The Badman Open Thread

I didn't like Pete Holmes superhero parody stuff because I'm a self-hating nerd who hates when people pander to me with nerdy shit I'm supposed to like.

But then I watched his great impression of Bale Batman and was won over.

Here are his original "Badman" sketches. Most of them are so-so, but there are two must watches. The one at the beginning of that series shows Batman trying out a lot of bad voices, including celebrity impressions, as his "Bat-Voice."

The other great one I linked a few months ago -- it's the climax of The Dark Knight Rises, and Talia al-Ghul wants to explain her evil plot to him, but Batman just wants to keep bragging that he banged her.

A more recent Batman series is called "Bat-Canned," where Batman fires various members of the Justice League, as well as the Robert Pattinson "The Batman" and the Joachin Phoenix Joker. There are also videos of the outtakes for each.

The best ones are Cyborg (despite how lame that character is), "the Batman," and Superman. The Joker one is okay. The Aquaman one is lame, as is the Wonder Woman one.

But for the outtakes, the Wonder Woman one is the best. They really left all their best jokes on the cutting room floor, maybe because they kept laughing at them. Other good outtakes ones include Cyborg again (which has a joke I guess they considered too dark and disturbing for the official video), Superman, and "The Batman."

You might want to watch the Wonder Woman video, as lame as it is, just as a set-up for the very funny outtakes video. Batman is #Based. "It's amazing I haven't gotten canceled yet," he says.

65 Oh, add to the pile of information that Cooper is going to have a harder time winning the Senate race in NC than not.

The NC legislature overrode Governor Stein's veto yesterday on a bill mandating that illegal immigrants do not get welfare benefits and that all levels of law enforcement in the state must joint the 287(g) program that interfaces with DHS and essentially makes local law enforcement deputies of immigration enforcement.

A local cop pulls over an illegal, finds out they're illegal, they arrest the illegal, call ICE, who comes and picks up the illegal from the jail and deports them in days. (Average time in detention is less than 60 days now.)

Assume 5-10% of illegals vote either knowingly or not that it's illegal. It's estimated that there are between 325,000 to 450,000 illegals in the state.

That should represent between 16,000 and 45,000 illegal votes, probably mostly to Democrats. If illegals are more afraid of exposing themselves to the world because of enhanced immigration enforcement, they'll be less likely to vote.

Cooper won his last election by 250k votes when there were 400k more Democrats registered in the state than Republicans. It's now 10K more GOP.

I suspect that his bare win in NYC and his ability to help knock out long-term Democrat incumbents in minimal turnout primaries is going to have an outsized effect on the image of the national party.

A party that already has serious image issues because of Biden's term.

I don't think the internet space filling up with Mamdani's radicalism is going to bring back the working class to the Democrat party.

The thing I find hilarious about the Badman sex video is the expressions on Talia's face. When he says "sign me up for another!" she kinda smiles in anticipation, like she's totally up for another round. And when he talks about 3 places in an order that would surprise you, that grimace tells me that he's totally telling the truth.

Talia's a total soopa-freak 304.

85 Issue: Taking care of laundry with dog helping

What I expected: I expected the dog to be super helpful and even fetch new loads when they are complete and that together we would become a laundry super team.

What I've observed instead: Dog rolls over clothes on bed while I'm trying to fold things, tries to eat the drier sheet, and steals away socks.

Trouble shooting steps taken: I have tried giving skritches while I fold but now the dog has discovered warm jeans work even better.

As a critical care nurse, looking at Senator Mitch McConnell’s situation through an ICU lens tells a very different story from the public updates.

Following the release of emergency audio detailing an unconscious person and active CPR for cardiac arrest at his residence on June 14, his staff issued a statement claiming he continues to improve and is working closely with his office. 🙄

However, anyone with extensive bedside experience knows that for an 84-year-old frail patient who has sustained an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest requiring full resuscitation, the idea that he is actively participating in daily Senate business is highly unlikely.

The brutal physical trauma of chest compressions combined with the high risk of acute neurological insult makes a return to a high-functioning baseline virtually impossible for someone with his preexisting vulnerabilities.

From my clinical perspective, the statistical chances of a full recovery are slim to none, serving as a stark reminder that political status cannot override physiological limits. Who agrees that his constituents and the rest of America deserves the truth?

104 During this period of high temperatures in our great city, we ask that you reduce the load on our renewable energy grid:

Open windows only at night, early in the morning, and late in the evening.

Otherwise close all windows and draw all curtains so you can be both uncomfortably warm and profoundly depressed.

Safely ensconced in your stuffy dark apartment, unplug all electrical devices, including your internet router, because these can emit heat even in “standby mode.”

Also roll up all of your carpets to stop them from storing heat.

Hang up wet laundry in your dark apartment to cool the air via evaporation, but do not hang up too much wet laundry or the air will become excessively humid which is even worse.

The one electronic device you might possibly consider plugging in, is a fan, to cool your skin. To enhance the cooling effect, put a bucket of all the ice that you have emptied from your unplugged freezer in front of the fan.

What you should not plug in, is any kind of portable air conditioning unit, because Department of Citywide Administrative Services believes that they will actually make your room warmer when the exhaust air finds its way back into your apartment

113 Pennsylvania lawmaker kicked off House floor for "patriotic' American flag suit jacket.

Representative Eric Davanzo, a Republican who serves PA's 58th district in parts of Westmoreland County, said he was removed from the House floor on Tuesday for wearing a suit jacket he called "patriotic" ahead of America's 250th anniversary celebrations.

Reportedly, House Speaker Joanna McClinton, who has "served" 🤡 parts of Delaware & Philadelphia counties found his jacket and tie combination against House rules, calling them a costume, and costumes are not allowed under House rules.

HOWEVER, Democratic lawmakers were encouraged to wear Pride-themed clothing throughout the month of June 2026. In fact, a group House photo of democratic House members dressed so was taken on the House floor during June 2026.

The speaker's office countered there was no double standard, wearing standard clothing items in Pride colors is acceptable dress whereas Davanzo's full patterned suit jacket and tie was rejected because it crossed the line into being a "novelty costume."
