The Weak Are Woke

This is a rough one. One of the worst "Woke" posts yet.

Sorry. But this one got dark.

It's not me, you understand.

This is what the left is doing.

But let's start of light, stupid, and artistically vapid.

Has-been Bruce Springsteen and Never-was Chris Robinson of the Black Crows -- yes, THE Black Crows, the band with one lame "hit" to its credit -- won't shut up about their insipid leftwing politics and fans (the Black Crows have fans? Seriously?) are sick of it.

The Black Crowes' frontman Chris Robinson and rock icon Bruce Springsteen recently faced backlash over their political comments, which PR experts say reflect a growing frustration among Americans who feel musicians have become more interested in lecturing fans than entertaining them.

Robinson sparked controversy when he allegedly criticized fans chanting "USA" at a Florida concert and questioned what Americans had to be "so proud of right now," prompting some audience members to boo and walk out of the show, according to TMZ.

Meanwhile, some fans recently labeled Springsteen a "traitor" after he criticized the current state of America during a concert in April. Springsteen told the crowd that America had become seen by "many" as a "reckless, unpredictable, predatory rogue nation" under President Donald Trump's administration.

Since kicking off his Land of Hope and Dreams Tour, the singer has repeatedly unleashed blistering attacks on Trump during his shows, blasting the administration as "corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless and treasonous."

Doug Eldridge, founder of Achilles PR, told Fox News Digital that the response to Robinson and Springsteen's remarks signals a broader sentiment among Americans.

"At this point, it's fatigue," Eldridge said.

"Much like compounding interest, it's not a linear calculation; it's accumulation," he continued. "For the last decade, fans (read: average Americans) have been lectured, lied to, gaslit, and shamed, if they didn't conform to the new standard du jour."

"Worst of all, if you didn't buy into the 'new normal' you were castigated with an -ist or -ism as being the reason for your non-compliance," he added. "At a certain point, Americans had enough -- the same way they vote with their feet in elections, they vote with their dollars in the free market; especially for non-essential items like entertainment."

According to experts, fans aren't necessarily objecting to artists having political opinions, rather they are taking issue with what they perceive as criticism of their own beliefs.

"Most Americans don't mind that you have a different view; what they resent is being lectured and chastised for having an opposing view from the very act they paid good money to see," Eldridge said. "For Springsteen, the incessant criticism of Trump seems paradoxical, given his highest grossing album of all-time, was the iconic 'Born in the USA.'"

My no-longer guilty secret: Although I tried to like Bruce Springsteen because a confederacy of dunces told me I should, and I guess I do like (just like) a few songs, including "Rosalita" and "10th Avenue Freeze-Out," I always thought Springsteen was a, how do I put this, corny low-IQ posturing imbecile who was simultaneously bemoaning the low state of the "common man" while holding himself superior to the "common man" and who can't, what's the word?, sing and can barely play guitar.

Yes he was born a working-class kid -- a working-class kid who hates all other working-class kids, and who hates that the upper class kids looked down on him, but always longed to join the upper class kids so he could look down on the other working class kids.

He's a thickwitted New Jersey trash yokel that stupid rock critics, always on the lookout for the next Hero Philosopher Poet Guru Who Will Be Savior to the World -- of which rock has produced, so far, precisely zero -- gassed up into a sweaty-balled "genius."

Fuck him and his adulterous tax-dodging hypocrisy. He's a less-charismatic Carmine Ragusa from Laverne & Shirley.

I know this is a brave position to take on a blog where 99% of the readers don't like Springsteen and the 1% who do (which I guess would include garrett, and I don't mean that as an insult, but garrett generally has ecumenical tastes and likes most of the big rock acts), are just not going to feel that sticking up for this horse's ass, whose IQ is lower than Spinal Tap's, is worth it, especially at this late date, especially given his last 20 turgid regurgitive albums.

We are a long way since Born to Run and Born to Run is, get this, kinda mid.

And Born in the USA was always, always trash. And that's the one album most people think they like! It's so corny and basic-bitch and it's where he shows his condescension for "the common man" most nakedly. Every song is a sneer. A sneer from an imbecile.

Now "Fight Me," I say to people who are bored to even see the name "Bruce Springsteen." And seriously, fuck this dumb honky bitch.

Update: We finally found an answer to "which classic rock bands does garrett not like," and it's Blockhead Bruce Springsteen.

I heard some of you fretting "But don't we need more Cultural Enrichment? Europe seems to have so much of it now, and we have so much less than we used to!"

Don't worry, Massachusetts has come Cultural Enrichment for you.

So when I read the following headline, I figured it would be another such case: "Pitchfork Killing in Fall River: 28-Year-Old Charged in Bloody Double Homicide."

The savagery, the copious bloodshed, and the rustic weapon were the giveaways: We're dealing with yet another third-world savage, I figured.

The suspect's name seemed to confirm this diagnosis. Fall River Reporter posted the details on X:

28-year old Vitor Francisco Gomes is facing charges after two men were found dead on Aetna Street in Fall River, one with a pitchfork in the back of his head in Fall River, Massachusetts on Wednesday night.

FRPD responded to shots fired and found two men with severe injuries - one man's face covered in blood (likely gun shot wounds) the other with a metal pitchfork impaled into his head. The men were identified as 20-year old Pablo Henrique Rocha-Dasilva of Whitman and 19-year old Eduardo Cardosa DaSilva of Fall River.

Police found Vitor Francisco Gomes covered in blood one block away from the crime scene. After a short foot pursuit, they found him in possession of a bag that contained a firearm and ammunition. Gomes was taken into custody and charged with two counts of murder, unlawful carrying of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

So Gomes even had a gun on him, yet he still used hand tools to perpetrate his barbaric crimes. Fall River Reporter added gruesome details in a follow-up post:

According to DA Quinn, the murder scene was the worst he's every seen. One victim was shot in his car, dragged onto the street and beat with a brick. The second man was killed by a pitch fork to the back of the head. There are reports of an illegal boxing lead up to the violence.

These all sound like south-of-the-equator behaviors to me. Gomes' appearance at his arraignment reinforced my impression, as he required a Brazilian Portuguese interpreter.

Now, this being the Northeast, there is heavy societal and legal pressure to hide miscreants' immigration or citizenship status. I was unable to find any official mention of Gomes' origins, but you can do the math.

I don't do math and shame on you for even suggesting such a thing. But I take your point.

While that's bad, Europe is really putting on hall-of-fame performance:

Carney Must GO
The Mozartian

This post is true although I cannot confirm the police lying to the family. I can confirm the precedence of European and really all western governments actively obfuscating ethnicities and nationalities of criminal suspects in order to push ideological agendas.

Here's Claude AI's breakdown:

Institutional Concealment of Suspect Identity in Europe: The Tamar Boes Case and Its Ideological Context

The Tamar Boes Case: Confirmed Facts

On July 25, 2020, 14-year-old Tamar Boes from Marken, Netherlands, was found dead on the roadside of the Zeedijk between Monnickendam and Marken. She had left home after an argument with her parents. The following facts are confirmed by Dutch English-language reporting:

• The driver was identified as a 28-year-old resident of Germany who turned himself in through his Dutch defense attorney weeks after the incident. He drove a gray Mazda 3 and carried four occupants. The group had applied for asylum in Germany, were camping in the Netherlands, and left for Germany the morning after the crash. The vehicle was subsequently washed and put up for sale two months later.

• In 2021, the Public Prosecution Service (OM) imposed only a €1,500 fine, citing inattention to the road and finding insufficient evidence for manslaughter or criminal negligence charges.

An accident expert concluded Tamar's body had been dragged to the roadside after the collision. Police officers who found her described an unusual scene: arms positioned upward, legs extended straight together, "as if she had been laid out." A drag mark was observed across the asphalt. Expert opinion remains disputed as to whether she was moved by a third party or survived the impact briefly and moved herself, though a forensic pathologist commissioned by the family's legal representative rejected the self-movement scenario.

The family refused to accept the fine-only outcome and filed an Article 12 procedure to compel prosecution. A court ruled in 2022 that insufficient investigation had been conducted. After additional forensic work, the OM reopened the case. In March 2026, the driver -- now identified as Jamal T., age 33 -- was confirmed for prosecution on charges of causing a fatal accident and leaving the scene.

The specific claim that police explicitly told the family the driver was German and subsequently admitted he was Iraqi while citing a desire to avoid a "Wilders effect" is not confirmed by available Dutch English-language reporting.

That's a reference to anti-immigration Dutch politician Geert Wilders. The cop is admitting he lied to the family of the murdered girl about the nationality of her killers because he didn't want Geert Wilders to hear the truth and use the truth to boost his campaign.

Early reporting described the driver as "a 28-year-old resident of Germany," which may be the origin of the "German" characterization. The driver's precise country of origin is not stated in available English-language sources, and the deliberate deception narrative, while plausible given wider documented European patterns, remains unverified in this specific case.

The Broader Pattern: Institutional Concealment Across Europe

The Tamar Boes case reflects a documented pattern across Western European institutions of suppressing or obscuring the ethnic and national backgrounds of crime suspects. This is not an isolated or incidental practice. It is systemic, and its origins and mechanisms are traceable.

One day the people constantly lying to us and gaslighting us to keep us from "radicalizing" by knowing the truth are going to realize they're the ones who are doing the radicalizing.

Pro-Hamas "protesters" smashed a female cop in the spine with a sledgehammer to stop her from arresting their fellow "protesters." They had invaded the offices of a business they claim was an "arms supplier to Israel," which is 1, probably a lie, and 2, it also wouldn't matter if they were legally selling arms to Israel, you fucking degenerate terrorists.

Corner, linked to Palestine Action, struck Police Sergeant Kate Evans with a sledgehammer from behind while she was attempting an arrest, fracturing her spine.

has been ruled by a judge to be not competent to stand trial so he gets a free murder. Or maybe a few free murders.

The repeat offender who stabbed Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska to death aboard a Charlotte, N.C., commuter train last year is incompetent to stand trial, a federal judge ruled on Tuesday.

Presiding Federal Judge Kenneth Bell found that Decarlos Dejuan Brown Jr did not understand the proceedings and would be unable to assist in his defense. Brown is up on federal charges of terrorist attacks and other violence against mass transportation systems, in large part because state and local courts kept releasing him, despite a long history of violence and mental illness.

He's also up on state charges of first-degree murder.

In the August attack, Brown appeared to select Zarutska almost at random, stabbing her repeatedly in the neck from behind before casually getting off at the next stop. Zarutska died almost immediately, apparently confused, and then with a look of tragic understanding on her face before she collapsed, unattended and uncomforted by any of the other passengers.

The murder, caught on video, shocked the world.

Brown had an outburst at today's hearing, according to Queen City News, shouting, "that he wants to ask the judge whether he reviewed the evaluation and said he wants to press charges against the FBI." He went on with more intelligible shouts, including something about having "material in my body."

...

The federal judge also ruled -- unlike so many previous North Carolina judges -- that Brown will not be released. Instead, "he will receive medication and treatment for up to four months in an effort to restore his competency."

And then what? Out on the street again?

See the article for his long, long list of serious crimes.

You know, the great majority of spur-of-the-moment killers have some kind of psychological problem, compromised executive function, or brain abnormality. Judges who aren't WOKE AF know this and do not insist on prisoners being able to get a 1200 on their SATs before being tried for SLICING OPEN THE THROATS OF RANDOM WOMEN ON SUBWAYS.

Highly fatiguing behavior. It must be my fault, somehow.

This reminds me of annoying idiot femmy comic actor David Cross appearing on, if I recall, Adam Carolla. David Cross insisted that all of the "mega wealthy" pay something like 90% tax rates. Carolla (if my memory is correct) asked Cross how much he had made the previous year, and Cross said he didn't quite know, but it was somewhere between five and ten million.

Carolla asked if Cross wanted to pay 90% on his very high income, and he said no, the high tax rates would only apply to people with really really high incomes.

Some would say Cross had a really really high income, like myself. But no, he's protected as a blue-collar working man who just happens to have a mansion in LA.

A long time ago, some wag (and to be honest I don't quite know what "wag" means but I think I've seen it used in this way) observed that every media person in the world thinks that anyone making one single dollar more than what the top-earning star of the media world could possibly earn should have his money taken away by confiscatory income tax rates.

But note the limitation they put on it-- "obscene wealth which must be seized and distributed among the masses" only begins one dollar higher than the highest amount they can conceivably make themselves.

They always -- always -- configure the Estate Confiscation Scheme to exclude themselves.

Popehat -- Ken White, a deranged twitter-obsessive with emotional dysregulation and leftwing lawyer and in good standing with the bar in California, Pennsylvania, and DC -- calls for the assassination of a US citizen, Elon Musk.

ALERT: Elderly New York City transgender serial killer who rode around with his girlfriends' severed leg in his electric wheelchair will serve the rest of their life behind bars.

88-year-old Harvey Marcelin was sentenced to life without parole for the murder of his girlfriend, Susan Leyden, 68.

Marcelin, who identifies as female, savagely chopped up Leydan with a reciprocating saw in his apartment in 2022.

Marcelin then took Leydon's remains and dumped her torso on a street corner and rolled over to a 99 Cent store with the severed leg in his wheelchair.

Marcelin has spent more than 50 years in prison, dating back to 1963, for killing 2 of his girlfriends before being let out on parole in 2019 after he promised to stay out of trouble.

Pincher Martin
@PincherMartin8

Think of this.

He murders his girlfriend in 1963. He is tried, convicted and sentenced to life with a chance for parole after the jury deadlocks on the death penalty. He spends 21 years in prison and gets out in 1984.

The year after his release he meets a new girl who is a drug addict and prostitute. They become roommates. He stabs her within the year and dismembers her corpse while high on crack cocaine. He admits to the murder, but claims it was in self-defense. For some odd reason, the charges are downgraded to manslaughter even though the autopsy results found 33 stab wounds. Only 12 years are added to his revoked life sentence. He applies for parole 15 times over the next 34 years, but is denied until 2019 when he is released due to his advanced age of 81 years.

He quickly finds another roommate, a 68-year-old lesbian woman. Less than three years later, he murders this roommate and (again) dismembers her corpse. He pleads not guilty, claiming another female associate did it. This case finally makes it to trial in 2026 - a full four years after the murder.

Think of the waste. The two unnecessary deaths, the unnecessary trials, the wasted prison space - all for a guy who should've been put to death sixty years ago after his first murder. And now we are having to waste space again in a prison for some 88-year-old serial killer psycho. It's just absurd.

Here's the darkest news of all:

For those wondering (and you know who you are), California Democrats defined the political beliefs you must hold to watch the World Cup in a series of X posts:

"You're not allowed to watch the World Cup if you've ever voted against immigration."

"You're not allowed to watch the World Cup if you've ever spoken out against DEI."

"You're not allowed to watch the World Cup if you only want people to speak English."

"Slam Frank, the critically acclaimed and provocative new musical that reimagines Anne Frank’s story “through an intersectional, multiethnic, genderqueer, Afro-Latin hip-hop lens,” will begin a limited engagement Off Broadway this September.

Inspired by a viral Twitter thread that asked, “Did Anne Frank ever acknowledge her white privilege?”, Slam Frank imagines what happens when a progressive community theater company decides to transform Anne Frank’s story into an intersectional, multiethnic, genderqueer, Afro-Latin hip-hop musical. 31 The Belfast Riots Are an Anti-Migrant Pogrom - and the British Media Has Serious Questions to Answer - Owen Jones

Toss Greer calls them pogroms and the BBC's response: "...other political parties out there who would argue that a lot of these people were out there last night just articulating what they would think are legitimate views that are opposed to yours...But listen, let's move on.”
So pogroms are "legitimate" to the BBC

Next time I feel like articulating my political views, i shall remember that taking up arms is considered a legitimate option.

The media and the government need to address that the UK has a racism problem. No trying to pretend it's 'genuine concerns' or people at the end of the tether. The rioters are attacking people who are not white. It is racism or even 'white supremacy' that is the issue here

Labour were far too soft on the Southport rioters and they need to stop the far-right not waste time and political capital trying to appease them.

38 My full experience of watching soccer consists of driving past the soccer fields where the little boys and girls were running around in knee socks and colorful jerseys when I was on my way home from work. For decades, I saw them running to and sometimes fro, screaming in their high-pitched voices, in the 30 seconds it took me to pass the fields. The children were not the same, year after year, but they may as well have been. It probably wore those little farts out and that's good for the parents. This is what I know of soccer.

They had invaded the offices of a business they claim was an "arms supplier to Israel," which is 1, probably a lie, and 2, it also wouldn't matter if they were legally selling arms to Israel, you fucking degenerate terrorists.

I saw the surveillance video from that somewhere a week or so ago. These people used a van to ram the rolling doors of the warehouse portion of the building, then a group strolled in with masks and sledgehammers chasing a security guard down the hallway.

Cops eventually get there and have to chase them around the building, until eventually putting one guy down with a Tazer and a loud-mouthed chick got the same treatment after she refused to comply.

92 Springsteen's second album is actually pretty good. I will still listen to it from time to time. It didn't sell back then though, and to me his entire career track was simplify, simplify til the Born In The USA album hit right in the center of mainstream rock at that time and made him a mint. Basically Huey Lewis at that point. He also put on lengthy dramatic concerts back then. Politics? He was a high school dropout and was schooled in leftism by commie rock critics who also pushed him as a cult figure and kept him afloat til he became commercial. The defining moment of his personality to me is that after the USA tour was over he basically told his supposedly beloved E Street Band it was over and they were on their own, too bad. When being a solo act didn't bring in enough money eventually he called them back again.

California is still counting votes and that’s a good thing. In a state with more than 23 million voters, ensuring that every ballot is verified and processed takes time. Every vote deserves to be counted.

Yes, just not as many as there used to be, and the standards for locking people up in them are vastly different. Because then you are locking people up without due process, which was the anrgument the left used to get us here. And there is a problem, right? Because there are people who legit need to be locked up. But there were also people getting locked up because they were mildly intellectually disabled (hello, Kennedys!), or because a husband thought his wife was a PIA so she was labeled “hysterical”. I guess a hysterectomy didn’t fix that issue or something. It’s like it’s all or nothing with this crowd.

Judge says, whether you have knowledge that you are breaking the law has no bearing on the case.
Whether you broke the law or not is the only concern.

I don’t know that I am a good person. But I do think there are really tough ethical questions out there that are hard to wrestle with - like if someone is so legitimately psychotic they truly do not understand right from wrong what do you do with that? The failings with this guy are so, so many. The judges who thought they were helping him by not holding him accountable as he got more and more psychotic, they should have to face music, too. They aren’t mental ill. They are just stupid.

A lot of people appear to have amygdala problems. Especially homosexuals and those on anti-depressants, it's like they lack the normal, healthy 'disgust' and 'fear' reactions. When you combine that with decades of cultural programming to "don't be prejudiced," it's a deadly combination.

303 I don't post here much, but I will tell this story after Ace's epic rant.

After 9/11, in the summer of 2002 before his tour that year, he arranged to use the Fort Monmouth NJ Army base post theater to rehearse before the start of the tour. His house was in an upscale neighborhood a short distance away, and the security of the post would insure that they could do it in private, as the post at the time was closed and guarded by an National Guard infantry unit.

The deal was that he could have the use of the theater, and in return, he would let a small number of soldiers and family members who lived on the post sit in on the last one.

Needless to say he got a week of rehearsal time, but at the end, took off before the last one, reneging on the deal - leaving a bunch of disappointed soldiers and kids.

He would go on to make a quarter billion dollars in revenue on that tour. Cashing in on 9/11.

I have never forgotten what he did.

There is a special place in hell for him.

Great production values, brittle sound, good use of keyboards along guitar. His voice is unique if not particularly distinguished.

Then again, Bob Seger had a far superior voice to Bruce and never quite got the hoopla.

The best musicians, best bands, the best vocalists, or even the best songwriting often falls flat in the public eye that somehow prefers something worse.

362 Interesting:

Tom Petty’s legal battles with MCA Records in the late 1970s and early 1980s fundamentally shifted industry standards for artist rights and album pricing.

1979 Contract Dispute: When Petty’s label, Shelter Records, was sold to MCA, he refused to be "bought and sold like a piece of meat" and withheld his third album, Damn the Torpedoes. Petty filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 1979 to halt lawsuits and void his unfavorable contract, which had cost him his publishing rights.
MCA relented, releasing him from the old deal and signing him to a new $3 million contract with a newly created subsidiary, Backstreet Records.

1981 Pricing Stand: Petty again confronted MCA over "superstar pricing," a policy that would have raised his fourth album, Hard Promises, from the standard $8.98 to $9.98.
Petty argued that artists must not price music out of reach for common fans, threatening to withhold the album or title it Eight Ninety-Eight. MCA reversed the decision, keeping the price at $8.98, a move that solidified Petty’s reputation as a defender of both artistic control and consumer affordability.

I did not know all of that.

Terror, as an ideology with its capital T, is fundamentally a juvenile ideology. It's the solipsistic id of the child who can't comprehend Other People, and therefore can't even begin to understand Other People Having Power. It will say, so, and smash anything without guilt or conscience unless and until something bigger and stronger teaches it that it can't.

371 345 What Petty did to MCA to get his Album rights back...that was definitely Punk.
Posted by: garrett

MCA at one time, was so mob connected that the execs looked the other way while the mob bootlegged lp copies of their own signed acts. Artists lost untold millions to genuine bootleg lps going out the back door in the 70's. They also used the cheapest piece of crap vinyl and cheaped out on album liner notes, memorabilia, etc.

In sum, MCA under Lew Wasserman was a piece of shit corporation.

Nah - Bob Seger has a pretty unique voicing talent. He essentially has a form of Turrets that is inherently musical.

I loathe most of the singles from a lot of popular bands...but I recognize the tunes that make them important in their time and place.

Seger's Vietnam era Ballad of the Yellow Beret is hilarious. But Bob put in the time from the late 60's to finally breaking out with Live Bullet and then his masterpiece album--Night Moves. Not a bad song on Night Moves really.

Great concerts too.

395 If you're unironically calling Graham Platner a Nazi, you're not a serious person.
He's a doofus who got drunk with his military unit overseas, they all got a tattoo, he later learned it was an obscure Nazi symbol and he stupidly kept it anyway because he thought it looked cool.

Obscure? Really? It's been in use since Fredrick the Great; it was a recognizable symbol for Not See Germany; they don't give that one out by accident. You want a pirate skull and crossbones, they have a ton of that sh*t hanging on the wall; you have to to ask for that one by name because it was worn by bloody concentration camp guards. Don't even try that just a drunken tattoo bullsh*t. Drunken tattoos are some chick's name you don't even remember or a Betty Boop or some other cartoon sh*t. You get a totenkopf because you either a. asked for it or b. walked into Joe's Not See Biker Tattoo Parlor and asked for it.
Stupid r*tard never called his his pirate tattoo; never called his jolly roger while he was getting a jolly rogering in the toilet shack; no, he called it a 'my totenkopf' that's the name of the godd*mn unit so he knew exactly what the f**k it was. JFC i'm sick of this.
