AMD will make a killing re-releasing the 5800X3D.
They're been off the market for close to two years and a lot has changed in the PC market since then. People who need a 'budget' gaming PC these days can do no better than a 5800X3D with DDR4 and a decent current GPU to go with it. I'd grab one myself if I was still running a 5600X. Thor's Day, Thor's Day yet again! Evening and morning, AoSHQ satellites, satraps, malcontents, and insurgents. Whassup?
"Martha and the Muffins"? Can't say I've ever heard of them or heard that song. "Martha" herself -- she shouldn't be attractive; all the parts of her face don't add up to the usual kind of comeliness. But somehow she is compelling. If I'd met her in the '80s (I presume this is when this video is from?), I'd have been drawn to her for sure. ("How you doin'?") Talked with my oldest friend C last night. He's doing well. But another of our junior high classmates who has been our friend for decades -- and is C's wife's uncle! -- has just had a stroke at age 73. He's in the hospital and has lost the use of the right side of his body. Apparently he will be going to rehab. His name is Patrick, so if you can include him in your prayers, it'd be appreciated.
I need to go see him. It's funny; I still see myself and my oldest friends as being thirteen, or twenty, or thirty. Reality and old age hits you in the face. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at May 21, 2026 05:32 AM (wzUl9) 40

We all escaped having to go to Vietnam (good draft numbers); he and another pal of ours taught me to shoot; they were at my wedding to La Sociopath in '83. For years, an amateur historian, he made his living doing piecework, painting miniature soldiers for a shop in the French Quarter. He's always been a rebel and an acerbic commenter on our society. C. says he was just visiting with him the day before the stroke happened, talking with him happily for an hour while visiting his wife's mother, with whom Patrick lives in the suburbs.
