Good morning kids. Well we seem to be picking up from where we left off last week. Then again why is this Monday different from any other Monday in this day and age?!

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer appears to have let out a ghastly flatulence this week on the floor of the chamber while criticizing President Donald Trump over the war in Iran.

Meh, every time Chuck Schumer opens his mouth to imitate human speech he emits the noise and stench of flatus, but continuing on a more serious yet schatological note.

The lettuce now being recalled by Taylor Farms in California has also hatched a number of lawsuits filed in federal court against Taco Bell, which allegedly used the shredded lettuce contaminated with a parasite called cyclospora.
No deaths have been reported from the outbreak.
Of course, like most any negative condition that makes headlines and impacts Americans, the problem was caused by Trump, according to a Democrat lawmaker and another who is running for Congress.
Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) posted a video Saturday on social media claiming the “worst outbreak in U.S. history” was caused by the president “taking a wrecking ball” to “our public health infrastructure,” even though the actual source of the outbreak has been traced to Mexico.

And speaking of projection and projectile diarrhea. . .

Mamdani’s belief that, as a minor municipal functionary, he wields some imaginary international power to subvert American sovereignty just shows the delusions of his ideology.
His authority extends to fixing potholes and collecting garbage, neither of which he does competently. But his delusions of grandeur are shared by the misfits, ignoramuses, and foreign interlopers who make up his rancid branch of the Democrat Party — the DSA.
The Democratic Socialists of America know nothing, have built nothing and don’t understand the country they live in, yet they imagine they have the moral authority to tear it down.
Their aim is to import foreign conflicts and alien ideologies that are the antithesis of America’s founding principles. . . Leftists are motivated by envy and a “poisonous resentment” that makes them hostile to everything that has made America successful, as Rubio said last week when opening a State Department conference on combating left-wing violence, something his Cuban emigre family knows a thing or two about. . . But that is the mission of the DSA. To use the Democratic Party as their Trojan horse to foment a communist revolution in America.

Does Mamdani really think that any NYC police officer is really going to attempt to lay a finger on Benjamin Netanyahu? There sure is no way in hell any Mossad agent and there are likely a half dozen or so surrounding Bibi everywhere he goes, will ever allow that to happen and they're probably itching to ventilate or otherwise break Mamdani's bones if they get half a chance.

That said, sic transit gloria Democrats because of Sick Bastards like Mamdani.

So, do they really have a shot at winning the next couple of elections and then finally snuffing us out for good?

Democratic Senate contenders are dramatically out-raising their Republican peers, according to Federal Election Commission data — with Georgia’s Jon Ossoff and James Talarico in Texas leading the pack.
Eight of the top 10 Senate candidate fundraiser this year are Democrats, whose top contestants have raked in $574 million, compared to the Republicans’ $336 million, per the FEC.
Incumbent Sen. Ossoff (D-Ga.) is the biggest fundraiser on both sides, having raked in a jaw-dropping $77 million as of June 30, and has a staggering $42.5 million in cash on hand. . . . Democrats are considered likely to retake the House in the Nov. 3 elections, due to polls and the historical trend of the party in power in the White House losing seats in the midterms.
But the Senate is a tougher call. Based on polls and incumbents, Republicans have an easier path to hold the upper chamber, but Democrats are running neck and neck with them in key races.
Democrats are generally eying Maine, Ohio, North Carolina and Alaska in particular as their easiest path to retaking the Senate.
But to win the upper chamber, they have to defend vulnerable incumbents, including Ossoff, who has proven to be a financial juggernaut.

Well at least I can delude myself with the likes of John Fetterman.

I do not know what JM9I6 had in mind with the comment, but I recall that there was an expectation that the Rapture would happen by 1988 because that marked 40 years (one generation) since the creation of the most recent state of Israel. I think it was a statement from Jesus about seeing the olive tree putting forth its leaves and "this generation will not pass away" before uh, stuff happens. I'm a bit hazy without looking up the reference.

The problem is that it is in the personal financial interests of congress to at least maintain spending and usually to increase it.

We hope to vote for people with integrity and they'll do what they are elected to do but as you point out this doesn't really work.

So we need to find a way to make the system incentivize spending cuts for congress.

I actually think what we're doing is about the best we can do right now. (maybe do it even harder) The original plan was quite clearly, bomb for two weeks, then hope a miracle happens, then we call it good and go home. Bad plan. Didn't work for obvious reasons.

So now the plan is degrade, degrade, degrade, and impose assymetric warfare on them. How long can they take it? Now that we've finally started to hit bridges and power plants, their entire internal distribution system will break down. That's not going to be be fun. It's very sad when we lose servicemen; but this is war after all.
Our goal must be to impose a 1000:1 payback for every serviceman we lose.

Every 2 term President (with the exception of Clinton) has lost house seats in his 2nd mid term election in the 20th and 21st century. And of those only Reagan lost seats in single digits. Bush, Obama, Nixon(Ford), Johnson, Eisenhower, Wilson and both Roosevelts lost double digit seats their 2nd term. Other than Clinton, you have to go back to 1834 to find the last 2 term president to not lose seats in his 2nd mid term.

It’s not doomerism to point out historical facts. American voters are fickle. They elect a president then 2 years later turn around and vote for the opposite party. It’s a thing.

I considered one over a decade ago, before dad began his decline and put all such ideas on hold for practical reasons (eventually I wound up at the Global Methodist church I now attend). I actually had cause to visit it recently, and I was quite pleased by what I experienced. I would have been happy to join it if life hadn't set me on a different path.

329 reasons like this that I'm not automatically drawn to church-going. I know there are churches out there that are actually Bible-based in teaching. But there are some very nefarious things going on inside so many denominations, from my perspective, that I'd rather eschew these places and do my own Bible study and prayer in the confines of my private life. IOW, it seems to be getting harder to find a church that isn't corrupted into leftist worldviews.

Facing massive funding & healthcare shifts, some states, i.e., New Jersey, are passing laws to fine large businesses that don't offer affordable health benefits to their low-wage workers, forcing taxpayers to subsidize them through Medicaid.

In addition, states such as Pennsylvania not only blew threw the C19 supplements but also lots of $ from the one time American Recue Plan to create unneeded, local boards of health & many "public health" jobs.

Reportedly, my county alone applied approximately $4.8 million in ARPA money to cover start-up costs, staff salaries, design, and IT infrastructure before a Board of Health officially debuted.
