I can't get past the reality of this artist...he embraced the revolution and communism, and was part of the official art of the Soviet Union.

Whether that was out of necessity or belief is irrelevant. Too many artists fought against it to allow this man any leeway.

I can look at a work of art and admire the talent behind it. But knowing the background for the painter and the circumstances can remove my admiration for the image and the man.

Media including social is one big op and that includes Never Trumper doomicans. Best to ignore their tripe until after the election. The party bases have flipped. The working class/college educated or less and rural areas are no longer Democrat bastions but require expensive turnout measures--the Democrat gimmedats urban experience is all cheat no voters in places like Detroit and the pampered college and greater class has been trending D and socialist for decades. Higher SES are more likely to vote and Dems have a far greater share of that now in 2026 than in 1976.

The older GOP strategist types have not changed their tactics to fit the new environment--they want to run negative ads, mailers, robocalls, and other bullshit that makes them money--those were designed for the 80's to drive down turnout by FUD. The new base of the GOP wants real positive action to help them like SAVE, no boys in girl lockerrooms, tariffs/fair trade, etc. GOPe officeholders hate that idea.

GOP has traditionally done this since forever. The idea was that the GOP needed to focus its messaging when people will remember it and when a lot of their base had returned from vacay, trips, etc. In part, it was done because traditionally late July and August were primary months. Now, it is May or even earlier and runoffs later in some states.

The rise of early voting where ballots are being banked in September in many states is something that I don't think GOP strategists have quite figured out now. Trump won in 2024, in part, because he embraced early voting and got his votes in from the rural whites and working class as EV. GOP is going to have to embrace early in person voting.

Also prevented some last minute tricks like the voting machine shutdown fiasco that the Dems did in 2022 with Maricopa County on election day.

I see the same problems with coalitions on the left in Euroland. Gays have realized that the Islamists are a deadly threat and so you started seeing non political gays fleeing leftists parties for the right.

Euro parties were set up primarily on the grounds of competing over economics--not the harder questions of identity and thus are foundering in this new era and the threat from Islam there is obvious--Islamists in the UK have already started leaving Labour and running now as openly Islamist candidates. I think this will spread across Euroland as the Islamists have a lot more in common with each other than with the rest of their countrymen or their no longer useful leftist ally parties.

The leftists in Euroland thought they could use the Islamists to win elections forever against the conservatives. All they did was destroy their own societies.

As for this painting, I don't find it offensive. It's nicely painted, in a style that reminds me a bit of Cezanne; the models are pleasant to look at, without the foam-flecked lips or steely eyes of fanatics. I'd much rather deal with these women than, say, with the ones flocking to Hasan Piker rallies.
