US Launches Airstrikes Against Iranian Targets, Stops 70+ Iranian Oil Tankers from Evading the Blockade

Getting a little spicy again:


Iran has run out of oil storage capacity and instead of shutting down their wells -- which could cause long-term damage -- they're now deliberately causing an environmental catastrophe by flooding the ocean with oil.

If they just wanted to release oil, they could just dig pits and dump in in there.

But they're terrorists, so they're going to terrorize.

This is going to turn into a worldwide ecological disaster...if we don't want the entire Middle East to turn into a warzone, we need to stop it. essentially, useless. volatiles evaporate and the stuff on the surface gets with the water as an emulsion. Some heavy stuff even sinks.

It can be scooped out, centrifuged (I think that is what they do) to separate. and used as,... I don't know what. No one would want it.

But in M. E. where oil spurts out of the ground, any recovery would cost 100x the value of the oil. and even then at best you have bunker fuel or asphalt. What goes into the sea, stays in the sea.

Oil spills aren't great for the water, and they do temporarily kill a lot of fish and wildlife. But the oil itself is eventually broken down and consumed by bacteria. If this didn't happen, the world's oceans would be covered in oil from billions of years of volcanic and oil eruptions.

267 In spite of the victories in Virginia and elsewhere, I just read a naysayer saying we will still lose the mid-terms in the blog I read once a week.

Why I check there to see if there are normal people returning I don't know. I need to stop as it makes me want to argue and yell and stab and not good for an optimist.

I honestly don't understand doom people. It's like they hedge their bets on depression. I guess so they can say, "I told you so!" Not a great way to live.

I accidently called my neurotic SIL yesterday, which was pretty funny as I was trying to call my husband (who was downstairs but I didn't feel like finding him or yelling...this house is soundproof anyway). Apparently I did was not careful in the selection of numbers. I was super nice to her, which surprised even me. She's a gloom and doom caster as well. I did good this week with her and juggling puking grands and DIL up the mountain in the middle of the night.

Also am organizing by ordering organizers from Amazon for one closet I hate.

This concludes my productivity for the week. I will garden today and someday love the dahlias and whatever comes up.

This has been an odd week but a great Friday so far!

I suspect we should be triggering any dumping in the ocean to start it aflame (I assume it will burn but maybe not). It does partially evaporate but also just congeals into tar eventually I think.

No, it won't burn on its own. There are ways, involving creating a big wick, but making sure the wicking material floats, doesn't absorb water, only oil, and getting it hot enough.in the first place make it extremely unlikely that it could be burned.
Probably a large amount is going to.polute their own beaches.
