Update: Trump Blasts "Duplicitous" Iran Leadership
Trump was ready, he says, to unleash a bombing campaign on Iran that would be the most destructive since World War II, but Iran and some Gulf States told him that Iran had accepted the basic framework of a "deal" and so Trump cancelled the attack.
President Donald Trump has called off a major strike against Iran, claiming to have reached a framework for a deal with the regime. "The U.S.A. is locked and loaded and ready to go against the Islamic Republic of Iran, at levels of Military Terror, Strength, and Power not seen since World War II. Despite this, we have just been asked by Iran, and other Middle Eastern Countries, to hold off any attack in that the perimeters of a deal has been agreed to," President Trump announced in a Saturday evening post on Truth Social. The tentative deal includes "Immediate, Complete, and Total OPENING OF THE HORMUZ STRAIT," the president continued. The pause in the military operation was "subject to being able to rapidly make a DEAL," he warned.It's the Groundhog's Day War:

And, I remember when Trump was never going to bomb them. Then he bombed them for 6 weeks. Then Trump was so eager for a deal that he'd sign anything, and the MOU came along and Iran got nothing from it. And then Trump would never bomb them again, and then he bombed them for 11 days.
Every stage of this is just degrading Iran.
All they can do now is write PR about things that aren't happening in the strait while everyone ignores them.

Now, what are they? And I think that this might be getting people to realize that "oh, Iran can't actually do anything, let's get back to business."

On Fox they said what's happening is that there are at least 3 "Iranian governments" of varying compositions (1 is civilian and 2 are different IRGC factions) and Trump is continuing to play the "one of them makes a deal, the other ones blow that one up, now there are two" game.

I think it will be interesting years down the road on what is actually happening in this war. The on again, off again nature is pretty strange to me. I don't know if Trump is doing some psychological thing on them, he's falling for some bullshit the cia is telling him, or if it's just muzzie countries purposely f'ing with us. But it does take the air out of what Israel is doing to Hamas and Hezbollah. I don't mind the economic crushing with intermittent bombing, I just want to know if that's the actual strategy which they stubbornly refuse to consult me on.

A number of them have palestinians already to deal with. The wave could be well in the millions. They would naturally direct as much as possible to Europe like they did during the collapse of Syria/rise of ISIS but it would definitely effect them.

Trump DOES NOT want to hurt more innocent people than is absolutely necessary. He doesn't want to bomb the people of Iran. He has said this repeatedly.
He is being patient because right now more innocents would be harmed by our response than would be harmed by the status quo. He's got some time to work with because we've severely set back their nuclear, military and leadership capabilities. As soon as that calculus changes, watch out!
I for one will be interested to see if I'm right.
