There's going to be a conjunction of Venus and Jove on Jun 8 - 9. Every evening at sunset, you'll see Venus getting higher and higher, approaching Jupiter.

saw that just the other day, but in a reverse. A randy cottontail was chasing one of the female feral domestic rabbits around my neighborhood. Outside my back window whilst brewing coffee. He was smaller than she. I did not stick around to see if he succeeded, because I am not a perve.

My 'hood is famous for having a huge population of formerly domestic rabbits all over the damn place. What we need is a handful of foxes and coyotes. But then, that creates a new problem...

Ummm...that's how Eratosthenes calculated the Earth's diameter, as far back as 240BC. heheard that there was a well in egypt where the sun hit to bottom (i.e. no shadows) on a certain day if the year. Compared that to a stick stuck in the ground a couple hundred miles away on the same day, and using proto-trigonmetery, very accurately calcualtred the Earth's circumference and diameter.

I ran into a jackrabbit late one afternoon, in Utah. His head was hidden, kinda wrapped around the top of my front bumper, with his body and cute big legs hanging out. Strangely no sign of damage to the visible part. Freeing him was not pleasant though.

The humidity will be high with high temperatures around 90. The air will be heavy and uncomfortable. Spring is rolling into summer. A/C is a must have if I'm going to stay in a halfway good mood. Hope the farmers around here have their crops in.

88 Hawaii as a duty station has some advantages. Lived on base, no rent. Ate in mess hall if necessary, no grocery bill. It’s kinda spendy otherwise. Spectacular scenery abounds, no doubt. Bring lots of money, don’t get too attached to it though.

Trump has taken down both of China's gas stations. I assume Xi noticed. I don't know if anyone has noticed but China's economy is cratering.

I can see Venus next the thin Moon nicely out there, but Jupiter isn't visible yet.

And just I was looking, a plane was headed over to GSP looked like and passed right close by. I got to see the sun shining off the bottom of the plane, making a nice glint. This was after sunset here. That's one of the many "earth is round" observations, of course.

Colorado's boundary has a crazy amount of corners, because the surveyors kept missing the fact that longitude changes as one moves north. I forget the actual number, but it's a lot, because they kept having to correct.
