Dr. Anthony Fauci was not the only one taking the Fifth this week. The media effectively invoked the same privilege to avoid self-incrimination for their years of deifying the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

All the focus on Fauci is burying the more important story, which is that scientists enforcing a common narrative to the detriment of truth has become extremely common. It's a strong case of in-group behavior in academia that, I believe, most of them are not fully aware of.
As @LocasaleLab put it so aptly "the academic system punishes honesty".
And this is the real story: This isn't just about Fauci. Fauci is just an extreme and very visible example in a case that has attracted a lot of public attention. But misleading the public about the status of scientific research has become extremely widespread.

Hopper appeared on News24 in Australia to discuss Fauci's decision to invoke his Fifth Amendment right more than 100 times during his congressional hearing Wednesday, refusing to answer any questions.
Before reacting to Fauci's hearing, the independent journalist, who previously worked for CBS News Los Angeles until 2022, gave her own history reporting on Fauci and how he was deified by the mainstream media.
"I have so much to say because this was during the time when I was on CBS News. I was reporting extensively on COVID," Hopper said. "I was out there on the front lines. And I remember after a couple of years of dealing with hearing this man and interviewing this man and having to wear masks and having our kids out of school for years, I remember questioning what he was doing. And I got in trouble and pulled off air for a couple of days because I started questioning him.
"You weren't supposed to question the agenda and the narrative at that point. And I apologized, and I went back on air covering what I was supposed to do as I've mentioned before on here. I was their puppet on mainstream media for so many years. Hopefully, more and more people are waking up to, you know, really, the lack of journalistic integrity that we're seeing."

People should STOP saying that this is Fauci's "private diary." It was a daily log prepared by Fauci with the assistance of aides, as should be obvious to anyone who looks at it. It was property of the NIH, an official document. It was not "leaked." It was legally released.

"Journalists" who haven't sat in a science class since 11th grade declared themselves to be top experts in the field, and knew that any suggestion that the Wuhan novel bat coronavirus might have come from the Wuhan novel bat coronavirus laboratory was racism.

Check this out: Fauci admitted that the Wuhan lab, which he funded, was in fact performing illegal gain-of-function research.

As this commenter says, Fauci changed the definition of "gain of function" so he could claim that gain of function wasn't gain of function according to the new definition he literally just wrote.

But here he just calls it what it is: gain of function.

But it also was not an official government document/ log. Fauci was planning on writing a big book on how amazingly amazing he was and how he, single-handedly, saved not just the world but democracy itself. He forwarded all of this to himself in emails and then deleted it off the government computers. Because he thought just deleting things actually made the item disappear. You see this in the number of times he asks others to delete an email he sent. These were not supposed to be official records, but Fauci did this on a government work computer and that made it not private anymore.

Had he hand-written it and kept it off a government computer, another argument might be made, except that he did it on government time with government resources.

Deletion of government records carries a fine and prison sentence.

I recently went down a rabbit hole into the Climate universe, and it is overwhelming, massive beyond comprehension, and so cult-like that they do't even know it's a cult. They are so surrounded by their own narrative that they're "swimming in it" and don't even know it is a narrative anymore.

Around the world, there are nonprofits, university departments, government agencies, activist groups, corporations, educational systems, and on and on and on. also in absolute lockstep with the climate agenda, all-in, their lives, livelihoods, psyches subsumed in it.

They've not on;y drunk the Kool-Aid, but they've also injected it, snorted it, and survive on a constantly Kool-Aid IV drip.

It's very very scary. Because outside of Trump's executive branch, the entire world is in this cult.

The last year that I was working they ordered a return to the office but I got a waiver since I didn't really work with anyone in the office and started my day at 3:30.
