Some people deleted some tweets about some people doing some things.

Michigan Senate hopeful Dr. Abdul El-Sayed scrubbed an old tweet trashing America on the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, as he faces mounting pressure from Democrats to disavow far-left streamer Hasan Piker.
In the now-deleted tweet, El-Sayed mourned the terrorist attack that killed nearly 3,000 and then noted that he planned to grieve the deaths he blamed on America over the wars that followed.
"Today, I mourn the 3K lives, 6K injuries, & infrastructural devastation in NYC, perpetrated ignorantly in the name of my faith," El-Sayed wrote on Twitter, as it was then called.

"Tomorrow, I'll mourn ~1M lives, millions of injuries, & infrastructural devastation in 3 countries, perpetrated ignorantly in the name of my country."

That appears to be a reference to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the fighting that took place in Pakistan during the 2000s.
It's not entirely clear when he scrubbed that tweet, which was first uncovered by the Washington Free Beacon, but has gained renewed attention as the country approaches the 25th anniversary of the attack.
A copy of the since-deleted tweet has been saved on the Wayback Machine.

During his campaign, El-Sayed has faced scrutiny over his ties to Piker, with whom he stumped on the final day of his Democratic primary campaign.
Piker infamously said in 2019 that "America deserved 9/11," before later, very begrudgingly, sort of conceding it was an "inappropriate" comment. He was later spotted with a framed copy of a front-page newspaper showing the Twin Towers in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, attack.
Piker, a multimillionaire socialist, also defended the US-designated terrorist group Hezbollah, gushed over the "brave mujahideen" who injured outgoing Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas), and contended that the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack was a "direct consequence" of Israeli actions. He also said that if Hamas engaged in rape, it "doesn't change the dynamic for me."
In the time since, Piker has tried to claim that he was joking and that critics don't understand streaming culture.

"Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed has so far refused to condemn the words of Hasan Piker, his friend and frequent campaign surrogate," Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.) said in a statement.
"It is disingenuous for El-Sayed to try and distance himself from Piker without specifically condemning, refuting, or even just rejecting Piker's hateful rhetoric."

El-Sayed has tried to downplay his ties to Piker, arguing the campaign is about his policies, not a streamer from California. But he repeatedly campaigned with Piker during the primary and has refused to disavow him.

Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed must know he's in trouble because he's apologizing to, get this, Jews, over his justification/minimization of a fellow Muslim's murder of Jewish children at a synagogue by saying "Hurt people hurt people."

Michigan's Democratic Senate nominee, Abdul El-Sayed, met individually with Jewish party leaders over the weekend to apologize for controversial statements he made in the past. The meetings are part of an effort to win over skeptical Jewish Democrats, CNN reported.
"I don't ever want my comments to hurt anybody's feelings. It's important to me that people understand that I take seriously the pain of all communities in this state," El-Sayed told CNN.
El-Sayed declined to discuss his relationship with Hasan Piker, a far-left Twitch streamer who campaigned with El-Sayed during the primary, saying it's "not a serious conversation." Piker had told his audience earlier this month that the issue of Israel has become so toxic that American Jews who support the country could be met with retaliation.
"If Jews in America keep putting this idea out there that they are singularly invested in Israel, eventually someone is going to come around and take action, not against the state of Israel, mind you, but against American Jews," Piker said earlier this month.

Richner has worked with El-Sayed since at least his 2018 campaign for Michigan governor, according to previous social media posts. On May 26, 2020, the day after George Floyd died, Richner wrote: "I don't care if it's scary or makes you uncomfortable. I have to imagine their are ads like that in other battleground states linking any Dem running with the asylum people.

The North Atlantic usually gets less storms and hurricanes because of increased wind shear while (which is proving true - we’re only on storm F which just formed today) the North Pacific gets the opposite less shear, warmer water and lots more storms.

China has been getting hammered with flood after flood all summer.

I think that was the cause, a lot if upstream rainfall, but the media will call it climate change and everybody will nod and go on with their day.

We've drank pretty deeply from the "diversity is our strength" bowl when the opposite is true (homogeneity is our strength, so strong all sorts of weirdos and outsiders can harmlessly orbit around the core of normalcy that homogeneity provides). It was an inconsequential ruling for a number of reasons. First, Trump ignored the case and the ballroom is 65% done, and they didn't stop building waiting for the decision. They are knocking it out with a 24 hour schedule...which means by the time they get another lawsuit rolling it will be completed. The second reason the ruling is inconsequential is because it only found the suing party didn't have standing (some historical society or some entity of the like). Thirdly, the lower courts said the WH required congress to rule on funding to build it. Only, Honey Badger don't care. He's just building it anyway. Make them knock it down when it's done. Roberts wanted to give the National Trust for Historic Preservation standing. That's all this decision was about.
