The GOP has clearly, loudly signaled that they have not moved an inch toward Trump in the last decade, and that is not going to change in 2 more years.
Nobody who comes from their ranks will seek to carry his torch. You're asking for leopards to change their spots. His successor would have to be someone from outside the Republican Party apparatus to keep any momentum going, and there is nobody like that on the radar. It's going to be a schism and the Party will mist likely not survive it. My hope is that his movement can weather that storm and come out intact enough to form a new Party from the wreckage. Not dogs and cats, eaten in Vietnam more so than China where it's highly regional, as discussed last thread, but guinea pigs are eaten in the Andean regions of Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, and Colombia.
Capybaras, mainly in Venezuela, Colombia, and parts of Brazil. Then there are field mice trapped in fields in Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, then placed on sticks, cooked and sold as a dried market delicacy. Monitor lizards in Nigeria, where they're prepared by boiling, steaming with spices (pepper, onions, tomatoes), and eaten with eba (cassava). Insects such as mopane worms are plucked from trees, sometimes prepared with tomatoes and garlic, and sold in Southern Africa. (That's a multimillion dollar industry. Tell Hunter.) Ostrich is often served at elegant weddings. And the cute beavers are primarily eaten in North America and Europe. 😞 Posted by: L - No nic, another fine day at July 03, 2026 04:54 PM (NFX2v) 62

I got willowed saying pretty much the same thing. Just because Rubio and Vance don't rant and joke like Trump doesn't mean they aren't MAGA and don't have the fire in their bellies. In fact, as much as we've enjoyed Trump's way with words, I think it will be nice to have the more decorous, articulate version of MAGA going forward. I do hope we get to keep Stephen Miller, though. I like his creativity. Posted by: Blonde Morticia --- How could a president be more decorous than Trump? Not in my lifetime has there been one. This or the last century. I like Miller's rapier tongue but he rides on the shoulders of a strong man. Trump's choice has been made and he has two more years to grow up Vance and Rubio; put steel in their spines. This coming election will tell much. God willing, we will be rid of some trash and be replaced by Trump supporters. Paxton will definitely be a thorn in Thune's side.
