Perfesser, Now Ex-Perfesser, Jason Arday Resigns After Being Caught In Yet Another Lie

The newest lie was about publishing a book.

The book was called Trust Me, Bro.

Okay that's a lie.

The truth is, there was no book. No such book exists.

Allegedly, he did propose a book to a publisher... but he never wrote it and never published anything.

Nevertheless, on his website and official bios, he claims the book was actually published and is a real thing that exists.

He also entered the fake book's title in the university's research system so that if you looked it up, you would see that Trust Me, Bro -- or whatever -- exists.

But it doesn't. It was always yet another fiction in his fictional life.

Must be that autism acting up again.

Jason Arday resigns after Telegraph reveals his false book claims

Professor announces he is quitting Cambridge 'with immediate' effect after university launched investigation

Prof Jason Arday has resigned from the University of Cambridge after The Telegraph revealed he falsely claimed to have published a book.

In a statement on Wednesday evening, Prof Arday said he was stepping down "with immediate effect" from his position at the university and at Jesus College citing the "unrelenting level of public scrutiny".

It came hours after the university announced it was investigating him following new information regarding his "academic qualifications and honorary appointments".

Prof Arday, who was a professor of sociology of education, has been at the centre of a plagiarism row after The Telegraph reported accusations he had copied parts of his PhD thesis from another student.

Earlier on Wednesday, The Telegraph also revealed that Prof Arday had repeatedly claimed that he was the author of a book called Being Young, Black and Male: Challenging the Dominant Discourse.

The book was listed in his biography description in published essays as well as in promotional material for speaking events, and was attributed to the Palgrave Macmillan publishing house.

There is no evidence that any book was written or published.

I mean... it's just hilarious. It's just one lie after another, and literally no one had the guts to ask him about any of these lies because they feared he'd call them a racist.

Which he did in fact do. In fact, he complained to the police about racists asking him questions.

The revelation raised questions over Prof Arday's employment at the University of Cambridge. To apply for a professorship at Cambridge, applicants need to submit an extensive portfolio of work, which includes a complete bibliography of essays, journals and book chapters.

Jesus College, where Prof Arday was a fellow, had also said it was investigating him, adding that it was "a very difficult time for him and his family".

Announcing his resignation on the Good Law Project's website, Prof Arday said: "While criticism is an inevitable part of academic life, what I have experienced has gone far beyond scholarly disagreement. The relentless accusations, speculation and public commentary have taken a profound toll on me and on those I love."

He added: "This decision should not be interpreted as a loss of faith in scholarship or in the values that first brought me to Cambridge. Nor should it be mistaken for an acceptance of the narratives that have surrounded me. It is simply the decision of someone who has reached the limits of what any person should reasonably be expected to endure."

The Telegraph revealed last month that Prof Arday had been accused of plagiarism after analysis of his PhD thesis showed more than 180 separate passages were identical or near-identical to another student's thesis.

In recent days, Prof Arday has put his apparent plagiarism down to autism, saying he absorbs information through mimicry.

He has faced questions over other claims. Last week he admitted that a story about him running 600 miles in six days for charity was wrong, saying that it had taken 12 days. He also accepted that he did not raise £5.5m for charity alone -- as he had said in the past -- but had instead been part of a syndicate of about 100 people, none of whom he could name because of non-disclosure agreements.

Have I ever told you about my super-hot model girlfriend? You wouldn't know her, she goes to school in Canada. I can't say where because of the NDA I have with her.

The Telegraph can also reveal that he falsely claimed to hold a master's degree in psychodynamic counselling from Birkbeck University. Durham University also contradicted his claim to be an "honorary professor" in its sociology department.

Cambridge previously said Prof Arday was the victim of a "vile campaign to undermine his credibility", but faced a staff revolt over its refusal to re-examine his academic credentials.

Its investigation came hours after The Telegraph revealed Prof Arday's false claim to have published a book.

...

While he was working at Durham University in 2020, he uploaded the title of the book to the university's repository, an archive to which academics can upload their research and other work.

However, he did not upload any files or content from the book. The entry said "manuscript in preparation", suggesting the work had not yet been completed.

...

The title was included in his list of published works in Cool Britannia and Multi-Ethnic Britain alongside the Being Young, Black and Male book.

It was also listed on his staff profile on Durham University's website as being published in 2019 by Routledge publishing company.

He was still claiming the book was published when he took up the post as Cambridge's youngest black professor in March 2023.

I co-wrote a book with.... my wife, Morgan Fairchild! Yeah, that's the ticket!

This guy compiles what he says are the Perfesser's many, many lies.

Now the only thing that could possibly make this story any funnier is if he did not even bother to write his resignation letter, but instead cheated and used AI to draft a resignation letter.

But what are the chances of that?!?!

Is this good or is this good?

Allison Pearson:

The Cambridge fantasist is proof that stupid intellectuals are poisoning Britain

Jason Arday's tall tales are a devastating case study of how woke ideology turns supposedly brilliant academics into credulous dupes

Most of them are mid-wits, at best.

Arday is, it appears, an Olympic-grade fantasist.

Indeed, the only surprise is Jason has not yet claimed to have won an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics, quite possibly, such are his skills in contortion and backward flips. Despite claims that he is the target of a "smear campaign by Right-wing newspapers", the plagiarism allegations against him have been extensively and convincingly documented. If he had stuck to ripping off entire passages from the dissertation of a female research student, he might well have got away with it. But Jason, born to immigrant parents on a council estate in south London, diagnosed with autism and who claims he was non-verbal until the age of 11 and couldn't read or write until he was 18, decided to branch out into what I can only call experimental fiction.

It is easy to imagine the magical-realism novel based on a list of his alleged achievements -- you could call the yarn Jason and the Golden Fleeced.

Take, for example, his claim to have run 30 marathons in 35 days, partly with a broken leg, to raise money for "charity".

Arday claims he had an epileptic seizure on the 20th day, causing a hairline fracture in his fibula. In his forthcoming memoir, Great and Unfortunate Things, soon to be published by a (surely panic-stricken) Simon & Schuster, he describes the fracture causing his leg to swell to twice its normal size. Nonetheless, our plucky hero says he completed his feat of endurance running. There was also the small matter of him running 600 miles in six days and then 300 miles in three days too.

Experts in ultra-distance running have unsurprisingly cast doubt on these claims, pointing out that such achievements would mean Arday ranked among the world's top athletes.

But why did no one query this before now? What's wrong with the people who allowed Arday to rise as he did, unchecked by reality? His alleged endurance exploits alone are beyond improbable.

How can Cambridge dons, and other senior academics in universities across the country, supposedly some of the most brilliant minds on the planet, have nodded along as Jason told them even more -- perhaps about his supposed appearance on the TV show Seven Up, decades before he was born?

If Prof Arday had told such stories on a building site or a factory floor, the response would have been immediate and brutal: "Come off it, you lying toerag. Pull the other one!"

There is no one quite as stupid as an intellectual. A friend who taught at Cambridge before fleeing for the relative sanity of a Swiss professorship blames the Arday scandal on "a weak, woke administrative class" who have bought into the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) cult. "The disease began," he says, "when the colleges started to hire so-called senior tutors, many of whom are failed academics on an ideological mission to change the ethnic make-up of the Cambridge faculty. Their loyalty is with Left-wing politicians. Most academics are naïve, cowardly, sentimental, indifferent or gullible, so they just go along with it. It's a disaster."

Don't feel bad for this hustler: He gamed the system like a good little foreign grifter and even called the police to complain about a journalist asking questions.

...

A professor I know who worked her way up the academic ladder is angry that women, in particular, and white Britons from working-class backgrounds are being sacrificed for the greater good of diversity. "It's got to the point now where if someone identifies as having a disability or is from a certain ethnic minority, they are guaranteed an interview. I've had to interview people for a post they were absolutely not qualified for and had no experience in. It's farcical."

Arday, for his part, presents himself as a kind, rather dreamy savant (he once told Krishnan Guru-Murthy that he'd like the world to "spin on an axis of love", and said: "I would take a thread and a needle and I'd interweave love into our society"), always emphasising his humility.

His mindthoughts and soulpatterns are next-level you guys.

But when Grove emailed Arday in the summer of 2025 to give him a formal right of reply to his investigation, the response was stern.

In September 2025, Times Higher Education received a letter from top law firm Carter-Ruck, which prompted them to pull their exposé (how Arday could afford such expensive lawyers is a mystery).

Then, in November 2025, the Metropolitan Police were contacted. It was claimed the reporter was "harassing" Arday, although Grove had never tried to call him or approach him or his family in person.

Two months later, in January of this year, Arday submitted a formal, 24-page complaint to Times Higher Education's chief executive. The dreamy savant was apparently playing hardball to protect his position.

In early February, Grove received a call from The Met, which explained it had investigated the complaint made against him but closed the case. "It was the first I knew about it," says Grove. He was badly shaken.

Prosecute him for the false police report.

37 This combo of lies and claims and obfuscations suggests "psychopathic personality." Until now he's been more successful in life than a lot of the PPs -- but part of his success is due to the sickness in the university and the society outside it. Everybody is scared to question a black man about his claims. Without that -- if anybody had done any real vetting -- he'd have never gotten a Ph.D.

Sounds kinda like a fellow I heard about who was born (?) in Hawaii, went to school in the U.S. but there's no record of him doing anything there, and rose to prominence because nobody dared to question his claims. Can't quite think of his name. . . .

And those fees were not cheap.

The same thing happened with visiting or adjunct professors who would only be around for one year. At least we'd get several years of work out of the tenure-track people -- maybe more if they got tenure and didn't get lured away by another university.

I thought it was insane to spend the fees when there were *plenty* of U.S.-born applicants who were at least good enough to be considered.

I've never use it to write anything for me. I actually use it very little. But I have fed it surveyor field notes from the 1860s to read it, and it does a pretty good job. But, even then, I only do it if I am stuck on a word pr phrase. Not all land surveyors from the Olden Tymes had good cursive writing. Sometimes it looks almost like German cursive, which is weird.

I hope he's able to get party support now that he has the nomination. Scholten already said she wouldn't support him if he wins the nom. Do centrist dems want Al Sayed to lose in November?

Can’t wait for the GOP attack ads to hammer him for being Muslim. He needs to counter with "at least I'm not an evangelical Christian nationalist piece of shit" ads.  He has to go hard to win.

The establishment painting Abdul as some radical communist really shows how far towards the right they’ve allowed themselves to be pulled. In a different time he would be considered a new deal dem, not some communist outsider. His policies used to be the one page platform of the Democratic Party.

230 1- This will not be the last one.

2- This is a story about Cambridge University, not Jason Arday.

I think we need to keep making this about the institutions.
Posted by: Blonde Morticia's Phone at August 05, 2026 06:15 PM (u8JyY)

Playing up Arday SI about Cambridge. Falling for a complicated scam is one thing, but our betters in Cambridge, the Yale Uni of the UK, falling for such a transparent hoax punctures their puffed out egos completely. It's like falling for a Nigerian Prince Email and sending him your bank information.

232 Buddy of mine’s kid got accepted to several universities. He wanted to go to Michigan but being out of state the offer was kinda shitty. Only about $20k in scholarship money. $30k out of pocket a year. USC gave him an almost full ride. Took that offer. USC being private doesn’t care where you’re from.

The top tier public universities at every stingy with money for out of state kids. Which make sense, Michigan tax payers shouldn’t t pay for non-Michigan students. But illegals in Michigan? Here’s a blank check Juan.

That’s the infuriating part.

Yes, and i think we should forget about yelling "commieeee!" at them and talk about how they'll screw things up. It doesn't matter what you call them.

The Left: believe the science, idiots! Evolution is obvious and unquestionable!

Also the Left: of course 30% of youth are trans or homosexual! It's natural and genetic, and they're finally free to express themselves, and there's no reason they'd be naturally selected against during all of humanity! Also, 30% can have crippling mental illnesses that severely impaired their ability to provide for themselves and require life-long batteries of medicine and counseling. Otherwise they'll die, and that wouldn't be selected against either.

I think he won fair and square this time. The "woman" who was the main challenger was a loon. I saw one of her campaign appearances, and she was doing these (I don't know how to describe it)...she reminded my of a hyped up high school cheerleader. "Let's go Michigan" type stuff. It was immature and off putting.
