The Morning Rant: Thune Needs To Go!

What has the vaunted United States Senate done for us lately? Remember, they are the self-described "greatest deliberative body on the planet!"

They have done nothing. And the only substantive effort they have made has been to keep the Senate in pretend session to prevent a sitting president from recess appointments to the various administrative departments. That is an abuse of the process, that is an abuse of their political mandate, and that is an abuse of the American people.

How does a Republican majority in this senate differ from a Democrat majority?

They have deliberated nothing other than faux issues and nonsensical pronouncements. They have subverted the will of the American people, and have obfuscated and delayed and flat-out lied. And those lies have mostly come from the cartoonish fake-statesman Thune. He is a craven weasel whose political philosophy begins and ends with his personal aggrandizement, and the wishes of his benefactors, which is a fancy term for "owners." And who are they? Pharma! Health Care! Goldman Sachs! And, weirdly, a bunch of auto dealers! And for a senator who is not up for reelection, why does he have $17 million cash on hand? For a small state like South Dakota?

Thune Has Tried Nothing To Pass The SAVE Act And He's All Out Of Ideas

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., said Tuesday “We don’t have the votes to get rid of the filibuster” as his defense for why he won’t get the SAVE America Act passed. Lucky for Thune, he doesn’t need to “get rid of the filibuster” to pass the SAVE America Act, but he already knows that — he just doesn’t want to pass the legislation at all.

If the good people of South Dakota approve of this clown's transparent attempt to supplant a wildly popular bill with his own belief in the correctness of our obviously broken voting systems, then perhaps it is time to revoke its statehood. But my guess is that the people who voted for him are just as disappointed.

Cui Bono? Who benefits from our country's slide into 3rd world sh*thole status, courtesy of illegal voting? The Democrat junta obviously. But why would Thune support the continuation of this destruction of our constitutional republic and its conversion into a majority-rule "democracy" without any of the checks and balances that have defended our freedoms for 250 years? Is it as simple as Thune's desire for the status quo, which makes his life quite easy, but will ultimately destroy our republic?

If so, he might be even sleazier and amoral than the typical senator, and that is saying a lot.

67 I've said it before but having worked there, Senators are lazy sacks of shit. All of them.

They don't write legislation, they don't have spirited debates, and they spend as little time in the Senate chamber as possible. It's 6-year job security and they simply don't give a fuck to do anything other than fundraise and eat nice meals and get drunk with their colleagues and the lobbyists buying the drinks.

Doing real, actual work is foreign to most of them because a lot of them haven't had an actual job in 30+ years, if ever.

Especially once you get into leadership like Thune, you know you're on easy street until you finally decide to retire much too late (Mitch) or just drop dead while in office, so you have even less incentive to do anything more than jack shit.

Invite a short list of MAGA friendly Republicans to the Party. Explicitly banish any unnamed elected Republican to the outer reaches, never to be acknowledged as a human being, let alone a candidate.

Run fresh blood in every primary the incumbent does drop out of (many will, they are hopeless in a fight against MAGA). Where they don't, bankroll the fuck out of the race against him.

Put MAGA names on every ballot in 2028, even if it's an unknown.

That is an official, state-issued copy of that record. It bears an embossed or raised state seal and an authorized signature, and it is the only version accepted for legal purposes like passports, driver's licenses, and employment.
