Tim Walz Pardons an Illegal Alien for Raping a 10-Year-Old Girl to Attempt to Defeat Trump's Effort to Deport Him

NEW: DHS is accusing MN Gov. Tim Walz of trying to shield a Laotian illegal alien pedophile from being deported after Walz pardoned him for a 2006 conviction in which he repeatedly raped a 10-year-old girl in MN. DHS says Tou Lue Vang was issued a deportation order immediately after that conviction and was set to be imminently deported, but the pardon has now removed his deportable offenses and given him a clean record, which may thwart his removal and give him an avenue to fight deportation.
WARNING GRAPHIC DETAILS BELOW:
According to Vang's conviction documents from the state of Minnesota, in 2004, he repeatedly had penetrative sex with the 10-year-old girl on multiple occasions and forced oral sex upon her in which he ejaculated into her mouth. He told police "I made a mistake, but this is a minor thing...it's a cultural thing to marry and have sex with girls as young as 12." He also said the child should be arrested and she was also at fault.
Vang ultimately took a plea deal to plead guilty to the offense of first degree criminal sexual conduct. NYT reports he served no prison time as part of the deal.
Vang was pardoned for the offense last month by the Minnesota Board of Pardons, which is made up of the MN Governor, MN Attorney General, and Chief Justice of the MN Supreme Court. All pardons must be approved by the MN Governor.
DHS is now blasting the decision:
"Governor Tim Walz's decision to pardon an illegal alien convicted child rapist so he can remain in our country is disgusting," said Acting DHS Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. "These are the criminal illegal aliens he and his Minnesota sanctuary politicians are protecting. Tou Lue Vang lost his legal status following his conviction for repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl. Following the conviction, he was placed in removal proceedings and issued a final order of removal by a judge. This pardon will take away this child rapist's qualifying convictions that made him removable from the United States."

Washington Examiner:

Vang was set to be deported to Laos, according to the DHS. However, his pardon was issued on June 10, 2026, a week before he was supposed to be deported. Now, the pardon could reportedly "thwart his removal from the United States."
"Governor Tim Walz's decision to pardon an illegal alien convicted child rapist so he can remain in our country is disgusting," said acting assistant DHS Secretary Lauren Bis. "These are the criminal illegal aliens he and his Minnesota sanctuary politicians are protecting."

Vang entered the country in 1994 and was "granted legal status" by the Clinton administration, according to DHS. Court records revealed that he "repeatedly sexually assaulted a girl between 2002 and 2004. He also offered the girl he abused "$10 to keep quiet about the sexual assaults." During interviews with law enforcement at the time, Vang shifted blame of the abuse on his culture, claiming it was permissible to "marry and have sex with girls as young as 12." The DHS also claimed Vang said the girl he abused was equally as guilty as him and "should be arrested too."
Court records show that Vang pleaded guilty to "penetration or contact with a person under 13 years old by an actor more than 36 months older" on October 31, 2005, and was sentenced in February 2006 to 12 years, "with the sentence stayed." He was also issued 30 years of supervised probation. His legal status was revoked after his conviction, and he was issued a final order of removal in 2006.
"The Minnesota Board of Pardons made a unanimous decision to grant Tou Vang this pardon after an exhaustive process which included a statement of support for the pardon from the victim, a recommendation to grant the pardon from the Clemency Review Commission, and a large number of community support letters," Ellison's office said in a statement to the New York Times.

I see it as Walz accidentally making it easier.

The guy's not in prison anymore, and he has a final deportation order from 2006. ICE can just go find him and pick him up and throw him on a plane.

The guy's free and clear of the Minnesota state justice system, but he's still subject to Federal level stuff like overstaying a visa for 20 years. The nose is wrong... Wildly, unavoidably, glaringly wrong. In scale, it's more than a foot too wide. It's so much too wide that i have to fill the nose with epoxy then grind it down and re-scribe the whole thing.

But all the markings for it are predicated on the shape of the nose, so...

I'm going to try manipulating the markings in my plotter so I can cut my own masks, but the problem is that I can't see if they fit without destroying the current nose. If it doesn't work, I have no way of putting down the decals.

Don't know about that. Walz can't just make him technically "not one of the worst". If he's deportable, ICE is probably still justified in deporting him.
