Good morning kids. Early post this morning as I have a medical appointment and a long drive ahead... As I, CBD and others have discussed on these pages and elsewhere while depriving or at the very least delaying Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons will preserve civilization and save countless millions of lives at least in the short term. However long that period of time may be, because Islam was is and always will be on the march to conquer the world and quite likely bring about armageddon to do so, as has always been the case with the Shi'ite part of that blood thirsty creed since it is a central tenet of its philosophy. And so with that in mind, my support for President Trump's efforts thus far in getting us to at least the point of buying us some time is unwavering and remains so. And yet here we are today with the Mullahs still in power, albeit their military might severely degraded. But the question for President Trump is what is the endgame, or more to the point how are we to go about actually achieving that endgame, which I have to assume is permanently denying Iran the ability to threaten its neighbors with nuclear weapons or garden variety terrorism that it has unleashed on the world since Jimmy Carter helped birth the cancer emanating from Tehran in 1979, pig-piss be upon him for all eternity for that alone. . . .“the call-off comes, as President Trump said Saturday, the framework for a new deal featuring a reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and denuclearization for Iran has been reached. The president did not rule out further military action if talks fall through.” Of course. As he has so many times before. Trump said: “You see, you see how it is. We’re ready to go anytime we want. Would I rather make a deal? I’m not looking to kill people. Because people die, a lot of people die, and we don’t want that.” Of course. No one does. But all this means is that more people are going to die at the hands of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Meanwhile, just as predictably, “Iran’s foreign minister said today direct talks with the U.S. are not underway.” Of course. They never are, if the Islamic Republic is to be believed, even as Trump insists that Iran’s shadowy leaders are begging and pleading to make a deal. . . I’m old enough to remember, especially since it was just a few weeks ago, when Trump was excoriating the leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran as “scum,” and saying that it was useless to try to negotiate with them. What did the Saudis and Qataris and Emiratis tell him to convince him otherwise? Or maybe he needed no convincing, since it wasn’t long before he was dismissing them that Trump himself was praising Iran’s leaders, and suggesting that since they were so calm and reasonable, as opposed to those whom they had replaced, that regime change had been effectively accomplished, even if the regime still bore the same.So what is this really all about? Is it merely headline-grabbing in an attempt to mollify the electorate in the run-up to the midterms which really are just around the corner, or what the hell else is it? Honestly, I have no idea what our famed deal-maker-in-chief is thinking. For sure, Donald Trump has a hell of a huge ego and cannot abide the thought of being seen on the losing end of anything. And I have no doubt that he is a patriot and has our nation's best interests at heart so that gives me some measure of comfort. But of course the situation is fluid and has all too often been the case, those who have his ear do not. So, as he himself is wont to say we'll just have to wait and see, but I'm awfully tired of that. The mullahs have got to go, forever. And that's been the situation since long before President Trump. For almost 1,500 years but who's counting, right? And on a lighter note, I'll leave you with this amusing link for breakfast. Well when I saw this I immediately thought what a a perfect metaphor for Socialism. You get up at the crack of dawn, plant your ass in a cold river use your skills and wiles to reel in a big fish only to have a huge dangerous beast of a smelly Commie bear grab it from you as you wet yourself in fear that if you don't hand it over and beat a hasty retreat you'll be mauled to death. Yup, there are your Democrats and Socialists since they are now one and the same as you can see from the links and from history. Yup, there are your Democrats and Socialists since they are now one and the same as you can see from the links and from history. What's more of an existential threat, a potential Muslim nuke (hell Pakistan already has them) or the Guerrillas in our midst known as the Left. Damn calling them Commie is now like blowing kisses at the bastards! Like all good Marxists, these “ends-justify-the-means” leftists show an utter lack of principle: if two new red states wished to join the U.S., they would lecture us on the sanctity of a 50-state union. If they were a permanent Senate minority, they would, as in the past, honor the filibuster. If they had lost the popular vote in two recent elections but won the Electoral College, they would praise the wisdom of the Founders. If they had their Earl Warren-era majority again, they would laud the continuity of the 157-year-old nine-justice Supreme Court. . . Recently, on cable news, the national co-chair of the Democratic Socialists of America, Megan Romer, was asked a series of questions about her group’s published agenda. Far from denying its communist radicalism, she gleefully confirmed it all—from destroying the border to ending prisons, the military, and the police. . . Far from denying its communist radicalism, she gleefully confirmed it all—from destroying the border to ending prisons, the military, and the police. . . In sum, to make a new socialist America, you must first destroy everything that made Americans and all that they hold dear.If we do not stop them we will be facing mass graves. The only question is will they be ours or theirs? Either way not something I ever anticipated I'd have to contemplate. Oh well. Have a good day,

Over on FB, I posted a tweeted response about Mamdani's call for reparations. The person said that if we non-slave owners are on the hook for slavery, then all muslims are on the hook for 9/11.
Yeah...this triggered an extremely liberal friend. Especially when I remarked that communists should never have positions of power. She ranted about how I'm discriminating against religion and reminded me about the oath I took as a Marine. Yeah, never said anything about his ethnicity, communism isn't a race and that oath covers enemies foreign and domestic. Not even worth engaging. With all of the amateur commentary on the 47 year old war with Iran, I’m amazed by the lack of mention of a 1983 shootdown of an A-6 Intruder bomber by Syria.

It only took one American Serviceman in captivity to markedly affect US foreign policy. Well known politician REVEREND Jessie Jackson flew to Syria to involve himself in that matter. Interesting note, Pakistan is telling Araghchi that he should come and to make it " very soon". There may be more on the table than impeachment.

Science has been changed many, many times. It starts with a theory of what should happen. Then a small blip appears, of data that is not as predicted. This excited real scientists, and this means there is something to discover. The "Old Guard" scientists usually resist. Sometimes to their death. Experiments find that new data, and theory is modified until it covers the facts. This works, and the new scientists protect that theory. Until a new fact needs to be explained, and the cycle begins anew. The biggest danger to science today is bad data, that only one lab can replicate. This mistake (or fraud) undermines the entire scientific method. Posted by: NaCly Dog at August 04, 2026 07:34 AM (u82oZ) 72

The markets will figure this out too and whatever stupid shit any leader says is going to be responded to with rolled eyes or jerking off motion. Trump isn't confiding in us, or communicating to us on these matters, so we shouldn't be reading Iran's mail. What happens a half-globe away means nothing to any of us unless the point is to have chronic elevated cortisol levels and the physical mental dysfunctions that follow. What does matter is the Enemy Within. I hypothetical nuke in the hands of cellular autonomous IRGC seems more fairy tale as far as deployment. We did this stupid game with North Korea. We pretend that crazy Muslims in Iran are our immediate threat while the crazy Muslims next door are openly planting their flag and martialing for war and our government responds by aiding them. The snake's been defanged. Trump is dealing with the Iran problem that we've let fester for 50 years. FFS, Obama/ValJar wanted them to be a regional hegemon -- with nukes.
The goal is to make Iran irrelevant and they soon will be. With no oil revenue they'll be lucky to keep the lights on at home. Everyone in the region is now allied against them. The IRGC's antics give Trump the cover to keep bombing them back to the stone age. They won't have the internal know-how and resources to rebuild.
Posted by: NaCly Dog at August 04, 2026 07:34 AM (u82oZ) Karl Popper’s concept of falsification. As you know, at the NSF/NIH granting combines, only new science is funded. Replication gets no dollars. The grantors think this would be covered in grants to expand the new science, or to find the mechanism of that science. Sometimes it does. But this is presented as new science. The biggest danger to science today is bad data
Totally disagree. While bad data are a danger, its the pure dishonesty and imported biases that harm science even more. In fact, it was because of Bad Data that I knew that C19 was a manufactured hoax. Bad Data revealed the truth. Bad Data also told us that Climate Change is a hoax. Science works better when a claim is predicted, a way to measure it is found and deployed, and the result either confirms or denies the claim. Everywhere within that chain is a Bogeyman where dishonesty and biases can pervert the selection of how to measure, the measuring itself, the tossing out of data that doesn't support the issue, etm. The Apostle Peter said that the scientists would be "willfully ignorant.. and deny the truth" and that is exactly what we see. Posted by: Community Notes at August 04, 2026 07:43 AM (a4flb) 86

But everything is secondary to, and flows from, the problem of the American Communists. Their total extirpation is both a matter of survival and the key to solving our other problems around the world - with them all dead or imprisoned, nothing can stand in our way, and all these bad actors know it. Morning, Horde!
"Massive Brown Bear Comes Within Feet Of Fisherman To Grab Salmon." Good times. My old father took me fly-fishing in Alaska (Katmai Park) back in the day. August is the peak of the sockeye spawning run and the rivers are full of half-dead fish. The bears come down to feast and get so lazy that sometimes they won't even bother trying. When I was there, there was a bear named Sister who specialized in waiting for a fisherman to make a catch and then jumping out and grabbing it for herself. She never actually ambushed me, but I did have to get out of the way many times when one of the bears came working along the river. The DSA op by the DNC is basically what Trump did writ large, but from the Left. Remember Trump came on the scene with all these "crazy" "extreme" proposals like the "muslim ban" and then gradually softened as he gained more and more followers while still keeping some ideas that would have seemed extreme except compared to things like the muslim ban, so now previously "tough" ideas like sealing the border or actually kicking people out is softened.
This is what the Democrats are doing right now. By presenting full throated communism and having their "mainstream" explicitly denounce it, they are effectively using the Trump Strategy but as the greater party at large. This gives them two huge advantages to go with all the other advantages it gives. One, it extinguishes all previous accusations from Republicans and Trump that mainstream Democrats are communists. What the Democrats are saying is "no, *these* are the communists". As the Democrats slowly absorb the energy and ideas and "soften" to the more "moderate" solutions, they get the advantage of both an appearance of moderation AND jerking the country Left while having it seem totally organic. Remember Trump stole the middle from both parties and made it the general proviso of the Republicans while leaving Democrats where they were - out in the old, dead, leftard cold.
So now instead of trying to claw that middle back by going to the actual center, Democrats are presenting a brand new open left extreme (which was really what they've been all along) and inventing a brand new middle whole cloth which is just slightly to the right of the new "extremists". They will get people back that way, especially against a Republican Party that no longer has Trump at the helm, which may suddenly seem aged, stale, established or "stuck in the past". It's an operation. The whole thing is planned. Democrats don't take a shit in the morning without their marching orders. Posted by: ... at August 04, 2026 07:57 AM (FgjHu) 114

Inside bad data was helpful data. The Diamond Princess data, the prior published data from the gain of function experiments (hinting at mechanisms), and because we were told a cloth mask would keep out a virus.
The Bad Data I was referring to was that their numbers didn't fit the traditional Gompertz distribution for pandemics. Diamond Princess was a data point. Even those numbers couldn't be trusted because they were laundered through corrupt government, a protective public relations mechanism, and the Enemedia which reflexively lies about everything. @mattvanswol 10h Why does everything feel fake? We have a Congress that won't pass something 83% people want. We have courts that release criminals faster than police can arrest them. We have schools that graduate kids who can’t read. We have colleges that charge $200K for degrees that don’t get you jobs. We have a non-profit system that profits from our tax dollars. We have a health care industry that profits from you staying sick. We have “representatives” who don’t represent us. We have “news” networks that report opinions and call them facts. Posted by: JackStraw at August 04, 2026 07:59 AM (viF8m) I suspect that there will never be any actual investigation. It could be much like the leaked Supreme Court opinion, where Justice Roberts knew exactly who had done it on the day it happened. From the beginning, his “investigation” was just an op to cover up what he already knew. That kind of thing has become the norm lately in many aspects of our government. And it’s worth noting that if the CinC did it, it’s not illegal. Incredibly stupid move, but he can declassify anything he wants to. Posted by: Tom Servo at August 04, 2026 08:17 AM (Fo91n) 169

on reparations:
What should be the punishment for slavery? Like right now, someone is caught with a black man as a slave. Beats him, works him 12 hours a day, 6 days a week; no pay and chains him where he sleeps in a scrap wood shack. Not what the law says, being a few years in prison, what should be the punishment for that crime? But now you've accused millions alive today of that crime: Of the guilt of slavery. And now, suddenly, your thoughts on proper punishment is "just pay a few thousand dollars?" Not the retribution you wanted on that slaveowner--life in jail, death or worse. Nope. Just pay a few thousand. Either slavery is a horrible crime that must be punished in equal measure. Or it's a mere fine no slaver is left alive to pay and blacks should just get over it. Or, as Jesse Lee Peterson says, "are you a white supremacist? Do you believe whites are better than you? Then why you begging from him?" Kramer starts preaching communist propaganda to the little kids sitting on his lap and the kids immediately start yelling: Santa is a communist!! Kramer and his height-challenged friend Mickey get fired as a result. That episode was funny because it was implicit with everyone that commies were bad…

I think old school terms still are accurate and work: lunatics, wealthy spoiled brats with too much time on their hands, tyrants, the enemy within. May not have the sting, but it doesn't matter. You can't shame people who have no shame. You can't call someone a Hypocrite when to them hypocrisy is a tool not a vice. You can't reason with a person who relies on irrationality for their access to power, status and sex with children. You can't use truth to people who prefer lies. Many are pointed not at the road, but at schools, swimming pools, children's playgrounds, shopping centers or other spaces that prohibit vehicles. The whole point of a leaker is to be anonymous not to announce who they are. Leaks have been plaguing the Pentagon forever, this is not something new under Trump,
..... They have and it isn't. But many of them do get caught. And when they do, it's almost always "well, gee golly gosh, that was very naughty. Now, on to other things." On the exceedingly rare occasion someone gets punished, it's not very harsh at all. Bradley Manning appeared to get a harsh punishment, but even that was overturned out of hand under the "Trump doesn't like him" precedent. If you want the leaks to stop, go on a mole hunt, round up as many as you can in short order (along with an even larger number of people who did not leak, but are undesirable and can be plausibly implicated), and then try them all for espionage and cart them off to lengthy terms in a prison where the living envy the dead. This is how you stop it. Half the putative leaders will seek other employment immediately, and the rest will walk in fear. Old ways are best ways. At least 1/3 (very likely more) of "russians" fighting it out in the Ukranian meat grinder are recruits from every shithole in the world - Africa, S. America (cartels), Asian and ME terrorists and similar. The well trained, well equipped sort is not being wasted in this. While Ukraine is using its own population. And yes, NorKo is there too. Russia allows them to train, collect data and perfect their technology on the battlefield. Chance of this precious, invaluable data - they are using Western, NATO technology on the Uke side, going to China ? Very high.

That is plain retarded. Academy, like practically every other store, has a myriad of security cameras inside and outside. They don't look at the hundreds of cars passing through the parking lot to get their ad hoc gun list. They simply look at the 4473 the buyer fills out with plenty of PII. Lowes has been doing surveillance on its customers for ages, with all kinds of face reco on the high theft items. You can't even enter the store without a phalanx of cameras identifying you against a previously seen database. And Lowes for a long time typically has four Flocks covering their parking lot. The coordination between high levels of both "parties" will eventually be exposed. Just like everything else. By then everyone will have long forgotten I was out on this limb, and I'll no doubt be out on another. The key if you think of nothing else - DNC still controls 100% of the media. How do you know? The messaging is still highly disciplined across every single outlet. They will use it to destroy whoever they want to destroy, practically at will. Six ways to Sunday, Chuckie said. Think after all these years and the brush with Trump, the Democrat Party is gonna decide to just lay back, think of England, and suffer a real threat of removal or replacement from anyone...? Or worse, risk having a bunch of embarrassing "losers" run, and relinquish power that way? They have retreated and regrouped for the post-Trump era. This is the beginning. He was always a bully and a coward. If he for a minute thought any of the shit attributed to Jews is real, he would not say a word about Jews, for the fear of being gutted like a pig in the Smithfield slaughterhouse.
