"The Post-War Boom: Between 1946 and 1956, tourism flourished under the stable administrations of Léon Dumarsais Estimé and Paul Eugene Magloire. The capital, Port-au-Prince, became a major cultural hub with a bustling waterfront tailored to international cruise ships. A Magnet for Celebrities: Celebrities, artists, and political figures flocked to Haiti for its distinct French/Creole culture, vibrant art scene, upscale hotels, and gambling. Famous visitors included Truman Capote, Mick Jagger, Muhammad Ali, and Bill and Hillary Clinton, who famously honeymooned there in 1975. The 1970s Peak: After a dip in the 1960s, tourism rebounded sharply in the 1970s due to a new international airport and improved U.S. relations. By the end of the decade, annual visitors peaked at around 150,000 to 300,000 (combining air and sea arrivals), making tourism Haiti's second-largest earner of foreign exchange." IDNKT! One other thing that this decision helps blow up is a new legal concept that the rogue judges that are trying to invent - which is that "intent" is a valid legal concept in judging whether something is legal or not.
Trump may have the legal authority to do something, but if he is doing it for the Wrong Reasons, then you can still deny his authority - for example, claiming that he can't remove TPS status for Haitians, because he is doing it for racist reasons. It's a way of formalizing the legal concept that Democratic Presidents are allowed discretion in making decisions, and Trump is not. When you negotiate with the Iranians, you are buying a load of carpets in the bazaar and any change means screaming and an automatic renegotiation of the entire deal. This requires a different negotiation style. Posted by: Kindltot at June 25, 2026 12:54 PM (rbvCR) 220

And this case has big implication for the current lawless judge-made law of requiring ICE to release illegals out on bail.
I can't recall the whole argument but it's basically judges saying something like, "sure the statute was written to close a loophole that treated those who snuck in better than those who go through customs. But we don't like that and want illegals to get out on bond no matter where they're caught. So we read the limitation of eligibility for bond as for only those at the border to mean anyone who is caught by ICE anywhere." Right now, I think the 5th and the 8th say, "no bond for those who sneak in--the law clearly says what is says." And it's the 2nd or the 4th that's saying "if you sneak in, you can pinky swear to show at court if you get caught." And Biden-Obama treated that as a magical incantation to wave them in? That's what has the left pissed, ending that scam: We don't have to believe your sob story of trouble and woe--stay in Mexico, the 3rd or 4th country you passed to get here. The disconnect between how loud some cultural/national identities are about how much they love their cultural/national identity and how much they hate the other people who share it is really fascinating.
For all our bluster in the anglosphere, nobody can truly hate a Frenchman as much as a Frenchman who grew up a few hundred feet away from him does. Central Africa is so bad they've had to resort to punching themselves in the face because they've divvyed themselves up past the point of the natural counting numbers and now have to resort to fractional ethnic violence. here's the pattern:
"Speaking to reporters after arriving in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Trump rejected Iran’s claim that no visit by inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had been scheduled." Trump said "A" Iran screamed and yelled "not A" Wednesday, the IAEA head says, "A" Maybe the Iranians are lying. Maybe the ones releasing statements aren't in charge. Court is likely to reason that since immigrants have been dropping babies here forever that are recognized defacto as citizens that only an Amendment can change that reality.
After all, are we really going to deport...expel....millions of people who were born here....that's not their fault. More troublesome are children who were sent here or made it here themselves.
