The movie is a sequel to Run Hide Fight, itself about (I think) students evading and then confronting a school shooter. This one's called Run Hide Fight: Infidels.

It stars Jonathan Majors, who was a much-promoted actor a few years ago before he was accused of physical abuse of a girlfriend. (Though the charges are sketchy and I don't know if they're true or not.) Aiding in his cancellation was his low reputation among his fellow actors, who thought he was an egotistical asshole and would not defend him.

So Jonathan Majors is taking the same path that Armie Hammer just did: cancelled actor agrees to star in a movie that is Made of Weapons-Grade Cancellation Atoms as part of a would-be comeback.

Eh, I'm interested.

While it's possible that Tucker is being even more sinister -- that he means "Global Jewry" -- the most likely (and only other reasonable) possibility for the "they" is the State of Israel. ("Neocons" in America wouldn't make sense, because they often can't get their own kids into Harvard Law, let alone launch successful businesses.)
Regardless, it is a sign of just how deep Tucker has plunged into the abyss that he believes such an insane theory that Israel (or Global Jewry) "created" Ben Shapiro and manufactured his every success.
The more troubling thing, though, is that Tucker is willing to say it out loud.
But worst of all is that he's not yet hit bottom.
Which means it will only get darker and more bizarre from here.

The awful cannibal movie Green Inferno has a similar plot. A bunch of leftwing environuts go deep into the jungle to save the rainforest from an evil logging company. They run into cannibals, get eaten alive, and then the few survivors are rescued at the end with the help of the loggers. Movie sucked ass -- but it was fun to watch these whiny commies get theirs.

Here's a non-recommendation: the low-budget Spanish time travel movie "Timecrimes." Just kind of low-key interesting but not really good. Not enough to make me want to share it.

I mention it because it gets recommended a lot. It's not horrible, but the low budget is a problem, and it just never gets really good.

There's no way for me to even hint at what the twist is without giving it away. I recommend not reading about the film before watching it.

What Dead of Night is famous for is being the first "anthology"-style horror film, in which six separate Twilight-Zone-style tales are told in a row, connected by an overarching meta-story. Almost all six of the mini-movies within the movie were very influential and were later made into standalone movies (or legendary TV episodes) of their own. The twist does not really involve any of the famous stories-within-the-story, even though they take up 95% of the screen time, but instead is about the framing meta-story, which you aren't really paying attention to until....

247 The time travel mechanism in my first book -- which I never finished -- was based on time being just another axis on the x-y-z coordinate system. Just like you could scroll back and forth on xyz, you could on "t."

But ... since the idea was that a fourth dimension in that system had to be at 90 degree angles to all the others -- just as xyz are all 90 degrees to each other -- the only way to do it was that T constantly flipped and twisted and mutated.

So it was almost impossible to "track" T such that it could be scrolled back and forth on. It wasn't until we developed ultra-computers and solved irrational numbers that we could find T and track it accurately enough to use.
