The Morning Report — 8/ 14 /26

CurtisSwirly.jpg

Good morning kids. Well let's dive right in shall we. Riffing off of my puzzlement as CBD and I pondered, or mostly yammered on about on the latest episode of the podcast (linked here as well as in the sidebar and the popular platforms listed at the bottom of this post )

What does the loss, or more likely the theft by the Democrat Party of Francesca Hong in the Wisconsin last Tuesday's Wisconsin gubernatorial primary really indicate both there and really nationally?

What I can't figure out is, are the frightening polls including by our wonderful friends at the Heartland Institute
really reflective of a national trend towards socialism, but if so then why is the Democrat Party establishment so desperate to put a muzzle on freaks like EL Sayed, Talarico and of course Hong and all the rest.

And so with that as a set-up, there's this piece...

Are there Republicans who’ve doctored their resumes? Sure. But faking your past, or your views, or the sound of your voice seems to be a job requirement for Democrat politicians these days.

The Talarico campaign distanced itself from these folks after their cover was blown. But everything about Talarico is as fake, from his Christianity to his barbecue photo op.

Around the same time, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, last seen trying out a fake southern accent at an event in Memphis, was trying to pretend that she’s not a crazy leftist despite being a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, which wants to defund the military, close prisons, open the borders, eliminate the Senate, the presidency and the Supreme Court, and nationalize various industries.

When ABC News’ Jonathan Karl asked about her past statements, she laughed that “woke 1 was crazy,” and blamed COVID because “I think that, you know, during lockdown, of course, rhetoric in that time is not rhetoric that we would use today.” . . .Our best guess is that Democrats are more likely than Republicans to do this because for most Democrats, their only interest is getting and keeping government power. They love government and want to control its every lever. And if that means pretending to be a normie for the rube voters, so be it.

But, shucks, whadda we know? We’re just a buncha gosh-darn banjo-pickin’ hillbillies from yonder flyover country.

Sure the Democrats either outright lie about their true intentions or else do their best to cover them up. To me it's another puzzler, do the Democrats really think they can bamboozle a significant portion of normal America into voting for them? But lest we forget, anyone with eyes to see and more than two functioning brain cells could plainly see the dangerous fraud that was Barack Obama and yet there he was in 2008 and then again in 2012 winning the presidency and the fuse was lit. As CBD noted on the podcast, horrid as the purple-lipped closet-queen America-hating thug was and still is, he was slick and polished enough to really fake it all the way. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens both this coming November and then two years after that to see if Trump and the MAGA movement are just speed bumps on our inevitable road to hell or if they are please God a real course correction back to American restoration.

Until then we'll be enduring this depravity.

The National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., was vandalized Thursday with red graffiti reading “Clean Hands Dirty $,” while soap dumped into its fountain filled the memorial with bubbles.

Authorities blocked off the fountain Thursday afternoon as U.S. Park Police investigated the vandalism. The Interior Department called the incident an “utter disgrace” and vowed to find whoever is responsible.

“The World War II Memorial is a sacred place to honor the service of our members of the Armed Forces and the over 400,000 Americans who gave the ultimate sacrifice in WWII,” the department said. “The vandalism that occurred is an utter disgrace and will not be tolerated.”

Were I a betting man, I'd lay odds that the piece(s) of shit that did this are registered Democrats or full on DSA freakazoids. He/She/It deserves being bull-whipped on live television preferably by any WW2 veterans of which I'm sure there'd be volunteers out the wahzoo.

And then, speaking of fakers and takers, there's this horrendous outburst for which there is no rational excuse.

Curtis Sliwa on Thursday told relatives of 9/11 victims who want New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani kept away from this year’s Ground Zero commemoration to “stop being sore losers,” arguing that they should respect the office even if they disagree with the person holding it.

“He’s the mayor. Stop being sore losers!” Sliwa told reporters Thursday. “You knew this is Zohran Mamdani. He was never a fake, phony, fraudulent, fugazi like a lot of politicians. He told you who he was.”

Yes, asshole, he told us who he was and what he said and what he is utterly underscores justification of his being barred from within 10,000 light years of Ground Zero Forever.

Curtis Sliwa's logic would allow for a furlough from prison and a limousine ride to the 9/11 ceremony for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Sliwa should only die, be cremated and his ashes dumped in the Marianas Trench next to Bin Laden. Seems appropriate.

I lost an old schoolmate and was nearly a victim myself that day, you Scumbag.

On these and all the rest of it, I nevertheless bid you all to have a great weekend!

The polls were designed to influence the vote, nothing more, nothing less. By showing "their" candidate 20+ points ahead they hoped to keep moderate democrats at home for the primary knowing the vast majority of them will pull the level in november for the democrat candidate.

48 It's not a *trend* toward anything. It's just Millennials. Their preference is for the furthest Left candidates and policies they can get. They are fanatics. They are already as far Left as it's possible to be, and are *dragging* the country behind them.

When Obama's brand of Leftism was the most potent brew on offer, they chose that. Now their own cohort is growing into power as the boomers and silents die off, so it's getting more and more potent.

Soon, a huge number of those older people will die off, leaving only the small cohort of Xers, who will not have the numbers to matter in context of the much larger Millennial generation.

Everything goes full tilt at that point, because Millennials will be able to completely actualize their politics and give us the full Mangione. That's when the DSA types drop the "D" pretense altogether, and say "we're the vanguard of the woke folk, all hail the Party and its Maximum Thought Leader, Oliver Logan al-Amriki."

50 Polls really aren't worth talking about anymore. Technology has erased the possibility of a random sample. Now all statisticians can do is make a math model.
All models are wrong. Some models are useful.
This technology change has come upon us so suddenly our attitudes haven't adjusted. Polls were the go-to indicator for decades and decades.
In fact, you couldn't get your name on a ballot without achieving some threshold in a poll somewhere.
The world has changed. Polls are now irrelevant.

54 New data shared with Senate GOP members suggest that healthcare, not voter integrity, is the big winner for Republicans.

"New Data"—No sources of this "New Data"™ are cited, which means it was pulled out of some politician's ass who is trying to flee the 90% demand for the SAVE America Act.

"Healthcare" is always an issue, if the issue is: How can we steal even more money and obtain more power in Babylon DC

Why? Because no one on planet earth can define "healthcare". Its one of the most eisegeted words used today (along with "Racism")

The other clue: "too much money is going through the insurance companies"
Translation: Babylon DC demands a bigger cut.

So instead of SAVE America Act, we are supposed to embrace even more government takeover of one-sixth the total economy.

I believe that this is yet another sign that, even when the numbers come from people who are our allies, polling is now worthless except as a propaganda tool (which is it keeps being done)
The problem is not just bias of the pollster; the problem is that the entire mathematical underpinnings of polling is no better than phrenology or divining chicken entrails. It’s like expecting pinpoint accuracy to come from reading a horoscope.

The Fox news polls are the worst though...they literally reflect nothing of reality on the ground in politics and never had - their track record is the worst among pollsters - yet the hosts of the news programs (all liberals) try and make their hapless guests answer to them...it's the point of these polls, to get conservative guests to admit somehow that no one wants them out in the heartland - it's purpose is getting them to admit to a lie.

Posted by: Boswell at August 14, 2026 08:17 AM (j10i6)

117 As to the specific Heartland study findings, when restated they are not very surprising:

“58% of likely voters aged 18-39 support government-run grocery stores in every town in America.” 58% of those 18-39 want stuff that is cheap or free and haven’t thought about it any more deeply than that.

“62% of likely voters aged 18-39 said they would support more government housing and nationwide rent freeze.” Ditto.

“44% think their economic future and personal happiness will be worse than their parents, only 22% believe it will be better.”

44% have seen the way things have gone the last 20 years and drawn a rational conclusion. It’s the job of any who wish to lead to convince them that this trend can be reversed. Very few republicans “get” this simple fact.

Because some of the people who put him in office might be there. Because if he does run his mouth you know what he'll likely say. And if it's anywhere as awful as some think, the media will have to defend it. Or not.

Some people just don't get it until it hits them in the face. If Mamdani's appearance at a 9-11 memorial opens some eyes....

Big business (and their lobbyists that work Congress over to get the desired result) couldn't care less about America. As long as they can make money by paying less in wages, that's where their loyalty lies. It's disgusting.

In reading Ron Chernow's Washington, during the Revolutionary War, Washington would be apoplectic at the big farmers and others selling their wares to the British, not because they were Loyalists, but to make a boatload of money. Who cares if the Continental Army had no provisions and barely any money to survive and just might lose the war because of it. All they cared about was the money they could make, even to the detriment of the patriots. Some things never change.

139 I don’t think polls move public opinion the way they used to, but they have long been used for that. It’s a pseudo-justification for doing things nobody wants, or not doing things everyone wants. People are herd animals, and don’t wish to be thought of as an outlier. Bogus polls are used as fodder for propaganda, part of the rhetoric. “Polls show 85% of Americans are in favor of blah blah blah, what’s wrong with you?” You must be some sort of monster, you see. It’s been very effective for a long time. “Well, everyone must want this…” Rinse, lather, repeat. You get people to stand down, and disengage.

--------

I've tried my best to explain my perspective from the start...

It's WWF style infighting. The DNC gets to push hard toward socialism without having to completely own it. Maybe in case the push goes tits up, but I think more because they have their candidate picked and it will be a "bridge" candidate that will satisfy the establishment, the normies (by seeming safe), and the DSA who will get some big wins along the way.

Like maybe the DSA get to knock Kamala or Newsom out in some showy WAY. They feel they are making their mark. This is how I expect it to go.

Always remember the Left plans 3 to 5 years in advance. They have the media, intelligence agencies, and half or more of the opposing party. This "popular" move toward socialism is a yuge psy op, not unlike covid, blm, metoo. It's designed to fool even people like us.
