My neighborhood/country club did their fireworks show last night and we enjoyed it with family and friends, so that helped get me in the mood. It's hot and sunny here today so I'm about to ice down some brewdogs and get in the pool, as that is what George Washington would want me to do, I think.

When did this heat weenie shit start?

Back when I was living and working in DC 15-20 years ago, it got hotter than satan's furnace on a yearly basis and the humidity was high enough to choke a donkey. Nobody did shit any differently other than buy Gold Bond in Costco-size tubs. Now it gets hot and nobody can cope? Softer than Charmin.

We are in a drought here in SW Wyoming.

Last Independence Day fireworks were banned because of the wildfire threat.

Some of the asshole neighbors here don't give a shit. They might give a shit when their house burns down but it will be other people's houses that burn down.

I read last night how many places across the country are very dry.

63 People around here seem pretty stoked for 250th. The fireworks tents around the area have been doing a brisk business even though the stuff's horribly expensive now. My son-in-law dropped about $400 on fireworks, his neighbor probably twice that.

We are having a big fireworks celebration tomorrow over the Mobile Bay and our local orchestra is going to play a concert before the fireworks. I am looking forward to that. Agree wholeheartedly. Being cruel, mean and nasty for laughs or clicks is repulsive. And really not funny.
