But fortunately, the Trump Administration is busting them.

A Pakistani "community leader" feted by communist jihadi Theater Kid Zohran Mamdani stole $38 million of our money in an "adult day care" scam.

The first hint it was a scam should have been that it was an "adult day care."

This was another Democrat agenda item, and of course they insisted there be practically no verification whatsoever for billing American taxpayers for services not rendered.

A prominent Pakistani-American businessman who spent years cozying up to powerful Democrats stands accused of being part of a $38 million Medicaid scam.
Civic leader and well-known Brooklyn Community Board 13 member Pervez Siddiqui, 78, was arrested Monday along with seven co-conspirators.
They are alleged to have run a large-scale Medicaid kickback and false-billing scheme through two social adult day care (SADC) centers in Brooklyn: APNA Adult Daycare and Ashiana Social Adult Daycare.
The scam ran from 2019 through December 2025, feds allege, with seniors being signed up for day cares that they rarely or never attended, then getting a cut of the Medicaid payment.
"Marketers are going around looking for the Medicaid card. They stop people on the street, at bus stops. They go into doctors' offices. They go into NYCHA [government housing] where they know people are low-income. They ask, 'Do you have a Medicaid card?'" a source with knowledge of the investigation told The Post.
Siddiqui, who owns around 15 pharmacies in New Jersey, is prolific in local political circles and a regular donor to Democratic campaigns, sometimes shelling out over $10,000 a pop to local candidates, records show. And through his ties to another group, he scored an intimate sit-down with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani in December 2025, pictures obtained by The Post show.

The other defendants are Who's Who of Pakistani Dick Tracy villains.

Shazia Bibi (a.k.a. Shazia Wattoo), Abdul Aziz, Shair Ali, and their recruiter co-defendants Zebun Ahmed, Josna Begum, Saira Khatoon, and Atia Shahnaz were also involved, according to the unsealed indictment against them.
The gang paid cash bribes directly to New York Medicaid recipients to enroll at APNA or Ashiana -- even though most never attended their facilities -- and paid the recruiters kickbacks to refer patients, while submitting $38 million in fraudulent claims to New York Medicaid for services that were never provided, according to the indictment.

Remember when the left was so upset in the 80s and 90s at the fable that Wall Street traders were stealing millions with just a pen?

They're not upset at all by this brazen theft by paperwork.

For handing over their Medicaid card, seniors at APNA or their family members were getting $500 a month in kickbacks for day care services that were never provided, according to the source.

Below: The reporters here have completely different sense of the word "shockingly" than I do, or than you do.

Shockingly, the indictment says the payments were made even when enrollees were not in the US. The sources claimed many had even gone to live in other countries while they or their family members collected Medicaid kickback money.
"The patient is in Pakistan, they're in Morocco. They're not even in this country," the source claimed.

I don't think I've ever been less shocked.

A nationwide welfare fraud crackdown reached Massachusetts this week as federal authorities announced the arrests of 15 people -- 11 of them illegal immigrants -- accused of stealing more than $1.4 million in American taxpayer-funded benefits.

"Alarmingly, 11 of the 15 charged defendants are suspected illegal aliens, some of whom assumed stolen identities to steal these taxpayer-funded benefits and avoid detection," Acting Assistant Attorney General Colin MacDonald said during a Thursday press conference in Boston.

MacDonald argued the alleged crimes did more than drain public coffers, saying some Americans were effectively locked out of programs intended to help them because their identities had already been used by fraudsters.
"In some cases, the victims of these crimes, the rightful beneficiaries of these funds, could not access benefits they needed," MacDonald said. "American citizens were boxed out of these programs because illegal aliens took their names to then take their money."

Federal officials said the investigation was conducted with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations and multiple inspector general offices. They vowed additional arrests and charges are forthcoming as investigators continue examining benefit programs for fraud.
"The further we look, the more fraud we find," MacDonald said. "And this is just the beginning of our work."

47 The problem is that I think this will all turn out to be window dressing. A few peeps get nailed, big headlines, the other 99% of fraud gets swept under the rug and forgotten in the next news cycle.

Maybe I've gotten too cynical in my old age. I fully believe that a quarter or more of the federal budget is fraud and waste. There should be a department that does nothing but rigorous audits of all significant federal expenditures, with referrals to the DOJ for any significant fraud that is found. By the way, auditing would not be limited to just social services - I want everything covered, including the military.

This goes along with my desire for a clean, audited election process, term limits, housecleaning in the IRS and FBI, ...........

Which is what I want, what I've been praying for in the Saturday Prayer Thread. It is wrong to dangle temptation to sin in front of people who have worked hard for modest amounts their whole lives.

We literally pray for God to lead us not into temptation, and we shouldn't do it to each other either. I frankly think most all of those programs should be shut down at the Federal level, including the block grants to the states, and just let each state fund its own programs. The only real way to end the theft is by ending the disbursements.

The way it has always been described is a "rebuilding fund" but not a gift, an investment. Money invested by other gulf states to rebuild infrastructure (and then the fund owns that infrastructure) in Iran, as it is in dire need of facilities -- ports, pipes, refineries, etc.

So not USA money. Not taxpayer money. Not a gift. Iran thinks they will just steal it, but I do not care if they steal UAE money. It will probably turn into a protection racket - give us money or we don't allow your ships to pass. This is bad, but not what everyone is saying.

The pain and humiliation only gets worse.

It had to end quickly no matter what, before another Presidency, or become a bloodsoaked albatross of a generational war that penuries the taxpayer, enriches their domestic enemies, and emboldens their foreign ones when the US gets spanked and sent home with its materiele left on the field.

That was the only alternative.

Just "deal" with it, and breathe a sigh of relief that it was only this bad, which isn't that bad.
