Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | THE MORNING RANT: As Bombshell Fauci Docs Drop, Faux-Conservative Media Indignantly Covers Story It Suppressed in 2020![]() As we’ve all heard over the past month, Dr. Fauci has worked long hours through seven-day weeks trying to save American lives. He also has made countless statements in scores of interviews and White House Task Force press conferences. Consistently, he has been a model of empathy. Again and again, he has agonized over the excruciating choice that government officials have no choice but to make: The choice between the well-being of (a) those sick from, dying of, and vulnerable to a potentially lethal infectious disease, and (b) those whose financial, emotional, and physical well-being are being shattered by the shutdown. It has worn on him, like it would wear on any of us.As Fauci’s web of lies became ever more tangled, it became harder for Fauci’s “conservative” fanboys to justify their worshipful swooning. But Fauci was working to take out President Trump, so the NeverTrump media remained loyal to him, working to keep him propped up until Trump was gone. By late July 2020, over four months into the two-week lockdown, Fauci’s popularity was eroding. He was seen in public violating his own lockdown protocols, while also posing in glamour shots for celebrity magazines. Jim Geraghty rushed to protect Fauci in a piece that gently chided Fauci’s PR mistakes (“unforced errors” Before we go any further, let me begin by saying I believe Dr. Anthony Fauci is an exceptional doctor and public-health expert who is doing the best he can in extremely challenging circumstances. I think most of his judgments during this pandemic have been either correct or a reasonable assessment based upon what was known at the time.In a tweet yesterday, this same Jim Geraghty is now snarking at Fauci: “Dr. Anthony Fauci, in his private notes, January 2020: ‘Now we know the Market Was Not the Source, It Was the Amplifier.’ Funny, I don’t remember him emphasizing or even mentioning that point throughout the entire pandemic and aftermath…”It does not matter that National Review’s coverage of Covid and Fauci became more critical by 2021 (once Trump was successfully dispatched in the 2020 election.) National Review was as reverent about Fauci in early 2020 as any legacy left-wing media source. Regarding the latest Fauci revelations, National Review and its writers ought to simply abstain from discussing or covering the story altogether, unless it’s an apology for their lack of critical coverage when it could have made a difference in 2020. They also deserve mockery for any efforts to now critically cover the events of 2020.

NR is on the left. They pretend to be on the right.
This is a great example. The left does the exact same thing- they will pretend that what they said last year never happened. No explanation. No apology. Just pretend every day is a fresh slate. Because they live in the world of perception, so they hide the truth. Posted by: Formerly Virginian at July 27, 2026 11:03 AM (N1DT3) 6

Speaking of "journalists" they spent an inordinate amount of time Friday night recounting the most recent unpleasantness from their event in April. It's not 'just' the media that participated in the operation to subjugate the public with covid bullshit. The judiciary was more than happy to enforce Fauci's mandates when it suited them too.
It was always about forced compliance with unpopular mandates. And the judiciary was, and is, squarely on the left's side. 14h This was the day in which Trump realized that the presidency had been completely stolen from him: “After the presser (about 1 hour) Deb Birx texted and then called me saying it was good that I was not there since after the presser, the POTUS called her into the Oval and started yelling at her saying 'You and Fauci have destroyed the country and the economy. I should never have listened to you. You have completely destroyed us.' He kept saying this over and over again and was yelling at her. Posted by: Mark Andrew Edwards ======== I think our natsec view after WWII is that information (and people) needed to be controlled. CIA peeps like William Colby bragged about it in their CIA approved memoirs--Colby was involved in the 50's with keeping Italy from Communism so he discusses in various ways how the CIA did that there which is a blueprint for how they did it here. Brits had this mindset even longer and were quite skilled in black and white propaganda and cultivated close ties with promising leaders in various fields. Project Mockingbird files plus the files in the JFK assassination show that the natsec establishment has a bunch of paid influencers as assets (not formal agents) but paid in one way or another by career advancement, direct or indirect subsidy, or even political careers. Plus the fun fact that due to his pardon, he cannot refuse to testify before Congress. The charming thing is due to Palko v. CT, parallel charges in any state affected by his decisions can occur in state courts. Presidential pardons do not cover those. Bad things can happen to Fraudulent Fauci, it is just that so far, we have not chosen to do so primarily, I think, due to his knowledge of how the intel community spent the last 30 plus years financing all sorts of ghastly experiments in foreign and domestic labs, in contravention of the Chemical and Biological Warfare treaty, for supposedly 'defensive' purposes. It is a good point - we didn't quarantine people with AIDS because everyone agreed the government didn't have the power to do so at the time, though with the way AIDS worked it would have mostly ended the outbreak.
And this was again confirmed years later when the Ebola nurse came back to the US under Biden. Yep. There are two potential outcomes both good. 1) The courts dismiss the idea of "whatever he actually did pardons" and Fauci goes to jail 2) The courts hold up Fauci's "whatever he actually did pardons" and we get to point out the only reason Fauci isn't in jail for COVID is because Biden pardoned him AND Trump gets to issue his own "whatever he actually did pardons" at the end of his term Posted by: 18-1 at July 27, 2026 11:40 AM (sKqQm) 177

Overall it was the general policies of shut downs, and denial of "alternative effective meds" (to deadly ventilators or Remdesivir) , and denial of "informed consent" that made Fauci so evil. I'm not clear what policy changes would have made a difference for those like Oregon Muse, and I don't know his details. It just hit me this morning: I'm probably rather late to this observation, but next time somebody says that "roads are socialism" tell them that they are creating a false dichotomy out of "socialism".
Providing roads to everyone has nothing to do with the ownership of all means of production OR Owen's idea of fixing all of society all at once. (Owen is the original source of the term "socialism") It is not the case that a society either is intent on fixing society first as a means of fixing all social problems (which Owen "resolved" by creating communes for normies to live off his wealth in the 1820s) or that the government owns the "means of production" OR we don't have government services. All they are saying is that you have to draw a line somewhere. And duh, yeah. That's exactly what we non-socialists are saying. Posted by: Axeman at July 27, 2026 11:44 AM (Fi81e) 194

I think sometimes Fauci should be synonymous with Hitler. I understand that's the type of comparisons liberals like to make. But funding the development of the virus, releasing it purposely (IMO), shutting down pretty much the entire world, countless deaths from the virus and as well as undiagnosed medical issues, an inoculation that was worse than the virus impacting the health of millions, family separations, lack of visitation or funeral arrangements, lockdowns, facemasks, lack of schooling, on and on. That puts him pretty high on the evil list.

Posted by: polynikes ------- The answer is we don't know and the scientists themselves cannot be entrusted to tell the truth either, Fauci is a perfect example of that mindset. And corporations inevitably take over the regulatory establishment in order to keep the profits flowing and the lawsuits at bay. EVERYTHING has cost benefit analysis and one of the buggers in that is estimating future costs from whatever 'new' technology exists--for example, will the genetic modification actually cause future deaths while perhaps 'saving' those today. We ignore the future (look at our federal debt) and weight the present far too much. There is a reason that medical trials of new drugs are expensive and run for years. It is to try to find out the known unknowns. The truth is we as humans are not that smart with our tools as we think. Even reading the things we're finding today from Fauci's private, contemporaneous writings, will NEVER shake him from his belief that everything Fauci said then was absolute truth, supported by hundreds of scientists who verified and re-verified every statement. And my mom will functionally never leave the house again. It's religious. Posted by: Washington Nearsider: Gotterdammerung at July 27, 2026 11:36 AM (AdHga) Blood cancer folks talk all the time about having two options - living life or avoiding death. Living life probably brings about death sooner, but it's the way more desirable and joy-causing way to go, for a disease that's gonna kill you either way. Maybe try to get your mom slowly in the living life mindset with baby steps (I did that a lot on blood cancer boards, helping folks try something out of the house, just outside and short, and to work their way up back to real life)... Food allergies for example, affect on fertility, cancers, obesity, malnutrition, and so on. So what is the effect on a tomato that has a gene inserted by CRISPR to allow certain chemicals to be used around it like Roundup. Answer, we might know in 20-50 years, maybe not then. What GMO food has done that? Since I have a choice I eat non GMO but I haven't seen any proof it's killing people like mRNA vaccines.
On a case by case basis, GMO foods are often superior to heritage foods, if not by one metric alone: Some nutrition is better than no nutrition. And you get no nutrition when you don't have enough produce to meet demand. People whine about GMO not being as nutritious as their grand parents food. But their food depleted soils, used too much water, was prone to drought, floods, insects, hail storms and weeds. Golden Rice is a superior to heritage in that not only does it maintain the same nutrient level as heritage, but also is modified to produce beta-carotene which the body converts into Vitamin A which some "at risk" populations are naturally deficient in. And if they choose not to allow GMO food, then it is on that country's government, not me. Claiming cheap virtue for whatever position you take is a debater's trick to distract emotionally and not a serious argument. Your premise that 100k will die without GMO is a) not supported by your argument which is probably derived from 'authority', and b) we never know the counter argument from your moral imperative rhetoric. Could it affect local food supply and result in actually less food for people, could it result in other negatives, etc. "Feeding Africa" for example by Live AID back in the day actually killed a lot more Africans because it cemented a demented Ethiopian dictator Mengistu in power and destroyed local farmers. Wow. Sorry for you. We lost my mother-in-law just recently, within the 5-year period. My wife checked the lot # on her batch, and it was the second-most lethal lot.

Wife took the J&J jab in July, 2020; died August, 2025.
Posted by: one hour sober at July 27, 2026 12:11 PM (J4Dwc) Dad and step mother took the jabs and multiple boosters. Dad died last year from supposed kidney cancer. Step mother is now in a home suffering from Parkinson's and dementia. Posted by: Sponge - F*ck Cancer at July 27, 2026 12:13 PM (2YhKe) 319
The 100k that died in the two years that they had no rice production because of the monsoons isn't a premise.

Posted by: polynikes at July 27, 2026 12:08 PM (KC5Lt) And since when did churches - clergy - answer to civil authorities. Isn't it their duty to serve their flock? How is God going to look upon them denying Sunday worship? For us Catholics -- how is God going to look upon priests who denied the Holy Eucharist to people? Posted by: LinusVanPelt at July 27, 2026 12:07 PM (+gA9j) In ALL actuality, everyone needed to be assholes with the police back then. My question is, why reveal this now?
Why not wait until Fauci has a chance to perjure himself again and then reveal that you already know all of his secrets? Why let him know what he should not try to lie about? Sure, this makes for some headlines, but it severely undermines getting a chance to indict Fauci for lying when not protected by the Auto-Pen Amnesty. Great topic and knife, Buckster. Fauci is the modern Mengele. Rand Paul will offer a lot of theatre on Thursday, nothing more.

I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt Fauci was the villain when I found out he was also the guy who decided AIDS was something any of us could get and therefore we shouldn't bother all those homosexual men and intravenous drug addicts with anything directed at them. Because I knew that was wrong in the 80s. (I had an inkling he was the villain before that, but that was when I KNEW.)

National Review ceased being a conservative media organ as far back as 2014-2015. Donald Trump running for the GOP nomination in 2016 pushed them over the edge and got them to fully reveal themselves as nothing more than shills for the Republican Party donor class and Chamber of Commerce. They are a damn disgrace!
