My read on this is that many prospective jurors did what prospective jurors always do: say whatever they think will get them bounced so they don't have to sit through a trial.
No black person who wants a shot at being a juror says anything like "I can't put a brother in jail." That's a guaranteed way to get kicked out of the prospective pool.
Same thing saying things like "he's too young, it's just one mistake."

So if the neighboring tribe killed one of yours, you were allowed, and expected really, to go kill one or more of theirs.

But...if we step away from the notions of justice that Western civilization invented this is what we will go back to

It's bad enough that black jurors won't convict a black perp, but an even bigger problem is all the "judges" the Dems have installed. Whenever you see a judge do something clearly racist or contrary to established legal procedure, you can bet it's an Obama or Biden (and a few Clinton hangers-on) appointment.

The judge introduced the defendants and then asked the jury pool if there was anyone that could not serve.
Several people raised their hands and he talked with each individually but I could hear the discussion.
A couple people were related to the defendants or the cops that had arrested them and they were let go.
But a bunch of people gave dumb arguments like "I don't like cops" and he seated every single one of them on the jury. Punishing them for being flippant? Trying to get the defendants off? Who knows

24 My read on this is that many prospective jurors did what prospective jurors always do: say whatever they think will get them bounced so they don't have to sit through a trial.
No black person who wants a shot at being a juror says anything like "I can't put a brother in jail." That's a guaranteed way to get kicked out of the prospective pool.
Same thing saying things like "he's too young, it's just one mistake."
This is jurors doing whatever jurors have to do to get off the case. I did the same thing the last time I was called for a jury panel. I said something like "This was a drug deal gone bad, right? Well, I don't think I could credit the testimony of a drug-dealing gangbanger like the defendant." The judge all but fell out of his chair.

He killed a violent thug. The world is safer bc of Karmelo. Pretty easy self defense case.

This is a high profile case and the defendant is a favored minority; evidence against him is pretty strong which means people are going to dox the f*ck out of the jury if they find him guilty and try to tar them as railroading a poor young boy who dindoo nuffin.

Sad reality is that if the roles were reversed and it was a skinny small white guy that was getting picked on by two black guys much larger than him, with the white kid saying “don’t touch me” after getting attacked by one of the much larger black guys twice before finally pulling a blade out to stab his attacker, your typical jury would find the white kid not guilty

"Activist" jurors only go one way. Anti death penalty people will lie to get on juries and then will vote their activism. I am pro death penalty, but am not going to vote guilty on a person that appears innocent to me to support my ideologic basis of justice.

My brother got out of jury duty one time. He was asked some question about accidental shootings. He responded that, if a loaded weapon got picked up by a tornado, and fell back to earth and discharged as it hit the ground and hit someone, that would be an accidental shooting. Otherwise, he said he didn't believe in accidental shootings.

"In this case, the attorneys pointed out that Koutras [the administrative law judge] sped up the appeals hearing process because of security concerns."
The "security concerns" being that Antifa has been threatening the city employees associated with this process, so they want to get the kangaroo court done as quickly as possible.

IIRC, the charges were upgraded to 1st degree murder--premeditated murder--after the DA had time to view the body cams and interview the witnesses.
None of that evidence has been released yet.

Only trial I served was a classic late-crack-war era DC case, with a very simple and clear fact pattern (and some "color" that was right out of "Bonfire of the Vanities"). Executive summary: two young white jurors refused to convict on most serious charge (attempted murder). Perps (tried separately, we had one of them) shot the victim ..... 13 times. Kids didn't budge. Prosecutors told us afterwards it was OK, conviction on 3 other counts got them what they needed. Sponge, being in fear for your life beyond a reasonable doubt is not is not in Texas law, as I recall. My concealed carry instructor, a former cop, a lawyer, and a Texas state representative who helped write the applicable laws, said reasonable fear, period. And reasonable fear of serious bodily injury, not only death, is a justifiable use of deadly force. He gave us several examples of such situations. The one I remember is someone coming at you with a container he says or is labeled corrosive acid. He said you will be justified in using deadly force to prevent this person from permanently permanently disabling you or disfiguring you.

With Floyd, they had video of cops kneeling on the guy's neck for a long time, whining that he couldn't breathe (and well before all the body cams show that's what they ALWAYS say). There was at least some ambiguity on excessive force that could be leaned on to justify the rioting. This case? Doesn't have it.

Obama had been relatively decent on the border. But that changed in 2011. That's when they started the "border turnaways are deportations" game.
I think that's when Eric Holder et al decided that the only way forward was a mixture of sue and settle, outright corruption, and using federal grants to prop up their political party at the national level. They were never going to lose again. Chicago doesn't lose elections.
So, the party was put on a path of replacement and astroturf as their future until the people who rejected them were bred out. This actively pushed out key voting blocs, but it didn't matter because Broward County in FL could manufacture votes.
Until it couldn't.
And now, 15 years after it started down this path, the Democrat Party literally has no institutional knowledge of how to do politics other than that.

I've been called twice for jury duty and as soon as they find out I'm an engineer, I am out the door.
I talked to a DA once at a party and asked him about this and he told me there was no layer in their right mind would let an engineer serve on a jury.
I suspected that this was the case but after that confirmation I have to say I lost a ton on confidence in our justice system working fairly.

No black person who wants a shot at being a juror says anything like "I can't put a brother in jail." That's a guaranteed way to get kicked out of the prospective pool......
This is jurors doing whatever jurors have to do to get off the case. I did the same thing the last time I was called for a jury panel.
