Pro-Hamas, Pro-Terrorist Communist Abdul El-Sayed Wins Nomination for Michigan Senate as Expected -- But By a Very Thin Margin

Recent polls had predicted the latest Red-Green Fusion Candidate to win by double digits.

But Transgender Matt Foley, Haley Stephens, came within 1% of beating him.

That means the Democrat primary did not unify the party. It divided it. Furthermore, it shows that as the race closed, millions in ads alerting voters to this Muslim anchor-baby's extremist support for Hamas and Muslim terrorism generally had a real effect.

People learned, for example, that:

* El-Sayed's father is a Muslim Brotherhood operative

* El-Sayed wants to ban not only all aid to Israel, but all arms sales

* El-Sayed refused to say anything about the killing of Iran's Ayatollah because, he said, many of his voters were "sad" about it

* El-Sayed thinks that Hasan Piker -- who says America deserved 9/11, and that someone should assassinate Republican senators, and that people should murder "capitalists" until the streets run red with blood -- should be welcomed into the Big Muslim-Communist Tent that is today's Democrat Party.

Oh, he also wants to ban ICE, of course.

A former Wayne County Health Department director, El-Sayed, if elected in November, would make history as the nation's first Muslim senator. He is an epidemiologist who unsuccessfully ran for governor as an insurgent candidate in 2018. He has made support for "Medicare-for-all" a major component of his campaign.
He has also called for abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and is a vocal critic of Israel amid its war with Hamas -- even characterizing Israel's actions in Gaza as "genocide" against Palestinians. El-Sayed, who served as a top surrogate on Sanders' 2020 presidential campaign, has also vowed not to accept PAC donations.

Noting growing opposition among Democrats nationwide to Israel's ongoing military operations against Hamas in Gaza, and the massive amounts of outside money spent in the historically expensive Senate primary by groups aligned with pro-Israel interests to help Stevens and target El-Sayed, Grossman added "this was a terrible year to be running the most pro-Israel candidate available."
More than $80 million was spent on the primary, making it the most expensive Democratic Senate nomination contest in history. Much of the money came from outside groups supporting Stevens or opposing El-Sayed. The largest spender was United Democracy Project, a political action committee aligned with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, which is best known by its acronym AIPAC.

Trump:

"Great news for the Republican Party. El-Sayed, a Communist loser who hates Jews and Israel, is the projected winner in his race with the Socialist," he posted on Truth Social. "As usual, the Polls were way off on this one. She was not expected to do nearly as well as she did. Now, the Dumocrats crazy policies will only get worse!"
Rogers, for his part, has seized on El-Sayed's win, saying it made the race a choice between "common sense" and "complete insanity."

Lifelong Michigander here, born and raised outside of Dearborn. I will tell you why Abdul El-Sayed will lose to Mike Rogers in November, because it’s actually very simple. It’s the same reason Haley Stevens won Rashida Tlaib’s district (which includes Dearborn), why MI-8 voters elected Thomas Smith, who had dropped out, over the Trump-endorsed Muslim alternative, and why Sri Thanedar lost to a black progressive in MI-13 despite being extremely progressive himself.

It’s because Michiganders look at what is happening to parts of their state, thanks to the growing influence and spread of political Islam, and are appalled by it. People who haven’t been to metro-Detroit simply do not understand how bad things have gotten. But Michiganders know. And they’re not going to elect the guy who wants to make it worse.

In those days Florida was very iffy for development, and outside the coast of Texas the west was unsuitable for mass agriculture at all. Nowhere for the elite planters to go. There were various dreams of Carribean or Central American expansion but these were going to be difficult because those lands were full of people already.

We redistricted, too, which makes us even more solid. I mean we have our loonies, too. Some live right on my street! And I am very concerned about people fleeing here from blue states, and stupidly bringing their voting with them. I live in a very, very pretty area. We are losing a bit of our small town feel as it is - which might not be evident when Toby and I give each other tips on what is happening in the grocery stores or gossip du jour right on this here blog, but we are. I am just hopeful those who come turn back around when they see I am not kidding about the alligators - there are signs at our park entrances. Or they don’t appreciate a hot southern summer night like they should. Or they get frustrated when they realize it takes 3xs as long to get a story from someone as probably anywhere else.

Also, in case you all missed it. Ann Arbor threw out their current mayor and elected a DSA member named Yousef Rabhi. Not unexpected but will see where this goes. Ann Arbor has been destroying itself in the name of the U of Michigan which is buying up property everywhere in the city and subsequently building high rises for student luxury housing. A lot of the small businesses that made Ann Arbor charming to visit are gone as rents have climbed beyond reason. Homeless and panhandlers everywhere, parking is impossible, and getting an apartment for under $3,000 a month is not achievable. I doubt Mr. DSA will do any of the improvements he's planning, but will only make things worse as he runs into the buzz saw of U/M. He will succeed in giving away $$$ and increasing the social justice boondoggles Ann Arbor has become famous for.

192 El-Sayed has a very good chance of winning in Michigan. The Repubs are going to play up the "he's a commie, he's against Israel" line. That's a selling feature to the Democrats. What it doesn't do is bring out the mushy middle voters who did come out for Trump two years ago because the Biden admin sucked so bad.

What the Repubs need to do is run against the Dem party, remind voters that the Dems want open borders, no deportations, release of criminals (no bail and no jail), shut down energy production that increases gas and heating costs, increase regulations on business that drives companies (and jobs) offshore and a few other things I'll probably think of later.

But the Repubs don't do that. They'll just run ads to say "Oooh, this guy is bad!!!" and the middle voter will stay home because they don't remember why they were yelling "F@#k Joe Biden a few years back.
