In theory the astronauts could have unassed the spacecraft in an emergency via a zip line and taken refuge there. They had survival supplies and such inside. I guess it was supposed to be survivable if the stack blew up, though I wouldn’t want to test that theory.

Dogs aren't "smart" enough to know that their reflection is themselves. She's wondering about the other dog in the puddle.

The "mirror test" generally involves putting a mark on an animal (a paint spot, or something) in a location the animal can't see on its own, but could see in a mirror. If they try to examine or remove the mark when they see it in the mirror, they've "passed" the mirror test.

Some species of: dolphins, chimps, gorillas, orangutans, bonobos, horses(!), crows, magpies, elephants, mice(!), and octopi have passed the test.

Dogs and cats have not.

Separating "intelligence" from "instinct" is hard, though, because some ants can also pass the test.....
