I'm becoming the old man yells at cloud meme, literally, tonight. Cloudy as hell, and has been at sunset almost continuously since the end of May. I couldn't see the Venus-Jupiter conjunction. And now, the thin waxing crescent Moon has joined the show on the evening side. It will be below Venus and Jupiter and above Mercury. Any of you with a flat horizon and clear skies this evening will get a show. Mercury will be the hardest to see. The thin Moon will be visible, but just barely. I've traveled pretty extensively and I think there is some truth to this but I don't think it's all that surprising. I've met tons of friendly people around the world but like everywhere it is with similarly minded people. But by and large most countries are made up of people who come from generations of people who lived there. Aside from Elizabeth Warren, we all came from other places, some more recently than others, and that tends to make us more welcoming of other new people as long as they don't talk smack or try to tell us how to live. If you move to Germany you will never be German. Come here, play by the rules and do what is necessary to become an American and happily become one of us and we will welcome you as an American. Drainage has always been a problem at this course so I hope what they are doing works. Played ok till I got on the back 9 and then it was crap golf all the way in. I did walk it. I was reminded how out of shape I'm in.
