But it seems like they did.

An armed man, said to be creeping around and monitoring "security-planning activities," was arrested Sunday with a pistol and ammunition outside Trump National Golf Course Los Angeles -- just two days before the president's visit to the very same location.
Jeanine John Taele, 38, from Downey, Calif., was taken into custody outside the Rancho Palos Verdes site by sheriff's deputies after federal agents first spotted him lurking in the area, taking photos and videos, and monitoring security-planning activities, law enforcement said.

Jeanine? Is this a transgender?

Someone claimed "Jeanine" is a French form of "John." But it's not. "Jean" is the French form of John. "Jeanine" is the feminine form. BTW 93% of nouns or names ending in -e in French are female. Blond/blonde. Francois/Francoise.

So I don't know what's going on here.

When deputies assigned to the Lomita Sheriff's Station first made contact with Taele, they determined he was being investigated for a 2025 robbery by the El Segundo Police Department -- he was then detained.
During a pat-down, deputies recovered a 16-round magazine containing hollow-point ammunition from Taele's pants pocket, according to a release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

A subsequent search of his vehicle in the golf course parking lot revealed a loaded pistol with a round chambered, along with an additional loaded magazine with hollow-point rounds.
Taele was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm and possession of prohibited ammunition.
The Sheriff's Department Major Crimes Bureau assigned to the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) obtained and executed a search warrant at Taele's home in Downey Monday.
Deputies discovered an illegally modified AR platform rifle, two radio signal devices, a 1911 .45 caliber pistol, an AR platform upper receiver, body armor, high-capacity magazines, bulk pistol and rifle ammunition, and multiple notebooks containing concerning statements during the search of his home.
He was charged with the following crimes Tuesday:
Manufacturing, importing, keeping for sale, giving or receiving a large-capacity magazine
Carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle
Possession of a short-barreled rifle or shotgun
Second degree robbery, in connection to the 2025 robbery.
Taele entered a not guilty plea, and bail was set at $250,000.
The Post was first to break the news of Trump's scheduled visit to Southern California.
Taele, who describes himself as a USMC veteran, had been spotted around the golf course several times since June, but there was no indication he was aware of Trump's upcoming visit, a law enforcement source told The Post.

Officials confirmed that while the investigation remains active, law enforcement has identified no current credible threat to the surrounding communities.

It happens regularly, on this site and others.

The general advice is to switch to a browser that lets you turn off third-party scripts on a site-specific basis, or add a plug-in to your existing browser that does the same thing. I use StopTheScript on Safari.

It does mean that legitimate third-party scripts also don’t run, such as embedded tweets and embedded videos. There may be a setting to fix that, but I haven’t cared enough to look for it.

In prison culture it was used for the passive male partner. In noir fiction it was used and people thought it mean someone who carried a gun or was a shooter.

The trial was more complicated than that. What he actually said that was presented at trial wasn't the same as what was reported that he said. What he actually said was more subtle.

IIRC, what got him roasted at the trial wasn't the "this was fake" comment, but his comments directed at a specific set of parents that he said were using the death of their kids to promote themselves, their agenda, and to try to profit from the tragedy. Which they kinda were.

I was never a fan of Alex Jones, or his brand of shock, but he was railroaded.

This is a topic I've thought on for a while. Since COVID. COVID changed things, in many ways.

Did the DNC "program" this new one ? No. I don't think so. Not in a specific, targeted way.

Like it or not, from better reports, guy had an SBR that was not papered under the NFA. So fed charges there and state.

And a lot of states forbid having long arms loaded in a vehicle (which includes SBRs btw) because of a) safety as even a modest rifle catridge can go straight through a vehicle and into the next, etc., and b) due to poaching.

I would imagine if you had an AR pistol loaded, you might get initially charged but released if the facts showed it was a pistol rather than an NFA SBR.

This is the appeals judge overruling the lower court district judge who put out an order last week saying he couldn't do it.

But, yeah, the slight extension on work authorizations (provided so that the actual calendar on the SCOTUS order could be reached) is over and the Haitians have started losing their jobs.

Deportation orders I being fed through immigration courts now, which have a 93% rejection rate for asylum claims since Trump retook the office. Combine that with mega master hearings where judges hear dozens of cases in an hour or so, and you've got...these people are going home. Soon.

CA law. But possession alone isn't illegal, even today here in CA. Especially after the Freedom Week period a few years ago when transfer/purchase of standard capacity mags was legal in a short time between one of the Supreme Court decisions and subsequent injunction that shut it down again. Any gun parts company doing business on-line had their whole inventory sucked dry by CA gun owners that week.

Plus, for years you could purchase magazine repair kits that were just disassembled mags. As long as you never ended up assembling them into more standard cap mags than you started with, it wasn't a magazine, it was just a pile of 100% legal parts so when the springs or feed lips wore out on your mags, you could repair them to proper function.

I'm pretty sure that's just a throwaway charge to facilitate a plea deal in the future.

That being said, the judgment was unusually punitive and I would say, unconstitutional. It was meant to be confiscatory and deliberately take away all he had. That’s not how it works.
