Same. I just remember one where the robot ejected one arm for some tactical purpose and flew off which would add up to some real money. Another was one dude concealed his 80 foot robot under a tarp on a huge wide truck in Siberia. I doubt there are a lot of roads that wide anywhere, much less Siberia.

She'd brought in a mouse, which escaped into the rest of the house.
We found out today, when the appliance guy showed up, that the dishwasher is not working because it chewed a hole in the hose. It also chewed bits out of the sponge mat in my sewing room.
Good news is its corpse was in the trap in the utility room when we got home from Waco yesterday.

Being an Iowanian I really should know a lot about cattle. But I don't. They do a lot of grazing on National Forest land.

One minute, no cows. Next minute, many cows. They do respond to "Git!" and "Yah!!!" pretty well. But they don't have much, or any, long term memory maybe.

Out of 80,000 possible acres of grass, the grass just under your trailer or camper or pickup, why, that's JUST the perfect, tender stuff. They can be quiet when they want to be. And I thought they laid down at night and went to sleep. Not necessarily. They look kinda spooky in flashlight. Green eyes, spaced really far apart.

I have some of their cousins in my freezer right now, so I try to cut them some slack.

You do need an open view of the sky in a particular direction, but the app helps you position the antenna and it evens maps obstructions. We have lots of trees where I am using one and so far it's been great and very reliable.

I observed 180 watts max. It can be set to go to sleep and wake up and it drops to about 40 I think.

That's 180 watts on a 120v transformer, about 1.5 amps.

The Starlink mini does draw quite a bit right at startup, that's why it can have problems with a direct battery feed. Voltage sag. It needs steady juice of sufficient current to complete the boot up.

No, for straight DC battery power, the ampere-hour, or milliamperes is all ya need to know. As the voltage drops, the current draw increases, this is true.

But it's still straight arithmetic, and easily grokked. They just don't want to be too clear on their battery capacity in the advertisements. It's obvious.

My BIL who lives outside of Nikiski (basically, nowhere) uses both a windmill and solar panels to charge his batteries in case of an outage. We don't get much daylight in the winter, so wind makes a fair amount of sense then. He has always had plenty of power to run the house and appliances when the power takes a digger. He also has it all computerized and monitored remotely so when they are out of state he can make sure all is working correctly.

That seems like a lot of work to me, but it works for him.

No panels make their max rating except under perfect perfect conditions. The best I've seen out of four of my current 400w panels was about 1400w, and that didn't last long. Expect maybe 80-90% on good days.

Those panels were $250 each. They are big but do make free electricity, after you get done paying for the panels, that is.

Tonight she had egg drop soup, but did not eat much, so I brought her chocolate chip cookies. She weighs 98 pounds on a good, day, she has to eat something! She is breaking them all up and chewing slowly. But the best part was when she told J “these are real cookies! They don’t taste like cardboard and sadness!”

The first day or 2 after installment and subsequent adjustments were the worst! Just constant low-level pain. *Chewing* was a non-starter. Lots of soups and ibuprofen.

We got her wisdom teeth taken out as part of our prep so that won’t happen and will get permanent retainers at the end. This has been a small fortune, I want the investment to stay! I never had braces so appreciate the perspective.

216 My son had a couple of fused baby teeth, followed by adult teeth every darned which way. He had braces for nearly three years to sort that mess out. Luckily he kept track of his retainers long enough to make it last. That was not a sure thing, but he did it.

My mom didn't think I was worth the cost of braces, so I have had cracked and miserable teeth most of my life.

It is worth it if you love your kids, and it will change their adult life.

Had the bands put on and was wired up the same day. About 3 hours later, eating a jujyfruit candy, the pain kicked in.

OMG ... the next 24 hours were something I never want to experience ever again .

Does kiddo have brackets on front or "invisible" back of teeth? Mine were front, secured to the shaping wire with flexi-bands. (first go-round, was all wired. ouch)

Sometimes the brackets irritate cheeks or lips-- little packages of beeswax can be had, to smoosh over the offending hardware.

There are 1000s on Amazon and some are fine. The good thing about Amazon is you can get them and see what they produce and if they are not up to snuff you can send them back, no questions asked. Just don't expect 100% of the rated capacity, except under the very best of conditions, from any panel.

We did ceramic because the work she needs is too much for Invisalign, which is what she wanted. The ceramic brackets aren’t as noticeable as the metal ones, though you can still see the wires. She got a backpack full of goodies from the orthodontist with wax, a ton of toothbrushes, flossers, who knows what else is in there.
