On June 10, the Minnesota Board of Pardons voted to grant Tou Lue Vang, from Laos, a pardon for his 2006 convictions for sexual assault--strongarm sodomy and procuring a child for prostitution. This pardon came just a week before Vang was set to be REMOVED from our nation.
During his interviews with police, Vang tried to justify his actions by saying "it is a cultural thing...to marry and have sex with girls as young as 12."
Governor Walz's pardon shielded this CHILD RAPIST from removal from our nation. This is the type of DISGUSTING criminal sanctuary politicians are shamelessly protecting.

Court files reveal disturbing details of child sex offender pardoned by Walz, Ellison before deportation
Tou Lue Vang sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl for years and told police it was a "cultural thing." Ron Schutz, the GOP candidate for attorney general, said he was "shocked" that incumbent Keith Ellison voted to pardon Vang.

Oh the Muslim child-marriage-supporting Keith Ellison was involved? What a surprise.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison and Chief Justice Natalie Hudson unanimously voted to pardon a Hmong man from Laos who repeatedly sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl over a two-and-a-half-year period.
In his clemency application, Tou Lue Vang argued that a pardon could protect him from immigration consequences, writing: "Without the protection a pardon can provide, I face the very real risk of detention and deportation."

So the pardon was granted precisely to keep this child rapist in the country with access to American children.

A review by Alpha News of court files and clemency records reveals disturbing details about Vang's crimes and the statements he made to investigators -- raising a question many Minnesotans are asking: Did the state's top elected officials vote to erase Vang's criminal record so the Trump administration couldn't deport him?

Criminal complaint details repeated abuse
According to the 2005 criminal complaint, the girl told investigators that when she was in fourth grade, Vang -- who later married her sister -- entered her bedroom.
The complaint states: "[Victim] said that Vang sat down beside her, reached his hand into her pants and touched her vagina ... She said that he put his fingers inside of her vagina and then pulled down his own pants and asked her to touch his penis, which she did. He then penetrated her vagina with his penis."
The girl told police the assaults occurred at least "four or five times."
The complaint also notes: "She recalled one incident when he came into her bedroom, put his penis into her mouth and ejaculated."

DHS has a system.

They immediately fly arrested individuals to the 5th Circuit. The immigration judges deny every asylum claim (it's like 98% rejection as opposed to the historical average over the last couple of decades of about 80-85% acceptance). 5th denies every habeus claim (it's like 95% of those). Habeus claims have to be filed in the circuit they're being held, not where they were picked up. And then they're deported.

Average time is less than 30 days, and that's including the people who actually can slow down the calendar.

With a political hot potato like this guy? Accelerate the process and get him on the next plane.

For every headline about an immigrant being allowed to stay for whatever reason, it's literally thousands of others who are just getting shipped out.

This is true.

The Judiciary Acts that formed the lower courts and subsequently modified them are explicit that district court judges have zero jurisdiction over immigration matters.

I'd love for some kind of real punishment for judges that exceed that jurisdiction.

But the best punishment in our current system is always going to be impeachment, and we need 14 Democrats to convict in the Senate, so nothing happens.

A modification of the Judiciary Act that gives SCOTUS authority to fire judges who operate outside of statutorial bounds would be a not bad addition, I don't think.

When you're getting people in and out in less than half the time, you don't need as many beds.

I think Noem tried to do well. The deportation machine did really start under her.

But she also wanted to make it a show. She wanted to make it a political spectacle, a political spectacle starring herself.

Mullin has taken a different approach. He's taken the groundwork Noem started, and just dialed down the exterior volume. Raids are smaller with less fanfare, for instance. They're still happening everywhere, but we don't have the head of ICE going into a city in a convoy on TV.

And deportation flights are much, much higher now.

The passenger is reportedly in the hospital with friction burns according to the airline. The plane had taken off from Greece and was on its way to Germany.
