Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., is now pushing Republicans to pass the bill's main mandates via the budget reconciliation process, which allows the party in power to pass sweeping fiscal policy without input from the minority due to its sidelining of the Senate filibuster. Rep. Bryan Steil, R-Wis., chairman of the Committee on House Administration, is tasked with overseeing how that part of the bill gets done. "I'd rather pass the SAVE America Act. But recognizing that the Senate might not be able to get that done with the 60-vote threshold, let's leverage the parliamentary procedure, bring that threshold down to 50, and get some really commonsense reforms done," Steil told Fox News Digital in an interview. "I've been having great conversations with my colleagues in the administration as well as the Senate."Thune and the other corporatist whores are the problem, and they are embedded into the Republican Party far too deeply for them to be sidelined by a procedural play. That they are rejecting a bill that has the support of the vast majority of Americans is shocking in and of itself, but the fact that they are unrepentant makes it worse. They are pissing on us and gleefully telling us that it is raining! What can be done about this? Obviously Thune and anyone who supports him must go. At the very least, he must be challenged for Majority Leader. Senator Rick Scott has already announced that he has not committed to voting for Thune again, so there are cracks in the collegiality of the Senate. And that's a good start, but an aggressive campaign against Thune is overdue. Perhaps President Trump should announce that if Thune doesn't support voting security that he will actively campaign against him in 2028. Marginalize him, mock him, ridicule him for subverting the will of the American people...but do not allow the status quo to continue. Mitch, Thune, Kemp, Murcow, etc. all come from states with past histories of voter fraud and I think it is clear that AZ is also one of those states due to McCain etc.

So of course the citizens rush out to support candidates on city council who want to end it right? Nope. City council is populated exclusively by pro-growth types bought and paid for by the real estate industry. And they get re elected every 2 years like clock work with healthy margins.

Further, I've really held back with the broader R federal donations this year. There's already plenty of $, play & walking around money, and those in Congress now need to get off their high horses and represent their real constituents.

The reason the Central American dictatorships were so completely insane in the 60's is that their funding and support in no way came from within their own country, and in no way required any accountability for any action or policy. Blue states are much the same, and I think they will have to come to some sort of sanity, like Central America, once the free goodies and covert support goes away.

Did 20 mins of birdwatching this AM, sandy spot along the river where the shore birds gather. Sojourned with a great blue heron for most of that time. He challenged me to the one-leg stand, and won as usual. Saw some small brown ducks dabbling, but I didn't have my binoculars handy to positively ID them.

It's interesting that Pete Bootyjudge (honestly, I have no idea how he really spells his name) is re-raising the specter of SCOTUS court packing. There are too many uncooperative justices and his solution is to swamp them with people like Talwani and Boasberg. Personally I doubt Democrats will die on that hill, but you never know. Communists fight the long game and might decide that is a necessary thing.
