There have always been third party app stores for android ever since the OS was created. Over time the screeching harpies complained about "security!" and "toxic hellstew" so google made it harder to install apps from those app stores. To this day Samsung has its own active app store..

Guess I'm glad I got my MacBook when I did. Got a Sky, not a Neo. It works and that's all I ask of my tech.
My ancient HP Laptop finally gave up the ghost. The HD crapped out. I didn't have much on it. I had moved most files over to the other laptop and backed up on external HDs. Anything else that is lost is no real loss. Won't miss it. It was a solid laptop and lasted me over a decade. Probably 12 years old. Lots and lots of use. It came with Win 8 and I had Linux Mint 22.3 on it when it died. Putting Linux on old laptops and WS really helps with stretching out lifespans, especially with Micro$oft gleefully making perfectly good machines obsolete for 'reasons'. Evening and morning to late toilers and early risers across the Solar System! (Titan, I know there's nothing like that first bracing hydrogen cyanide-and-methane wind of the "winter," but try to contain your excitement, okay?)
In any case, it's Thor's Day on Earth. Whassup? Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at July 16, 2026 05:07 AM (wzUl9) 24

Good morning, all!
I'm inclined to think that a kitten should not be in a house with older folks ( He has so much energy !) but he is cute and makes me laugh and , he currently has some toys that look like springs and when he chews on the twisty yellow one it looks like he's chewing on a piece of twisty macaroni. Skip, I looked at pics of the Mazda CX30. It has a aggressive, "I'm ready for anything you can handle, bro" look to it. What's the color combo? Horsepower?

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at July 16, 2026 *** That was just why I did not originally want even one kitten, let alone two. But Stirling and Dagny both won me over. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at July 16, 2026 05:10 AM (wzUl9) 29

Gave myself a leg cramp stretching in a way I shouldn't have just now. I've stretched it out, carefully, and can walk fine, but I'm not sure I can work out. Or maybe that's just a rationalization for me to be lazy.

Posted by: FenelonSpoke at July 16, 2026 *** Well, the furry thugs' kittenhoods ended, technically, about three years ago. Thought they still fly around at times as though they are six months old. Do you work out every day? If you have a cramp I'd suggest taking a rest. Posted by: FenelonSpoke at July 16, 2026 *** Just what I wanted to hear --! No, not every day, and I'm short on sessions this week because of the rain on Mon. and Tues. I walked/ran on Sunday and Wednesday, planned to do it again today, and then do the brisk walk thing indoors at the mall tomorrow. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at July 16, 2026 05:34 AM (wzUl9) 39
Re: the cramp, maybe you're right, Fen. I can walk okay, but not without noticing the cramp. I've got enough to handle today, taking the car for its rear brakes, etc., that i'll be moving around, and can work it out, I guess.
