Holy Island (Lindisfarne), Northumberland

I posted a picture of that castle before:

holyislandnorthumberland.jpg
Holy Island, Northumberland
by Jim Scott

Poor dog depressed about the passing of his dog-sister smiles again when he meets his new rescue-dog brother.

It's raining monkeys.

Raven steals the cat's food to give it to the dog.

Stella the stray dog is rescued -- and it's discovered she has something lodged in her stomach she can't digest, so she can't eat and can't poop. She would have died within days, but for one concerned man's intervention.

When a dog is caught chewing on a family picture, the two cats swarm in to cover up the crime. The cats have nothing to gain from this. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Baby bear found alone on the road.

Moose drops by for a visit.

Clumsy baby elephant wakes up from a nap. This might be his first or second time on his feet.

Baby and husky puppy grow up together.

"New Zoo Review" intro.

"Great Space Coaster" intro. Plus: "Gary Gnu" with the Gnus.

Poorly aged -- #based -- advertisements from 1960s TV.

For x posts that require you to sign up, which is all of them now, just sub xcancel for x in the URL.

Note that xcancel won't accept the URL if there's stuff after the main URL, from "?" forward.

Xcancel.com Redirector extension from the Chrome Web Store* will automagically do the substitution for you, although you still have to delete the ?+ info from the URL.

126 >>>In the famous "Data Center Alley" of northern Virginia, energy giant Williams Companies is expanding its Transco natural gas pipeline system, while developers are proposing to build gas-fired power plants adjacent to data centers to bypass traditional grid interconnections, according to Global Energy Monitor.

Enlarging the support network for ramped-up natural gas production involves far more than installing and replacing pipes. Systems require stations that maintain the pressure to move gas over hundreds of miles, through processing plants, storage facilities, and metering stations. They also require connections to power plants, factories, export terminals, and local distribution networks.

Industry experts say this infrastructure network must continue modernizing to improve reliability and reduce supply bottlenecks

Our dog Beauregard was smacked in the face as a puppy by a neighbor cat. He did not forget. When he grew up, he knew exactly where the 6 ft. wooden fence was from wherever he was sitting at the time. He always waited until the neighbor cats were on top of the fence and in range, and then he hit that fence doing about 90 mph, cat was immediately in mid-air, and did not survive the landing.

My dad was forever bagging up the cats and delivering them back to the neighbors.

Bobo didn't like cats. Not one little bit.

Mind you, this was the same dog that we, as little kids, could ride on, put our hands in his mouth, and grab his fur, and he would just be happy as a clam.

The Lower 48 is funny about summer wildfires. Up here, we may have as many acres on fire at one time as the size of some of the smaller states, and nobody really cares much unless they come near somebody's house. The taiga is supposed to burn off every few years, to keep healthy. The idea that all fires must be extinguished is poor land management.

If you hate Canada's fires so bad, put up a nice mountain range on the border to keep that crap on their side.
