The Left's New Charlie Manson, Dreamboat Killer Luigi Mangione, Pleads Guilty to Federal Stalking Resulting in a Death, Admits He Murdered Brian Thompson

If he's killed in prison, it's your fault.

Do better.

Luigi Mangione pleaded guilty to federal stalking charges and admitted in federal court on Friday that he shot and killed a health care executive in Manhattan in 2024.

"I shot Mr. Thompson in Manhattan. I understood that my actions would place him in fear of death of bodily injury. I knew what I was doing was illegal," Mangione told the judge, the New York Times reported.

Judge Margaret M. Garnett accepted the plea and said she will sentence Mangione on Dec. 18. He faces a maximum of life in prison.

Mangione, 28, was not charged with murder in the federal case, which accused him only of stalking Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare. He still faces a murder charge in state court, which is scheduled to go to trial next month.

In federal court, Mangione faced one count of interstate stalking resulting in death and one count of stalking through use of interstate facilities resulting in death. Both charges carry a maximum potential sentence of life in prison.

And he'd better get life in prison. I'm seeing on twitter that New York state has a more expansive definition of double jeopardy than most states, or the feds, do. Double jeopardy usually applies for the exact same charges. So in most jurisdictions, a conviction for stalking with intent to kill would not result in a bar for prosecuting this scumbag for murder under New York state law.

But apparently in New York, a judge might rule that the charges are close enough so that double jeopardy does apply.

So if we don't get life in prison... well, this plea might wind up wiping out the New York state prosecution.

20 Today's Legal term of the day is "Premeditation"

______________________________

When you build your own gun to be used one time in a stalking murder cumulatively over a thousand miles from your residence and the victim's residence. It MIGHT be premeditated.

Alternatively, it may be a standard Marvel Movie depending on seredipidous happenstance.

21 There's clearly some legal strategy here where the fix is in.

I'll be honest, I think it was a coin flip he would even get convicted at all. I can't believe the amount of people that somehow equate hating their health ins company and thinking that justifies murdering a CEO.

So I guess if a Medicare or Medicaid bureaucrat gets gunned down, totally fair game.

36 Okay, I asked Brave AI what the sentence range was for his charges and I got this,

"The recommended baseline sentence for federal stalking with violence is derived from USSG §2A6.2, which sets a base offense level of 18. This level increases by 2 levels for specific aggravating factors such as bodily injury, violation of a protection order, or use of a dangerous weapon, and by an additional 4 levels if multiple aggravating factors are present.

Key sentencing components include:

Base Offense Level: 18 for stalking or domestic violence under federal guidelines.
Aggravating Enhancements: An increase of 2 levels for a single aggravating factor (e.g., bodily injury or weapon use) and 4 levels for multiple factors.
Statutory Maximums: While the guideline range starts at level 18, statutory penalties under 18 U.S.C. § 2261A can range from 5 years to life imprisonment if the stalking results in death.
Recent Precedent: In recent high-profile cases involving stalking resulting in death, prosecutors have recommended sentences ranging from 24 to 30 years or life imprisonment, depending on the severity and specific circumstances. "

In past cases (Rodney King, etc)…cops would get put on trial for assault, etc. This would be a state trial. They would be found Not Guilty. The Fed’s would then take a shot at them. But not for assault. They would charge them with conspiring to violate their civil rights. They got a conviction. Different type of charge = no double jeopardy.

I think that may happen if the jury selection and pretrial rulings on excluding evidence goes poorly for the defense. Take the plea to save the life and if the state refuses, then try your best to not argue so much on guilt but save it for sentencing as the jury must impose a death sentence, not the judge.

Were there recent cases where the victim was only mostly dead?

Heh. Ask AI yourself. But the sentencing guidelines you can actually put in the specific guideline at some defense attorney websites and it will spit out the sentencing range. Pretty funny and sobering at the same time.

Useful though for frequent fliers for defense attorneys I suppose as that sort of lawyer specializes in contacts with the prosecution and court to get a plea deal on the best terms you might get.

My wife used to be an attorney for abused children (guardian ad litem). She would come home from work and tell me over dinner about the sh*t conditions some innocent child had to face.

It took a while, but the "husband" portion of my brain eventually processed that was her means of moving on.

I, on the other hand, have an over-developed sense of vengeance. I woke up absolutely enraged at 3AM on multiple occasions.

Fortunately (for me), I was smart enough to stay far away from that courthouse.

122 Women supporting her are total idiot loons.

Matt Walsh tied it to these same women wanting the ability to "abort" their children at any time after the kid is born for the same reasons that they should be able to abort their child during gestation.

I think it is simpler than that. The problem moral people have is that they project their vocabulary of morality on to people who have none. The idea that "you take from me is wrong. I take from you is right" is how most of humanity sees morality. Even "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" has underlying it the vocabulary of morality, that is why the pseudo-moral injection of "ability" and "need" to justify the theft.

Today's Leftist women do not know God and have reverted to the amoral state where:

People do not understand how unique Christianity is in terms of world religion. Exposing unwanted children or selling them into slavery is the human norm. Christians were looked on as weird when they raised foundlings as their own rather than enslave them.

As we re-paganize, we're getting all the same things the pagans did, like normalizing adultery, mainstreaming sodomy, infanticide and now the slave trade (via surrogate mothers).
