This may shock you, but Planned Parenthood may be at the heart of the fraudulent billing.

Which is a nice way to say "theft."

A day after the Trump administration ended federal funding of "sex-rejecting procedures on children," otherwise known as gender affirming care, Vice President J.D. Vance and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. referred hospitals and gender clinics identified in a new HHS billing fraud report for prosecution and investigation.
Vance's letter to Attorney General Todd Blanche asks the Justice Department to investigate whether flagged providers violated the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, False Claims Act and federal fraud and conspiracy laws by "intentionally" miscoding treatment to "secure insurance coverage for gender-transitioning interventions that insurance would not otherwise cover." If so, "they should go to prison."
"More than just pushing these procedures on kids, hospitals and providers may have been defrauding Medicaid and private insurers by using misleading or fraudulent billing codes to get insurance to cover the costs," Vance said in an X thread on the report and criminal referral.

The secretary's letter identifies four fishy cohorts: claims for puberty blockers with endocrine disorder diagnosis on the same claim with "no gender diagnosis" and "no precocious puberty" diagnosis, ages 9-17; claims for puberty blockers with precocious puberty diagnosis, 13-17; claims for "primary gender dysphoria" diagnosis with a cross-sex hormone prescription "written the same day" in a state where that's prohibited for minors, 17 and younger; and affiliates to whom prescribers billed at least 95% of their claims in a prescription year and are registered at one of their addresses, all of them Planned Parenthood clinics.

Kathy Hochul received $55,000 in campaign contributions from social adult daycare centers (SADCs) in fraud-plagued Flushing, Queens, records show.
Almost half of those donations can be linked to two men: local powerbroker Baoli Zhang, and Jiemin Shang -- who own two of Flushing's biggest daycare businesses, both of which were empty of patients when visited by The Post last week.
Zhang, 69, personally donated $10,000, as well as another $5,000 through his Bao Kang Adult Day Care, financial disclosures show. Zhang's various businesses have claimed at least $32 million from Medicaid since 2018, on behalf of tens of thousands of patients.
Shang runs Livingwell Day Care, which donated $5,000 to Hochul in 2022, the same year it billed $5.8M to Medicaid. Another $5,000 came from Finest Adult Day Care, which Shang also runs.
"In 2021, [social adult daycare centers] were dying due to COVID. Someone threw them a lifeline and must have said something like, 'Take care of me, I'll take care of you.' They're making more money than ever now," an industry source claimed to The Post.
Federal figures back this up. Business has exploded at Livingwell, which billed $114,000 in 2018, a number that increased to $8.05 million in 2024. Bao Kang went from claiming $1.5M in 2018 to $7.22M by 2024. Monthly revenue for daycares across Flushing overall has nearly doubled compared to pre-pandemic numbers.
Only nine of the city's nearly 400 SADCs made contributions over $5,000 to Hochul's first gubernatorial campaign in 2022. Those same nine businesses accounted for billing Medicaid for an eyepopping $49 million in 2022, The Post's investigation found.

The inflation is occurring because we are borrowing made up money by the Federal Reserve to cover the massive deficits. Interest is now larger than the current Medicaid and Defense budgets at 1.1 trillion. This is how soft defaults begin. Devaluation of the money but the bankrupt governments trying to buy enough support to lurch further into bankruptcy for a time.

So you get subsidies that are not sustainable at the same time your interest payments start to eat up the rest of your ability to spend. So the pressure goes further to turn those printers onto max.

It is going to take leaders in the West to cross the Rubicon which in turn will provoke some horrendous backlash. Whether they are from the left or from the right remains to be seen. But this is not sustainable even now in Japan--they can't save the yen from crashing even with help.

Prosecutions are virtually meaningless. The dollar amounts involved make this analogous to the drug trade: jail or kill as many as you want, the stakes are worth the stretch, especially to groups that don't view fraud as inherently wrong as a matter of their home culture, so others will replace them. The only solution is radically shrinking the size of federal and state governments. They are fraud magnets.

I had a colleague of mine from way back reach out to me about a job at his company. I said yeah looks interesting I’ll have a conversation. So he submitted me to his company’s Workday. A few days later a recruiter from the company asked me to be a connection on LinkedIn. Then nothing. I checked on workday and my application was changed to no longer under consideration.

So I got back to my guy there and asked what’s up? Turned out the HR woman got me confused with someone else. She wanted to interview me and reject him but did an oopsie and cancelled my application. She eventually did get back in touch.

This is how fucked up hiring is these days. An endless series of workday black holes and incompetent HR people with AI slop thrown in for good measure.

I find the "affordability crisis" conversation fascinating. The left wants the discussion to begin and end with Trump. The right seems to be a bit fragmented.

Some try to argue there is no crisis and you just need to get good at cooking at home or cut back on frivolous purchases. Some try to argue it's mostly inflation due to Covid spending and other waste. Some point to more systemic issues like fraud, illegals, massive government burdens, etc.

Not necessarily. A foolish coup generally gets the participants getting the bullet. I think they go authoritarian and that is what provokes the new civil war because dominating the cities is not the same as dominating the rest of the countryside regardless of how many nukes you control or the army or whatever. Revolutions that are city based always have the weakness of cities---food, water, and trade come from the outside, not from inside the city. And our gutted cities are not strongholds in the traditional historical sense but only a bunch of hungry mouths.

Yes! Many companies are in the aerospace industry: Raytheon, Boeing, Northrop-Grumman, Lockheed…. If you have the right qualifications you can find open job requisitions. Smaller companies in the same sector as well; almost all require eligibility for security clearance (even better if you already have one)

And the way to do that is to deport the illegals at the low end and end the outsourcing and hiring H1Bs, OPTS, and other low cost labor from abroad.

That would give the US a narrow path to avoid the downfall by reducing inflationary pressures on housing and goods like food in the US. Corporate America though will hate it because it means destroying the idea of massive profit growth via inflation from unsustainable growth in demand.

If spending goes up without a companion tax increase you get...inflation.

Yes, you can raise taxes but that is only a short term fix because this will lower overall economic activity.

So really the only lever to stop inflation is reduce spending. Now that doesn't mean that whatever "charity" type cause you believe in has to be defunded. But it does mean it has to stop being funded by the government and instead be funded by YOU.

It isn't going to stop at 3 percent. Some president is going to do the King Henry the 8th and defund the secular religious centers like NGOs and universities because that is where the money has went. 13.2 trillion or so which is roughly one third of our current total debt. So you liquidate those organizations to pay off the debt.

Ideally, a democracy that was cohesive could come together to stave off drastic action requiring an authoritarian dictator. We shall see if democracy is up to the challenge.

Went to 5 Guys yesterday, and while I was eating my $13 cheeseburger I started doing a little math (I know that's discouraged here...sorry). But the burger had about 1/4 lb of beef. I can get about 1.3 lbs. of beef at the grocery story for under $10. So, I can make 5 burgers for less than they charge for one, AND I'm sure that their cost for hamburger is a bulk discount price, so call it six burgers. That's quite the mark-up profit margin. Now, I'm not retarded, I know they have a significant number of other costs (rolls, toppings, licensing, WC, insurance, rent etc). But, when all is said and done I'll bet their profit margin sits at about 100%.

Federal Court draws jurors from a broader area than the state charges would. Plus, I'll bet that Mangione had done other crimes or had perversions that he did not want revealed in court. The other crimes might have been committed in other jurisdictions like Thailand for example. Or perhaps he took the rap in order not to have fellow conspirators charged as accessories. But the feds obviously had a club ready to use on his ass and multiple charges of other crimes like sex tourism, or charging friendz or loved ones is just that type of club.

You don't just snap and commit murder, there is generally a line of prior, uncharged sometimes, but other crimes committed before the big Murder One.

291 Yeah five guys is up there in price. I have no issue with a restaurant charging what they charge. Charge $30 if you can get people to pay for it.

My point is that for all the screeching out there about “affordability CRISIS” these places are all packed. So obviously it’s not that hard to afford.
