Extremely serious allegations here. The woman says Platner came to her house in 2021 despite her telling him not to. She claims he let himself in, was drunk, raped her over her objections, and ejaculated inside of her despite her telling him not to because she wasn't on birth control.

The sexual assault accusations against Graham Platner by Jenny Racicot are really quite severe. She says that he entered her home in a blackout state after she had definitively told him not to come. Then he forced himself on her. She cut off all contact afterward.
Barging into someone else's house really puts this in a different category. It doesn't leave room for mixed messages about given or withdrawn consent or something like that.
He can maintain he did no such thing, but I think a reasonable person would find that doubtful.

There was a report from Washington Reporter that said that Platner already decided to drop out:

The accuser says she would not have come forward publicly now -- except that the NYT attempted to cover this up and sugar-coat his crimes, which outraged her into action. (She had spoken to them without giving permission to use her name.)

She'd told the NYT about the rape, but the NYT refused to report on it, instead spinning the charges as "he was a bad boyfriend."

So, in Platner’s accusers own words, she would probably not have come forward if the Times had played this one straight. Instead, it leaned into the implication that the claims against Platner were partisan and dismissible.

The politico story confirms that the NYT writers had the details of the sexual assault but chose to omit them and instead focus their article overwhelmingly on the claims from LF so that they can just be spun as a partisan attack.
