Posted by: richard gere at July 22, 2026 09:56 AM (R11M+)

77 I really like the way Monet caught the texture of rock and water. The color choices making them up is interesting. The dark, supposedly immovable, rock contrasts with the lighter, fluid water but both have elements of each other. Light marks in the rock and darker in the water. The brush work adds to the differences, straight for the rock versus curved for the water. It's like there is a connection between them even as they are at war. The sky at the top is almost incidental. It is literally above the conflict.

In many ways I'm more intrigued by the technique than the scene. Seeing it in person would be interesting.

134 Daily Mail headline: Family's heroic dog fights off bear that charged at 6-year-old boy in shocking video

*watches video*

lol, nope.

Bear was running away with the dog close on its ass when the two animals crossed the driveway where the little boy happened to be standing about 20 feet away.
The bear was not charging at the the little boy.

And I wouldn't call it a "fight" either. It was a single nip from behind by the dog to the bear's hindquarters and that was it.

Clickbait got me.

205 77 I really like the way Monet caught the texture of rock and water.
