DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullins: We Know Ilhan Omar Married Her Brother to Defraud the Immigration System. We're Investigating Her Now.

Trump's top immigration official claims an internal investigation found that Congresswoman Ilhan Omar 'married her brother' and could be facing deportation.
'We know that she married her brother to try to bring him into the United States,' Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said of the Minnesota Democrat. 'We know he lives now in London.'
He was speaking about the second man Omar married, who the Daily Mail has previously reported is Ahmed Elmi. Both are originally from Somalia.
She allegedly was still married to her first husband, Ahmed Hirsi, at the time of the second marriage, the congresswoman has told friends who relayed the account to the Daily Mail.
Omar has long denied the allegations. She has since remarried a third time and is wed to political consultant Tim Mynett.
Mullin told conservative pundit Benny Johnson that Omar's actions amounted to 'possible illegal activity' and the investigation is 'ongoing,' breaking a standard where officials typically do not discuss active investigations.
'We're investigating,' he said before threatening to deport her should the investigation warrant such a dramatic action.
'There's no expiration to that,' he said of the potential charges. 'If we can prove it that, maybe you shouldn't have been here in the first place, we'll deport you.'

Mullin appeared to be alluding to potential immigration documents being falsified, which would be a deportable offense. That plan could face difficulty given Omar became a naturalized US citizen in 2000, when she was 17.

Abdihakim Osman, a past friend of Omar, told the Mail in 2020 that Omar said she wanted to get her brother papers so he could stay in the United States, at a time when she was married to her first husband Ahmed Hirsi.
But hardly anyone realized that meant marrying him.
'No one knew there had been a wedding until the media turned up the marriage certificate years later,' Osman exclusively told Daily Mail at the time.
Omar married her first husband, Hirsi, in 2002 in a Muslim ceremony that, like many in the immigrant community, was not registered with the state.
The first report that Omar and her husband were siblings appeared on the website Somalispot in 2016.
It said of Elmi: 'As soon as Ilhan Omar married him he started university at her alma mater North Dakota State University where he graduated in 2012.'

'When we move forward,' Mullin said as if the case against Omar is imminent, 'it's not political.'
The Department of Homeland Security office did not deny Mullin's claims that Omar did indeed marry her brother.

HOMAN: I'm not going to comment on an ongoing criminal investigation. I know things are going on. But I can't get specifics of what's happening. But we'll see. I mean, if someone committed immigration violation and someone committed marriage fraud or anything like that, regardless if they're a congresswoman or not, no one's above the law, so I'll leave it at that. We'll let, HSI, Homeland Security Investigations, continue the investigation.
HEINRICH: Okay. So you're confirming that there is an investigation into Congresswoman Omar.
HOMAN: I'm confirming that ICE is - yeah. Look, I said months ago, that is something that's been reported and it needs to be looked at.

HEINRICH: Okay... She is, though, a naturalized U.S. citizen.... I guess what I'm asking is, is there a naturalization case that is being brought against her?
HOMAN: Look, you know, I've been around 40 years and we've done de-nats cases. We have denaturalized citizens based on fraud, based on lying on their applications or lying through the process, misrepresenting themselves, or maybe misrepresenting organizations they belong to or beliefs they have. But denaturalization is a process. It's a very serious process. So if someone lies through that process to becoming a citizen, and we can prove they in fact lied or misrepresented themselves, we can absolutely denaturalize them. We've done it before many times over the last 40 years I've been around. So it's a process.
HEINRICH: And then just knowing how this is going to be received, you know what what would you say to the Democrat critics who are just going to make the argument that this is a politically motivated, pursuit?
HOMAN: There's nothing political about it. ICE is enforcing law that Congress wrote. I mean, these are all laws that are in statute.

We had a showing of our house Saturday morning. Only 2 showed up, which was disappointing. We have 2 offers, but one is too low and the other is close, but we'd like to see a little higher numbers.

Spent that afternoon in the ER with the First Lady whom actually passed her kidney stone causing her all the pain while we were there, so it was a short visit.

Yesterday was rest...........didn't even drink anything but water.

also once it's better you need to lift in a targeted way. shoulders are fixable! exercise works once it is healed enough (and DMSO moves that along)

I think that legislators and judges should all have to be natural-born citizens too, just like POTUS. Heck, call it elected and Senate-confirmed offices, so it includes Cabinet members. The naturalized citizens can be happy with having a vote.

We have seen over and over how immigrants do not really grok American culture and social norms, attempting to impose those from the shithole that they fled like it's just common sense. Even 2nd-gen immigrants can be very sketchy on basic Bill of Rights matters where they should really know better, but it wouldn't be practical to restrict offices that far.

I beg to differ as I have never seen news that DiGenova was targeting Omar. Omar had little to do with Russia Russia and it could be that DiGenova was trying to expand the scope, he was complaining about needing a lot more resources and I think Main Justice told him to shut it and produce first before getting more.

Omar's problems were always centered on whatever DHS could dig up on immigration and whatever other agencies could dig up on links to financial fraud.

One could say that the Democrat party is a criminal conspiracy against the entire Constitution but you have to make specific cases of either pleas or convictions where you can before expanding a scope of investigation.

Most of the media is outright fraudulent in their election coverage as an outright wing of the Democrat party and pollsters are part of media now. This makes the whole polling/prediction shuffle obviously dubious as every damn election year, you see the same patterns of overstating Democrat strength and underplaying GOP.

Tired of it and simply ignore that shit nowadays. Simply put, we will know more by the end of September than we do now, and even more the last week or so before November. And that is discounting whether Trump does anything on election security, or criminal cases drop, Iran surrenders, etc.
