Iran Threatens Lives of First Lady and Barron Trump; Trump Says He'll Kick the Sh** Out of Them
Iran is calling upon its foreign agents to kill Trump's wife and youngest son.
First lady Melania Trump and son Barron are the latest targets of Iran's sick anti-US propaganda. A new video out of Iran is encouraging supporters of the Islamic regime to assassinate President Trump's wife. Entitled "How to Kill Melania Trump," the video shows images of the first lady in the motorcade and in some locations around New York City, even naming some of the designer stores that she shops. The shopping excursions could be "suitable for operations by global freedom fighters," the video noted. It also suggested using a nerve agent to poison any clothes the first lady might purchase.
... At the end of the video, Barron Trump, 20, is also threatened. "This is just the beginning. Barron Trump, wait for us." ...
The president's family has been repeatedly targeted since the war with Iran began. Last week, billboards appeared around Tehran demanding the death of President Trump and his relatives, including Melania and all his children: Don Jr, Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany and Barron. "Blood for blood," it read. ... [President Trump] told The Post that he "left instructions" should Iran succeed in their plots to assassinate him -- and there'll be hell to pay. "I've been on their list for a long time. That's what we're dealing with," he said. "... The only thing is, I've left instructions -- if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they've never seen before."
Iran just launched five missiles at US bases. The missiles were all intercepted, but Trump vows vengeance.
President Donald Trump on Wednesday warned that the U.S. is going to "beat the f*cking sh*t" out of Iran following its attack on U.S. forces in Jordan. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Tuesday that Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces attempted to conduct a "surprise attack on U.S. forces based in the Middle East." "All Iranian missiles were successfully intercepted. U.S. forces remain vigilant and at a high state of readiness," CENTCOM said. In response to that, President Donald Trump told Fox News, "We're going to beat the f*cking sh*t out of them." Trump added that Iran is "going to get a beating."
Trump explained why he hasn't yet bombed Iran's bridges and power plants. It's simple: He's thinking about the day after the collapse of the regime. The freed people of Iran will desperately need to start making money, and that will be difficult with all of the bridges and power plants destroyed. Trump explains that bridges can take up to ten years to build and power plants are the most expensive piece of infrastructure to rebuild. I watched a video last week explaining that's why Trump has not bombed Kharg Island down to ground, too. It turns out that despite Iran's long coast on the Strait, they have only one deep water port, and that's Kharg Island. The rest of the coastal waters are shallow and piled with silt which prevents ocean-going tankers from pulling up to take on oil. This is also why you only hear of plans to use Marines to seize Kharg Island, as opposed to dropping massive ordnance penetrators on it and just destroying the port entirely. So again, he's contemplating the post-war economy of Iran and deciding not to bomb key infrastructure that the Iranians will desperately need. That all makes sense. I admire the patience of PDTS. The oil market found a way. Iran can only put out press releases about things that haven't happened.
Oil is below $80 a barrel...again. It's lower than it was before the renewed strikes.
The gas prices are about refinery spreads, and nothing to do with the global oil market anymore.

There's a pretty solid reason for that. There are checkpoints throughout the country to assure that the local gentry can't travel to different locations to join revolts. That allows the local powers to keep a close eye on the "troublemakers" with no new unknown faces entering the fray. I expected the US to target these checkpoints (or even Mossad on the ground to take them out methodically), but they remain firmly in place.

We did target them for a while, then they started hiding them under bridges and the like to protect them to some extent from air attack. Even if we hit a few it would be relatively easy to build a bunker that would protect the checkpoints. Iran's a big place, and the road net between cities is poor by our standards.

I don't see bombing from the air being enough to accomplish regime change. And I don't think Trump can accomplish his stated goals without regime change.
As we see in the Ukraine war drones have changed everything on the modern battlefield. We would need maybe 10-15 million drones supported by a ground force of some nature but what drone warfare has shown us is we don't need a massive D-Day type invasion force to support a drone rollover of every significant IRGC formation in the country. Russia and Ukraine are each making about 7 million drones in calendar 2026.

During the green revolution some friends of mine and I were trying to get the people who were on facebook in Iran to do something. The concept of fighting back was so alien to them it was weird. We'd get live video of a APC shooing into a crowd from above. Tell the filmer to drop a molotov cocktail on it and they would just keep filming. Hundreds just standing there while 6 or 8 people were hung from forklifts at a time. Up the when ths kicking stops down. 6 more tied to the same rope, rince and repeat. Thousands died while everybody else just stood there. I don't think much fight is in the common iranian.

One of the problems is Trump doesn't really do regime change. He's criticized it often in the past and he doesn't really think well in those terms.
He's always conflating the country of Iran or the Iranian people with this group of theocratic Islamic doomsdayist cult mass murderers that have gained control over the country, referring to them often as just the "Iranians" and granting them rhetorical legitimacy as the embodiment of the Iranian people.

But Iran is a different case entirely. Since 1979 our goal should always have been regime change and granting no recognition to the Islamist cultists that held our hostages and maintained power through mass murder.

Their power projection is largely the same it has always been, they still maintain the ability to strike at us and their neighbors.
It really has not changed substantially.
All they need to do is shoot off a couple of rockets here or there, kill a serviceman here or there, down an air craft here or there, cause mischief here or there and the disruption they cause is outsized to their actual capabilities.
