There are 2 things I believe are the biggest sins, above all others, and are the most selfish of them all.

1. Suicide
1a. Abortion

They've just changed the game to include babies. Because they're selfish twats that think their lives are infinitely more important than everything else.

I hate what the left has done to the world. Hate is a strong word. It is warranted in this case.........

I agree. The painting is much too beautiful to be associated with a mention of that horrible woman.

Posted by: Tuna at September 09, 2026 09:57 AM (lJ0H4)

63 Lovely scene and painting. One of her more realistic works with almost no Impressionistic aspects. Everything is bright and light: the clothes and bed linen and cup. That makes the very natural skin tones really stand out, framed against the white items. This is one of the most realistic works by Cassatt I've seen.

What makes the painting so effective are the poses and facial expressions. The child is focused entirely on the breakfast. The mother, even though still waking up, is entirely focused on the child, holding the kid secure and watching the reactions of innocence. It is a very intimate, positive image.

100 Never knew what this picture was, but a torn copy of it is on my kitchen cabinet door, given to my wife Mothers Day 2010. We had been having a rough spot after my losing my job of nearly thirty years, and her being a bit worried about our future. Approaching our empty nest days. Had just gotten back from a three week driving get away, and things were really looking up, and I had just found new employment.
A month and a half later she woke up dead.
The picture is still on the cabinet, I see it every day. It still makes me smile, the kid looks like our first, and the woman is reminiscent of my wife.

We watched the 5th Season of "Fauda' on Netflix.

For those, unfamiliar with the series, it deals with an Israeli anti-terrorist squad.

This season deals with Oct 7th and it's aftermath as well as trying to prevent a new "Oct 7th'.

It's very well done. Very well written and acted. Directed crisply.

I highly recommend watching it.

Posted by: Biff Pocoroba at September 09, 2026 10:27 AM (XvL8K)

The problem with most of this stat reckoning to my mind is a couple things:

How do you define 'killed'? Shot in the head? Beaten to death with clubs? Gassed? When you start getting into starved, displaced into internal exile and left to fend for themselves, etc it starts to get a lot muddier.

Germans being germans, most were direct killing. And meticulously chronicled.

Now the Soviets and the Chinese did all of that, but they also had a LOT of people who were either starved to death through collectivization or exposure to the elements. That one island where Stalin dropped off thousands of prisoners with no structures or shelter and just gave them building materials. They did not exactly kill them, but they killed them.

That is what is so funny about the CHAZ. Them trying to farm? THAT was collectivization in the soviet union, except on a grand scale and they could not dip out of the area to get some food from a 7-11. Holodomor as both planned and unplanned.

It’s not new, right at the time Egypt said that their intelligence service informed both Israel and the US that their contacts had heard that something was up, that some kind of attack was planned. BUT it wasn’t very specific, other than being some kind of attack, and both the Israelis and the US pretty much blew it off as same old thing as ever.

I think the greater fault was why the IDF took almost 12 hours to respond. There’s never been any big public examination of how that happened, and I suspect it’s because everyone on all sides in Israel made so many mistakes that they all agreed to just let it lay.

Take the claim with a meteor size lump of salt. It may be decades before we know what was and wasn't known and who's to blame more than whom.

A purge is needed.

Carried a S&W 40 cal for a number of years on the job. The joke was, if you ran out of bullets, you could bludgeon someone to death with it. It was a brick. When we finally switched to Glocks, my shooting improved greatly. YMMV, or course.
Posted by: Ex Rex Reeder at September 09, 2026 10:55 AM (QaH55)

I will admit, I've only shot the Glock a couple of times, but the off-putting feeling both times made me stop giving it chances. I've not shot one in a long time and newer models may've corrected the issues I had.

191 Dryer lint traps catch most, though not all. Over time it builds up in the ductwork. Real fire hazard, it is not adviseable to dry laundry and then drive away from home to go shopping, say, generally speaking.

Take the ductwork apart and clean it out. Our vintage Kenmore or whatever it was, from 1977 was still going strong a couple years ago when I sold it. I did open up the plenum and intake and such and clean that out at one point. It had a nice exhaust note after that. Job well done!

No digital crap, no wi-fi, no LCDs to hork. It had a mechanical bell, to let you know when stuff was just dry enough.

I'm leaning toward this claim being re-ignited is an effort of the media and leftists (but I repeat myself) attempting to point fingers at Netanyahu as "allowing it to happen to declare war on 'palestinians.'"

If you've spent any amount of time shooting other handguns, the grip angle on a Glock will be a big adjustment.

I have a Glock 17, it's fine for a full-size handgun, but my carry is a P365XL and I much prefer the feel of that one.

197 I think the greater fault was why the IDF took almost 12 hours to respond. There’s never been any big public examination of how that happened, and I suspect it’s because everyone on all sides in Israel made so many mistakes that they all agreed to just let it lay.
Posted by: Tom Servo at September 09, 2026 10:54 AM (UJfh6)

The response was held up by all the political ramifications being considered. Israel finally said, fuck it,we're going to kill as many of those fuckers as we can in the shortest amount of time.

I have a Remington 1911. LOVE that gun. It's just too big for me to conceal carry. My carry gun, a Taurus 709 slim is Ok.....the grip is small and I don't shoot it the greatest, but it feels alright in the hand and is in no way bulky or uncomfortable.

Posted by: Comrade Flounder, Disinformation Demon at September 09, 2026 10:33 AM (dK+Kv) I'm just not a Glock fan. Found the weapon to be very uncomfortable in my hand and the trigger wasn't all that good a pull, either. If I have to spend all that money modifying a gun that's already that expensive, I'll pass. Posted by: Sponge - F*ck Cancer at September 09, 2026 10:34 AM (ccf/V)

________________________________

I, too, am no Glock-boi. It's an uncomfortable weapon to hold. I have Col. Colt's fine piece of mechanical engineering in .45 caliber and it works just fine. It's also a better hold than Glock.
