jurors.

What triggers is if a juror's specialize knowledge or experience amounts to bringing in evidence or expert testimony that is not subject to cross-examination and the rules of evidence.

No, but historically they didn't.

It was not uncommon in the north for many blacks to settle in urban areas because that's where a lot of the jobs were located. When I first moved to the south shore it was also a pain in the ass to commute, basically one road in from the south shore and not much in the way of mass transit.

It's changing like a lot of places but as RMBS noted outside of Brockton, Plymouth County was pretty white.

It was not uncommon in the north for many blacks to settle in urban areas because that's where a lot of the jobs were located. When I first moved to the south shore it was also a pain in the ass to commute, basically one road in from the south shore and not much in the way of mass transit.

Maybe it wasn't reported heavily in your area but I can assure you it was widely reported in the Boston area.

Some of it was racism. Some of it was parents objecting to having their kids bussed to schools far away that they didn't want their kids to attend. And it wasn't just whites. Lot of black parents didn't like the idea either.

My folks did. Back in the 60's they traveled in Texas to meet a family friend, and stopped off at a place to get some food. The sign outside the restaurant said "No Dogs, N*****s or Mexicans Allowed"...they needed to eat, so Dad got the food to go.

UPDATE: Sadly, I was right. The holdout juror was doxxed yesterday by several users on X. All because
@NBC10Boston
showed a graphic with the following info:

• The juror's DOB
• The original charge (265/13M/B-0 A&B ON FAMILY / HOUSEHOLD MEMBER c265 §13M(a))
• The date of the arrest
• The date of the arraignment
• The location of the court

In fact, I was easily able to do a search on http://masscourts.org, enter the details, and put two and two together to figure out what his name is (which I will not be providing here.)

But the fact remains: there is no way that I — or anyone else — would have been able to track down his info without the details that NBC Boston provided.

I hope he gets a lawyer and sues the hell out of them.

There are quite a few blacks and minorities working in hospitality (and other labor jobs) in VT, especially in or near vacation resorts. I'm not calling them liars, but it would be very unusual for white people in VT to be so isolated from minorities that they would stare at them like aliens.

Is she a toucher? Some women are very happy and smile a lot, very friendly, and it might give a guy the thought that they were interested.

That is fair, I agree. Men who screw up are very much more likely to be punished and when punished punished more. If we were more willing to do so with women, then perhaps there might be less of this kind of crazy.

But should we punish women like we do men? Is there not a societal need to protect women at least somewhat from the consequences of their own actions? And if so, does that not mean maybe women should be prevented from the same level of responsibility and difficulty as men?

That's how the balance used to work, a recognition that women must be protected and are innately less rational (on average) than men (on average) and more likely to be hormonally unstable? Is that unreasonable?

I think both are about the past more than the present. I mean Boston had clubs that excluded Jews and blacks into the 80s. The south literally did have people actually lynch black people for being uppity. Did that represent even a large minority of the people there? Nah. But it was real in a way it was not in, say, Arizona.

I live in Oregon which has an outrageously racist past. The Klan was huge here. Our population of black people in my home town of 40k when I was i high school had five black people. I knew both of the black kids. That's how effective the state's policies and antics against blacks coming to the state were.

Its not like that any more but I can easily see how people would associate Oregon with bigotry.

But how did they get there in the first place? Jury selection!
Judge William Sullivan, prosecution attorneys Jennifer Sprague and Shanan Buckingham, and defense attorney Kevin Reddington did a very poor job of vetting jurors for the case.
I can understand the defense attorney selecting Karens, but the prosecutors were either inexperienced, stupid, or complicit in an acquittal outcome.
Judge William Sullivan did not properly direct the jury as to what their limitations were in the decision process. Those jurors thought that their job was to empower white women (undefinable to the left) in making their own decisions regardless of loss of life.
This should be a case study in all law schools as to how not to conduct a trial.
Judge William Sullivan is not worthy of 'The Bench'!
