Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Trump: I'm Not Signing Any Bills Until the Senate Passes the SAVE ActIf Trump doesn't sign the bill within ten days, it is automatically vetoed. That's the so-called "pocket veto." Trump had earlier ordered the Postmaster General to not deliver federal mail-in ballots to states which refused to turn over their voter lists for vetting. The Postmaster General confirmed he will obey that order, in congressional testimony. Postmaster General David Steiner told senators during a hearing Wednesday that he plans to abide by the Trump administration's rule regarding not delivering mail-in ballots in states that decline to hand over sensitive data about voters to the federal government. The proposed rule faces court challenges and Steiner said he would follow any court ruling on the matter, but will follow the rule until an order blocks it. The proposed rule seeks to create lists of citizens in each state to help determine who is eligible to vote and calls on the Postal Service not to distribute mail ballots to those not on state lists. Steiner confirmed he would follow the rule after Democratic Michigan Sen. Gary Peters asked "If a state refuses to turn their absentee voter list over to the federal government, will the Postal Service still mail their ballots under this proposal rule?" "Under our proposed regulation, no," Steiner said, according to the New York Times. "We would tell the state that we need the manifest." Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

There are ways to play hardball that we can not even imagine.
Chris Christie famously shut down a bridge to fuck with a state assemblyman or senator or dohicky he didn't like. We only heard about it because he pretended to be a Republican, but that kind of shit goes on all the time. Trump can start short shrifting all the projects in a state that is not complying. He can have the DOJ start prosecuting all the fraud these clowns are getting rich off of. He can expose them. Not signing a bill that does not need to be signed is like sending a letter warning that the next letter will be strongly worded. Here is an easy one... If Rittenhouse had walked into someone's yard and shot them when they asked him to leave he would have been convicted of murder. If Karmelo had a mob of angry white people chasing him down the street yelling they were going to kill him and AFTER one of them assaulted him with a weapon he had stabbed them he would have been found not guilty Posted by: 18-1 at June 25, 2026 01:31 PM (sKqQm) 112
12> Screwing Banks with foreclosed properties they need to unload.
Banks are not real-estate management firms. They need to get the foreclosed homes off their ledgers. Institutional buyers are the vector that is well equipped to take liabilities, which are often in bad shape, and rehab/flip them. They have the deep pockets to get around financing, inspections, surveys, etc. There is always risk with those applying for an FHA to purchase a foreclosed home that often times is not move-in-ready. Removing a path for banks to unload foreclosed homes makes the more risk adverse institutions tighten up their eligibility and drives up the prices of homes to cover the heightened risks of taking on new mortgages. There is no way you can make a serious legal argument then that the 14th gives citizenship to aliens Posted by: 18-1 at June 25, 2026 01:33 PM (sKqQm) Exactly! I have been noting this for some time now, and pointing to that as the model for addressing “birthright citizenship”. Indians were granted Citizenship by the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924, and it was accepted that this fell under the Lawmaking powers of the Legislature. But Congress has never addressed the children of illegals born in this country. I would not be surprised at all to see SCOTUS reference this in their ruling, and say that this is part of the Legislstive powers, but that the Executive has no constitutional power to do this on his own by an EO. 125> Institutional buyers of property
After looking closer at the text, it says that a firm can't have more than a certain number in its portfolio. Serious institutional investors spread the risk around by having numerous LLCs so that suits against one "firm" doesn't jeopardize the entire umbrella entity's larger portfolio. So yes, this isn't even a speed bump, its more of an encouragement to institutional investors to divide up their properties into smaller "firms". The housing and realtor lobby is arguably one of the most powerful special interest groups in the U.S.
Driven largely by the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the industry outspends major corporate giants, routinely ranking as the number one overall lobbying spender in Washington, D.C. NAR frequently outspends organizations like the Chamber of Commerce and the Business Roundtable, pouring tens of millions into both federal lobbying and nationwide election cycles. The Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC) is one of the largest in the country. It takes a strictly bipartisan approach, directing funds equally to Democratic and Republican candidates who support real estate interests. The true reach extends to city halls, statehouses, and zoning boards. Significant local battles shape everything from property taxes to local development and tenant protections. 167> What is the Housing Bill?
Its like the 55 MPH speedlimit. Do this thing you don't want to do or we starve you of funds. There are many communities, whether its a good policy or not, like their town just the way it is and don't want thousands of acres of land for datacenters or housing developments - the latter necessitating massive tax increases to underwrite the development of all infrastructure and social entities such as fire, police, school, courts, sanitation, infrastructure maintenance for the new neighbors. And their elected officials listen to their constituents - like they should. The Housing Bill is designed to bribe the city council to rubber stamp "affordable housing" development into existence at the expense of destroying the neighborhood's character and culture. --deport illegal aliens --lower interest rates Posted by: IrishEi ?! at June 25, 2026 02:02 PM (3ImbR) There is a huge argument going on if lowering interest rates fuels inflation, or if only printing more money fuels inflation. Doctrinaire Austrian economist says lowering interest will cause inflation, but the moderate ones say it just causes business cycles (boom-bust recessionary cycles) but not necessarily inflation since the inflationary part of the cycle gets eaten in the devaluation in the recession. And that only becomes inflation if the Government prints more money to support the market to avoid the bust part of the cycle. Posted by: Kindltot at June 25, 2026 02:07 PM (rbvCR) 264

Highly unlikely that the MSM wouldn't cover it. It's pure theater to have the President veto a bill passed by a majority of Senators (and the House) of his own party, forcing the legislators to decide whether to attempt to override their President, or swallow the rejection.

So, I always did back of the envelope math to check to see whether I should save for a house. I'd look for something nice but smaller in the area, assume a 10% down-payment and check to see what it would be for the mortgage payment. Before it always worked out less than what I was paying for apartment rent, but you had to get that 10%.
I looked again here recently. The cheapest I could find fairly close to Lexington was 200k for a 14-1500 sq ft home built in... '57. I actually liked the look. Lots of wood. Privacy fenced backyard. Unfinished basement. Fine. Plugged the current Intrest rate and assumed a 20k down-payment. Roughly 2000 per month- which is a LOT more than apartment rent. That is fucked up.
