The Morning Report — 7/ 7 /26

ChaoDown.jpg

Good morning kids. So a couple of big stories are shaking up the domestic political scene this morning. First and least surprising are the latest in a series of revelations about Democrat Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner:

Jenny Racicot, 41, told Politico that while she and Platner had been involved in an “on-and-off relationship,” in 2021 he allegedly “entered her rural Maine home uninvited one night” while intoxicated. Platner allegedly “forced himself on her while she repeatedly told him to stop.” “I remember him grabbing my pelvis and being really forceful of me,” Racicot explained to the outlet. “I remember the specific moment where I thought to myself, like, ‘This is no longer my choice.'”

So, a Nazi-loving Jew-hating rapist. As America's 250th birthday gradually recedes in the distance, I can honestly say I can't think of a more ideal presidential candidate . . . for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Khamenei Funeral: Loyalists Call for Killing of Trump, Vance, and Conservative Influencers “As they passed under a bridge, mourners hurled stones at a billboard hung from above showing U.S. President Donald Trump with a bullet aimed at his head.”

If you didn't have the context, you'd swear that was a typical social media post from almost any leftist pol, media personality or average lefty wine mom.

Meh, Graham cracka Platner is just another cardboard cutout Democrat Socialist, er Socialite. Shove his ass in a Cutlass Supreme and sink it off off the coast of Chappaquidick to see if he floats.

I guess I'm kind of shocked that the Democrats are not circling the wagons, given their propensity to reflexively do so every time one of their own are caught up in this kind of scandal, and sadly 99% of the time come out mostly unscathed.

“Graham Platner needs to immediately withdraw as the Democrat nominee for Senate and allow Maine Democrats the opportunity to choose a new candidate who can defeat Susan Collins,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) Chair Sen. Kristin Gillibrand of New York said in a statement. “The DSCC will not invest in the Maine Senate race if Platner remains on the ballot.” Democrat Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren also joined the pile-on, saying in a statement that “the best path forward is for Graham Platner to step aside,” while Democratic Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker wrote on X that Platner “must drop out” and that the party “should continue to stand with all survivors of sexual assault.”

Given this story and the rise of the DSA to preeminence in the Dem party, I can't understand how they are now seeing Platner as toxic waste.

A new YouGov survey found Democrats are more likely to view the Black Lives Matter flag positively than the American flag, with 74 percent expressing a very or somewhat positive opinion of the BLM flag compared with 72 percent for the U.S. flag. The poll also found ten percent of Democrats held a negative view of the American flag. Among Republicans, just ten percent said they viewed the BLM flag positively. The survey also measured reactions to other flags and symbols, finding only three percent of Democrats had a positive view of flags associated with President Donald J. Trump, while nine percent viewed the Confederate flag positively and 27 percent viewed the Palestinian flag favorably. The findings were released shortly after a Marist poll reported that fewer than half of Democrats said they were proud to be Americans, compared with 93 percent of Republicans. A 2025 Gallup poll similarly found a sharp partisan divide in national pride. YouGov surveyed 1,088 U.S. adults online between June 30 and July 2.

Elsewhere we have news that Mitch McConnell is unwell, or perhaps fast approaching room temperature.

Before politics enters the room, prayers should. I can't read about a possible heart crisis or stroke without thinking of my father, who lived through a heart attack, suffered a stroke, and endured hard months before he died.
Families live inside those hours; they're not campaign props.
But McConnell isn't only a husband, father, and grandfather. He is Kentucky's senior senator, holding one of 100 seats in a chamber where every vote cast decides war powers, judges, spending, taxes, and the president's agenda. If he's recovering, Kentucky deserves to know enough to trust that recovery. If he's gravely ill, Kentucky deserves honesty without cruelty.
Conservative activist Laura Loomer and journalist Desiree Townsend claimed Monday that McConnell has been declared “brain dead,” citing unnamed sources. McConnell's office hasn't confirmed or denied that claim.

Mitch McConnell's record has to say the least been spotty at best when it comes to advancing an America first constitutional agenda and opposing the Democrat traitors who have run wild especially since the coming of Obama and well before that. McConnell and all the other elderly doddering career politicians on both sides of the aisle who enrich themselves via elective office are why we desperately need term limits, as well as the severest of penalties for graft. Public flogging perhaps.

As if to underscore that, we have McConnell's wife.

Former U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao traveled to Beijing just three days after her husband, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), was rushed to the hospital following an apparent heart attack that required CPR.

Nope, not a smidgen of a hint of corruption at all, eh? This would be the same China that's doing this... Between Chao, Swalwell, the late Feinstein whose lifelong chauffeur was a Chi-Com spy and how many others nationally and locally who are the same, as well as all the spies in our academic institutions and the private sector, it's a race o see who finishes us off first, them or the Muslims...

The Congressional Research Service (CRS) has tracked Chinese nuclear and missile proliferation concerns across multiple decades and report iterations. The six editions examined here span the period from May 2021 through May 2026. Taken together, they reveal a consistent underlying pattern—Chinese government-level transfers have largely ended, but a persistent, arguably worsening problem of Chinese entity-level proliferation continues unabated—while the diplomatic and rhetorical framing around that problem has shifted considerably over time.

These transfers undermine the official Chinese position—namely, that China firmly opposes the proliferation of nuclear weapons, missiles, and related technologies/means of delivery and commits to rigorous export controls while balancing nonproliferation with the peaceful uses of dual-use technologies, especially for developing countries (see “China's Non-Proliferation Policy and Measures").

And so I was waiting, time was 9.15, 9.30, I gotta go, I didn't have what I needed. And long story
short, the president needed to push the meeting back an hour, which saved me, because this guy
who was responsible for printing refused to print it because he disagreed with what was on the
paper. And turns out he actually did print it, but then he locked it in his desk and refused to open
his desk.
My chief of staff went down and said, the director needs to present this to the president. We need
this. And he said, no, I refuse.
And so my chief brought down my head of a general counsel who said, the director needs this for the president. I refuse. And he would not do this until his boss back at his home agency said it
was okay to do it.
Ridiculous. There are other examples that are far more serious and grave that would make you
concerned for the integrity and future of our republic as I am. We must remain vigilant.

The real issue is not building the reactors, but in training operators and maintainers.

SMR reactor design can be improved for land operation. No need for very quiet operation and small sizes. Inherently safe reactors should be built for land operation.

The thought process by many was while civilian casualties from any bombings conventional or otherwise were horrific the ultimate objective was to end the war as soon as possible, ultimately saving more lives in the long run. It was a difficult time for sure.

I think it's a bit more evil than that. It was Democrats who released this information not Republicans. Maine election law gives the nominee until July 13th to drop out and after that he stays on the ballot.

Platner has been falling rapidly in polling and Maine polling is notoriously weighted toward Democrats. He was going to lose and the Party knew it. So they knifed him and forced his hand.

The reason they are backing away is he was likely going to lose big and that is what the Party can't tolerate. Now they will force him to drop out and replace him. Probably still lose but at least they won't have to spend months battling these scandals instead of running a race. They don't give a damn about ethics, they care about winning.

And the classic example of this is still in a live taping of the Colbert show he announced Trump had fired Comey and the crowd cheered - remember the FNM was telling people at the time Comey was a bad man for mentioned Hillary had committed felonies even if he wasn't going to prosecute her for it.

But then Colbert spent 5m browbeating and voxplaining to his audience and eventually they started booing the news instead.

Perhaps some if that is going on. But I assume this is a big, important debriefing, consolidation of accounts, and tying up of loose ends. The Chinese are having to wind down a thunderously successful intelligence operation on short notice, at an innopportune time. Dead men have no more influence to wield over the people who've protected them, and the President has an extremely hostile relationship with McConnell's cadre and the Chinese government.

We can all see that all of the energy in the Democrat Party is now with the communists. They are a lot more organized than they were even a few years ago and they discovered a real weakness in our electoral process and are exploiting it.

We, this group of morons, might be highly energized and involved and will go vote but overall the average voter is apathetic and doesn't bother no matter how much they talk. The communists are winning primaries by turning out. That's what happened in NY and that's what happened in Maine. Platner won his primary without the Party.

But it's been obvious for some time he was going to lose to Collins and rather than spend time and money supporting a rapist who was going to lose anyway they took him out. In the long run the communists are taking over the Democrat Party. It's not a joke and people on both sides of the aisle need to realize the fight is no longer R vs D, it's Freedom vs Tyranny.

Belgium pushed the USA players around on offense and defense and the USA team could not equally or more push-around the Belgians on offense and defense.

I expect it will always be this way with USA-citizen teams. Unless skilled American soccer players (a small percentage to begin with of our top skill-player athletes) can make enough money to play until they match the experience and toughness of European and Central/South American national teams. 208 It will be interesting to see how the Dems replace Platner with - if it is Mills or Gideon that would be a win for the Dem old guard - both of them are the platonic ideal of a Karen.”

Janet Mills chances are wrecked; she ran in the primary and lost. So that would be the Dem Party saying “HA-ha! We know you already voted against her but we’re giving you the chance to repent of your error.”

Voters will just love that.

Posted by: Tom Servo at July 07, 2026 07:23 AM (F297B)

I think the conventional wisdom was that she did not, in fact, have a chance; in a hypothetical contest between two bland old women, Collins was the more proven winner. So, 'They' weren't willing to prop her up, if she couldn't even win the primary on her own.

Following this logic, it stands to reason that Mills will not be the Party's choice, if they manage to pressure Platner into dropping out. I don't know who they would pick tho.

Not really true anymore. Our generation doesn't care that much but younger ones do. Youth soccer in the US is growing like a weed and far outpacing Little League and other traditional sports with the younger generations.

Soccer has been THE game around the world for generations. They traditionally have much bigger pipelines and the support is fanatical. We're catching up fast but the delta between the US team and the world's best teams is still wide. In time, the US team will be as competitive as any in the world.

My wife, who is a sports medicine physician that takes care of the professional soccer players for our local team here - got very upset at me because I called soccer the sport you become a fan of if you want to be seen as educated, elite, global and generally better-than-thou.

Our local pro hockey team owner is also a minority owner in the local soccer team, and is jealous of all of the attention that the new soccer team is getting in town, so he hired the same marketing consulting company to analyze why the hockey team doesn't get as much attention in the same little market as the soccer team does. The fact that he doesn't know who his working class customers are for the hockey team versus the educated progressive wannabe worldly self-appointed elites of the soccer team, is concerning. Supposedly he's going to rename and rebrand the hockey team which would be absolutely devastating.

The reason soccer became so popular around the world is not because it is the sport of the elites. Just the opposite. It is the sport of even the poorest people because all you need is a ball.

Look at some of the biggest soccer stars in the world. They didn't come from the elite, they came from the barrios and slums of the world. Travel around the world and you will see young kids in the poorest neighborhoods playing soccer. I was in Brazil one time and woke up to headlines in the local media that a referee at a game between two Brazilian club teams was murdered and decapitated after the game for what was perceived as a bad call against the home team.

It's the same as basketball and why it's so popular with inner city kids. All you need is a ball and hoop.

297 Loomer hates, HATES DeSantis - for going against Trump in 24, for stymying her own Congressional campaign. She said that DeSantis' wife "exaggerated" her situation. Which was stupid. SHe is a lot like Trump in that regard, throws firebombs. But she does have exceptional sources, and Trump's ear. Because she delivers. SHe cleaned out a lot deep staters from his administration, and she always, always brings receipts.

299 >>because I called soccer the sport you become a fan of if you want to be seen as educated, elite, global and generally better-than-thou.

Tried watching some of the World Cup, the American team matches. First, it is mostly decided by the officiating (strong Olympics biased judging vibes). Second, the fans are, in general, a$$holes. You've got the notorious European soccer hooligans, and then the team Mexico fans are known for making a racket against the other team's hotel so they can't sleep (music, fireworkes, etc.).

What's the appeal again?

"Galaxies must have started forming much earlier than we thought." Remember that response to the first images from the JWST?
Just replace galaxies with quasars and keep on (non) believing.

309 Hey ACE and COBs, I think one of your routine presentations, like the Daily Report, should always include a brief snippet from the Koran.
Include a warning, identifying whether the snippet is from the Meccan or Medinan verses.
Regular readers will soon recognize the difference.
The Meccan verses sometimes recapitulate Judeo-Christian stories ; the Medinan verses can be counted on to be hostile to Western Civilization.
P.S. Wikipedia has been goofy about their spelling choices of “Quran”,”Maccan”, “Mahdinan”, etc.

It was a stupid thing to say. Maybe she regrets it, I don't know. I like DeSantis. I like what Loomer is doing for Trump and his administration. I like that she started a PAC with Ami Mek "Defeat Marxism and Sharia PAC". She is pretty fearless.
