15 My father, who died fairly young in 1990, was stoic yet funny and literally campaigned for Goldwater (my old joke about the trolls). Oh and he adored Ayn Rand.

I'm trying to imagine going back and telling him that in the 2020's, people in America get fired and blacklisted for saying that only women should play in women's sports. I'm trying to imagine his reaction.

Then again if I told him his other two sons became leftards, that reaction I know.

On the comments font on my browser, 0 and o look the same. The composition box, apparently, is a different font, because the zero is tall (but not as fat as capital O).

Obviously, we need to re-boot the printed alphabet. It's the only @nʃvveʁ.

Re the big moon impact of that Falcon 9 2nd stage last night. It happened as predicted, but nobody, even the professionals were able to see anything, not even reflected light from a dust plume.

The Very Large Telescope down there in Chile was looking, and the spectrographs saw the chemical signature of sodium and lithium kicked up. So it it hit and did kick up some ejecta. A couple of other observatories saw the same spectral signatures as well.

So, it happened, but absolute nothingburger as far as anything to see.

Hey, Piper. I have a fashion note for you. Chivalry of holding a door for a woman. Lot's of people like to attribute this to Medieval knights allowing women to go first on the off chance that an enemy is on the other side. That is nothing but myth and hogwash.

The true reason the chivalrous act of holding a door for a woman occurred was due to the fashion during Medieval times and pragmatism. Heavy, restrictive hoop skirts and large dresses made it physically difficult for women to reach door latches or navigate entryways unassisted, prompting men to step in as a matter of functional help and social custom.

So, essentially, thanks to Medieval hoop skirts, feminists give me the side eye when I hold the door for them. The irony being that such feminists are unaware that it was the result of stupid outerwear choices of women in 500-1500 AD.

FOIA requests for documents must be specific. You need to specify exactly what you are looking for by proper name, misspellings, even obvious ones, will not be honored.

If you put in a FOIA request for documents related to a case named Oxford Comma and actual name of the investigation is Oxferd C0mma, you will be told there are no documents response to your request.

And that's exactly what happened.

89 Fucking L33t H@xx0r skills, there, feebs.

And "Eats shoots and leaves", right? Shoots? Right? Like you want to shoot your boss? Ha ha, you're so clever, it makes my balls hurt.

Shitheads. Stick'em all into an elevator on their way to some special secret award for how great they all are, and then cut the fucking cable at the top.

What a tragedy, huh?

Absolutely not. I loved that show. When I was a kid (before the show) I wanted to build my own rocketship. I had plans and everything.

So, do you also also recall the short-lived series "Flying High," about three airline stewardesses including Connie Sellecca from the same time period?

Ol' Robbo was in his mid teens in those days and was....impressionable.

I see some idiots on X are complaining about the moon impact. This is basically leftoid Elon haters who know absolutely nothing about what they're talking about. He's "littering the Moon" or doing some other Bad Things.

Heh. I may be the only person left on the planet who remembers the brief, 1979, show called "Salvage 1" in which Andy Griffith played an entrepreneur who had a vision of salvaging NASA leftovers off the Moon for fun and profit.

Now that Elon and friends are distributing more such stuff, seems to me time for a reboot.

See JackStraw's post at #10. If you look carefully you can see the difference in the two commas.

Can't show you here because it doesn't work with this font. Straw copied/pasted and it's obvious in that.
